Lord Touch Me's character name is based on his skill.
He was the one of the 3 best World Champion class that his name literally asks everyone to TOUCH HIM, because he is untouchable.
this is where you realize the top guardians are actually crazy broken, Shalltear actually would demolish Ainz in a duel on equal footing, he had to buff himself before the fight began, start the fight with Shalltear at half HP, and still use multiple premium items during the fight (especially the one to use a spell with zero cast time). Nazarick's tomb actually cracked.
To be fair she is the perfect counter to Ainz. He's an “overlord” or a high-tier elder lich while Shalltear has a lifesteal ability, however, it is said that her creator wanted to make a meta build for her and if I remember correctly is the 2nd strongest behind Albedo’s sister.
As the other guy said shalltear is basically the perfect counter for ainz , he can't use any of his summons on her cuz of her lance , she has holy magic , she can fight on hp alone while he can't , his instant death magic doesn't have much effect on her either AND she has a resurrection stone so you have to kill her twice basically

Plus ainz was actually crazy nerfed in this fight since he didn't bring any of his god tier equipment , his world item (the red orb in his stomach) or his staff of ainz oal gown with him since there was a chance some opponents may be waiting there hiding to ambush and he probably didn't wanna risk losing all that so he literally came in his trash equipment (we saw him use this before when he just joined the game and was getting bullied by other players for it)
He only brought what was necessary to beat her smoothly and left everything behind
If they actually did fight a fair duel on equal footings in some other location like you said , ainz would actually crush shalltear with much less effort with his god class equipment and items that he didn't bring this time
Not downplaying shalltear at all , she is crazy strong and on paper stats should beat ainz in every way possible , but ainz got all these crazy items not to mention he was the best battle strategist in their guild who plans before every fight
ainz may not be thatt strong in pvp..but his equipment will win over most of the guardians

Wasn't it less of a taunt skill and more of a "terrify" skill, but because Shaltear is high level it only made her hesistate for a second.

Neel, your instincts about the eyeball that appeared next to Shalltear were correct. Aura used a skill of hers to distract Shalltear, since she was going in for the attack when Ainz was still conflicted about killing her by using the cash shop item to reduce his Super Tier Magic cast time.
The Scriptures of the Slaine Theocracy are special divisions of the countries special forces that each have their own specializations. The Sunlight Scripture (the group that Ainz faced in early S1 that tried to kill Gazef/Gonzales) are a anti-demihuman force that annihilate whole populations of Demihumans and Heteromorphs.

I don't think it was hesitation on killing her, it was that the item in question required more physical force to break than he was expecting (he's never used that item outside of the "game world" after all), so it caused him a moment to realize that he needed to grip it harder to activate it. That's why you hear it crack, but not break, and he looks down at it like "why hasn't this activated yet?"

As I mentioned in the previous comment, Ainz's entire battle was based on the strategy of killing Shalltear twice, because she had a resurrection item. Furthermore, he had to make her recklessly spend all those unique “Skills” that could have saved her if she had saved them until the end. Before the climax of the battle Ainz only has enough magic left to cast 3 or maybe 4 spells and so Shalltear thought that she had already won, but they quickly changed things to something to do with the Ygddrassil game.
When one created a character and then wanted to change it, he could only lose several battles and levels to rebuild the parts he wanted or directly create a new account. All of this was extremely tedious for level 100 players who had become mages and wanted to try out the warrior class for a while, but only for a short time. The "Perfect Warrior" spell was a solution to that problem. Allows you to convert all mage levels to the warrior class and use equipment that you would not normally be able to use. When Ainz wears it, he can use Touchme's armor without problems, although he cannot use any other magic in return.
For this battle Ainz used many Cash Items, more than ever in his entire life. Each of the sticks he broke allowed him to automatically store and equip his teammates' weapons. Especially the bow was what surprised Shalltear the most, because it is the favorite weapon of her creator.
At the end there is a strange phenomenon where Shalltear sees something like an eye on her back. To explain this I have to go back to the beginning of chapter 1, where they explain Aura Bella Fiora's abilities in the light novel. The dark elf's breath can cause various effects, most notably fear. Aura can use her breath at great distances to terrify others, especially creatures in order to tame them.
Naturally a vampire like Shalltear has resistance to these effects, but she probably doesn't have complete immunity. Therefore, instead of fear, what she feels is that there is "something dangerous" behind her and thus she is distracted long enough for Ainz to finish breaking his last Cash Item. We see a very small fragment in which Aura is exhaling a kind of purple wind, which is precisely her Fear ability, the same one that we saw Aura use against Hamsuke to provoke him in chapter 7.
Resurrection magic is performed using spells or wands. In players, the penalty for reviving was losing some levels. But the NPCs are not players and can be resurrected with money, lots and lots of money. Good thing Ainz decided to save it!

