Nice job guys. Really good breakdown of the parks. 👍
Cheers. Glad you liked it.👊
What an opening 😁Really well put together dude and a pleasure to be a part of.
Yeah it turn out pretty good to say I didn't really have a proper plan to start with.
Looks like Ramp 1 is better for a street session and Gray Stone is a great transition flow park.
Although Gray Stone as the movable objects it almost seems that the street section was an afterthought.
So I guess, it depends on the kind of session you want to have.
Good vide. Stay Rad.
Yes, you are right. Both parks are good and it really does come down to what you want to work on during the session. For me most of the time I think I would prefer Ramp 1 as its more my style of skating but I still really like Graystones as well.
street is absolutely an afterthought for graystones ,it feels far more catered to bmx/scooters than it does skateboards, especially with how the DIY section is now cut in half by 2 pump tracks so the DIY section has absolutely zero flow
Perfect vid while I’m deciding which one to go to 😂
Think I’m going to hit graystone as it’s easier for me! Closer to station. Im going in school holiday mate 15-19th (one of them days)
I'd say both are a similar distance from the train stations really. That does depend on which station your traveling too. I normally get off at Victoria in Manchester (Its where the tram stops) for Graystones and Warrington Bank Quay for Ramp 1. If you go to one of the Salford stations though they are Probably closer to Graystones.
Both parks are great and if you have the time it would be good to check them both out but I know school holidays are not ideal and its hard to balance skate time and time with the kids/family.
If I can get out I'd be down to come and meet up with you for a session. It all depends on time and when the missus is in work. I'm off all that week for the school holidays. It would be cool to film a day a met with you in true Sk8Comeback style with the sub titles rather than talking. Just filmed a day I met the other day with a sick skater. Just need to get a little bit of B footage then I'll be throwing it together. Got few other videos fist though.
@ completely understand mate. School hols can be difficult for us lot! I’ll be coming from Buxton so I’ll be getting off at Piccadilly station. I’ll keep you posted as to what day we travel to Manchester.
Cool. Hopefully we can catch up.
I need to hit graystones with you both soon, it looks incredible. Scott’s point about Ramp 1s opening hours cannot be understated, the fact you can go there whenever is incredible especially given the crap weather we have in the UK.
Yeah I think the opening time and price are the only thing to separate them really. I do think you will prefer Ramp 1 though as you like more street obstacles. Graystones is more transition based I feel, but it is still fun and I think you will enjoy all the moveable obstacles.
Nice parks! 🔥
Yes, we are very lucky to have 2 great parks not too far away from each other.
Cool video- thanks for filming my transfer at graystones other week 👍🏼
Thanks and I'm happy to film anytime. It was a great transfer.
Both great parks, I like ramp1 being 51 and returning to skateboarding after 33yrs. I can just roll round the plaza.
Not been to graystones since the mini, pump track where built
Keep up the great videos us oldies returning really enjoy 👊🏻
Thank you for the support, really appreciate it 👊
As for the parks if Ramp 1 was closer I would definitely go there more than Graystones as it suits my style of skating more. That said I do like Graystones too and I feel Graystones is a better fit for the outdoor parks around here. I can do things at Graystones that I can't at the outdoor parks. All in all the great to have the choice between the 2 of them.
Good video. A few years ago Ramp1 would have easily won for me as it had a huge bowl, a foam pit and a mini spine ramp. I do miss the bowl at Ramp1 but I still tend to enjoy skating there a little bit more than Graystone. But that might be because its only up the road from where I live!
Indeed. If Ramp 1 had the things you stated then it would easily be the best park. Its only the fact Graystones has things Ramp 1 doesn't that keeps it close. Then again if you spoke to someone who prefers to skate transition than street then maybe they would stay Graystones. I just prefer the street style of Ramp 1.
Both skateparks look great tbh.
Yes you're correct. They are both very nice skateparks. Very lucky to have both of them close enough to session regularly.
i feel like this really comes down to what type of skater you are
if you're a street skater there's not much for you at graystone (so ramp 1 is better), as the prefab DIY section was the only real street section and they've kind of ruined it by splitting it in 2 with the pump tracks, while ramp 1 doesn't have much transition and is mostly street focused so if you're a bowl skater you'll prefer graystone
i do wish they didn't add the big pump track (rhythm section) to graystone as it makes skating the DIY section not very fun as you cant do lines due to it being cut in half, and its so small now only 1 person can skate it at a time. fair enough if you're into pump tracks but the previous DIY section was great for street skating so as a street style skater its not really worth going anymore when cage and r1 exist
