The sad thing is that canonically this is incorrect, CatNap is under the influence of the prototype too. He may not be as bad as the others but he certainly locked DogDay up.

The storyline is like this:
Before CatNap came under Prototype's control, he was normal and friendly, but one day, Prototype managed to control all of Poppy's playtime characters except the smiling creatures, Kissy Missy and Poppy. Catnap says "Crafty said there is only one person left to save himself, but Dogday must survive too" so Catnap sacrifices himself so that DogDay is safe and not under the prototype's control.
I know the storyline doesn't make sense hehe, sorry about this video if you don't understand