Clarification and Context;
1. Those are not World Class items or replicas. Those are the actual gear used by his guildmates.
Remember when he said that before they retired, they gave their items and equipment to him. He had them stored in the treasury and had the golems that looked like his guildmates equip them.
2. Nazarick only has 11 world class items out of the 200 that supposedly exists. They are actually the guild with the most world class items collected. The second place only has 3.
3. There are 200 World Class Items, with differing effects and levels of power but there's a subset of called "Twenty." These world items are one use only but in exchange they are beyond broken. Nazarick actually has at least one of the "Twenty" though Ainz refuses to use it as it is considered one of their biggest trump cards.
4. The Spell that Ainz used, "Perfect Warrior," allows Ainz to temporarily transfer his levels in magic classes to a warrior one. He temporary becomes a lvl 100 warrior but in exchange, he cannot cast any spells and he also cannot use any warrior class skills.
He only gets the stats of a lvl 100 basic warrior without any access to skills. In exchange, this spell allows him to bypass any class related restrictions. It's the reason why he can equip Touch Me's armor even though it's restricted to only those with the World Champion class.
5. All World Class Items makes their users immune to the effects of other World Class Items. So if Shalltear actually had a World Class Item with her at that time, she wouldn't have been mind controlled.
6. Here are the World Class Items that we have seen so far;
- the dress worn by that old woman that Shalltear fought
- the scroll carried by Aura
- both the gloves worn by Mare(they act as one item)
- the scepter that Albedo carries sometimes.
- the red orb in Ainz's body.
- the throne in the throne room of Nazarick.
The throne is a World Class item? What does it do?
Throne of Kings: A magnificent throne on the 10th floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. The one who sits upon it can oversee the whole of the Tomb, as well as check the stats of their fellow Nazarick denizens. The Throne also protects the Tomb from divination magic.

So,by clearing and conquering the Great Tomb of Nazarick,a recommended level 80+ dungeon in one attempt, the guild of Ainz Ooal Gown was rewarded with this World Item, the Throne of Kings as a trophy. It was a big deal considering the Yggdrasil gameplay doesn't easily allow the players to raid a high ranking dungeon and be victorious, much less conquering it in the very 1st try.
Like the main comment explained- The Throne of Kings is a base-defense and area control type of item. it had also defended the tomb against any kind of divination magic from the enemy that was used on them, activating countermeasures in its defense system as a response to the enemy. The defense system possesses several layers of protection. This help makes Nazarick an impregnable fortress in that regard when it comes to protecting the tomb from external attacks outside.
in the LN,we never saw it actually being used. In WN we see it being used in the battle.
Theocracy tried to use divination against. And the results were catastrophic.Not just did they not see anything,but they got attacked.
Light fingered demons got summoned and there was a second skill that didn't get activated because enough number of allied forces haven't been killed.

Happy to see you're one of the rare reactors I've seen who caught that it was Aura who distracted Shalltear at the end of the battle, just enough when Ains was actually in trouble because the hourglass object was not breaking quickly enough. Even Shalltear last word was "Shorty" which is the nickname only she gives to Aura as a way to tease her.
Most reactors I've seen overlooked everything and just assumed it was related to the one who mind controlled Shalltear (but we all know how individual ended up literally screwed by Shalltear).
He's also the only one (only one I've seen atleast) who caught that shalltear killed the person who cast the mind control on her before she lost it and there was no master to give her command , apparently it's easy to miss that

I love how in the anime the lightning sword is called "Takemikazuchi Hachiski" in the English subtitles but whenever I watched it with Italian subtitles the sword was called "Takemikazuchi No. 8" which implies there's more versions of that sword.
if im not wrong takemikazuchi really does own lot of swords where some is made by himself. idk if it's theory or i read it somewhere but he actually is a swordsmith

From what I understand Ainz has a ridiculous collection of items from the old game, things he collected, things that were given to him by his guildmates, everything in the guild's storehouse and everything he bought from the shop in the game. It's also what made him technically the strongest in the old game, once certain people had left.
So yes should someone be taken over or die they can be revived but not even Nazarick has infinite gold and I think that required the use of a world class item the staff with the orbs? Can only be used like 7 times or something, might be wrong about that part.
It also required a few single use cash shop items, which he can't get more of anymore.
First, you can respawn as many times as you want if you still have enough resources to do so. Secondly, Ainz's staff is called a guild weapon, it is not strong enough to compare with world items (but in reality, in terms of level, that staff is only ranked below world items) and the staff It has 7 types of power based on 7 gems and it also has a mechanism to operate independently without needing control from Ainz.
Yeah the guild ainz ooal gown was broken... It was ranked 9th with 41 members... For reference the 3rd had something like 1000
and the fact that they have such a high rank is partly thanks to the world items, they own 11 which is the most and the 2nd ranked guild only has 3

it maybe just a theory but i always assume ainz create Pandora actor as his replacement if he were to be no more. he is very well 'treasured' hence why he is guarding the vault is supposed to not be known. because if he were to continue ainz duty, it will be less obvious
That is a fun theory. I always saw Pandora as reflection of himself. Ignoring that it was probably when he was less mature, he wasn't created to be the most powerful offensive or defensive. As much as he was made to be very adaptable and flexible very like Ainz himself. Its funny enough more proof of his old life with his silly personality clearly not fitting in this serious normal world.
Aura used a taunt skill, because Ainz was hesitating the moment he was about to kill one of his NPCs. In terms of an actual 1v1, even with all the deception, even with all the tactics, Ainz actually would have lost. That is how strong Shalltear is. Aura stepped in to save the day.

In any other place or situation Ainz could've easily defeated shalltear with much less effort with all his god tier items and equipments but he had to drop it all off probably cuz of the possibility of an ambush and he didn't wanna lose it all

He left almost everything behind aside from the few things that were necessary to beat shalltear
If it was a regular 1v1 match with no risks of 3rd parties ainz would've brought it and win easily
And even now he did win pretty easily , everything was perfectly in his control throughout the whole fight , it was his hesitation to kill one of his friends creation that caused a minor problem at the end and aura had to help a little by distracting shalltear for a second
On paper yeah shalltear should win most of the time cuz she's like the perfect counter for ainz build , not that she's that much stronger but her abilities hard counters ainz so she have many advantages on him but again it's on paper
An actual 1v1 is a whole different story , cuz that's where the skill , battle IQ and experience of a player kicks in like we saw in this fight
@@kcknowshowtoplay4302 Unless we assume they both are fighting optimally, Ainz hesitating at a crucial moment does mean he losese the 1v1. Otherwise we should just assume Shalltear plays perfectly, which she didn't do, and Ainz plays perfectly, which he almost did.
It also means that with the current Shalltear does not lose to Ainz 1v1, because her character has learned so much since volume 3. After that defeat, which was perfectly described to her afterwards, lest my memory decieves me, Shalltear won't lose again. Unless Ainz isn't careful of hidden enemies or losing his items. If that were the case, it's harder to say, but probably tipping towards Ainz winning.

Ainz isn't a very good ruler or overlord, he's mostly LARPing at this point. But Ainz *is* very very good at PVP, being the guild leader of the top PVP guild in the game. He can't really do grand strategic plans, but one on one battles even against a stronger opponent, that's his specialty.
you're wrong, it's the exact opposite, Ainz was never considered strong in pvp because his character wasn't suitable for it nor did he learn pvp from touchme simply because he wanted to know more things and not aimed at competing with other players. What also stands out about him is his tactics and ability to exploit information from his opponents. Ainz is the type of player who is willing to lose in the first game to exploit as much information as possible from his opponent to strategize for the second game.

Nah, Ainz is the strongest in this entire world. There's none stronger than him. The others only seem strong by their world's standards, but they're merely ants compared to Ainz. For starters, there's a level system even in the isekai and Ainz's level is 100. All the Pleiades battle maids are level 50, and they are already considered broken monsters by the standard of this world. The number of characters with level higher than the battle maids in this world can be counted with one hand, and they are the ancient legendary heroes in this world that still exist today. If the strongest characters in this world are only on par with the battle maids, then they can hardly be a match for the Guardians and Ainz whose levels are double theirs.
It is only Ainz's wish for the countries to surrender without bloodshed. To take over the countries and their systems without completely eradicating the countries. Kinda like how Genghis Khan conquered his vast empire. Later on, Ainz will completely destroy and eradicate a country from existence as a warning and show of force to all countries in the world what will happen if they slight him or refuse surrender. Ainz has stated before Rubedo is by far stronger than himself.
There are still Dragon Lords who should be capable of defeating him.
And I am confident in a rematch, Shalltear would best Ainz.
