  • In this video, Eli focuses on how to remove seat belts from a Honda Civic, particularly after an accident when they are locked. He emphasizes that deployed seat belts need to be replaced or rebuilt to their original function. The tutorial details the removal process, starting with loosening the interior panels and disconnecting the car's battery to ensure safety while working with the airbag system. It highlights the presence of one, dual, or triple stage seat belts in modern cars, identifiable by yellow plugs, and describes the step-by-step process of disconnecting and removing the seat belt pre-tensioners and anchor tensioners.

    Thanks for this video! I need to replace a seat belt in 2009 Honda Civic for physical damage to the belt (it's frayed). If I disconnect the battery before disassembly, will I have any issues with the new (OEM) belt?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  2 месяца назад

      Yes, you can send your frayed seat belt, and we can change the seat belt webbing. No, you will not have any issues with the new OEM belt.

    I ran over a pot hole in the freeway and my seatbelt locked up, the covers popped out but the airbag didn’t deploy. But it made such a loud sound I thought I got hit and pulled over for a little bit. The airbag light came on. Idk what to do

      Looks like your seat belt deployed. This means there is a pyro sensor that goes off when the vehicle is in collision or hits something. The airbags did not deploy because vehicle either was not going fast enough or sensors did not sense a frontal collision. We can definitely help you and reset your airbag computer module and rebuils your seat belt. Check out myairbags.com

    So in my car only one seatbelt is locked up (the rest are fine and airbags were not deployed) and I plan on sending it to you guys, and my question is what do I do about the red airbag light on my dashboard (I have a 2010 civic lx).

      For Honda Civic check the seat belt buckle (the receiving end that has the red button). The buckles do go bad on Honda Civics. You can tell if its bad by looking at it to see if the buckle has collapsed (shrunk, pulled down, scrunched). It will also have a long cylinder tube at the bottom of the buckle where it pulls the cabe through collapsing/pulling the seat belt buckle down. We do also rebuild seat belt buckles

      Some seat belts may work okay but still can be bad. The best way to find out is to have the system sacnned for SRS codes. But if the seat belt is bad, then the airbag computer module will need to be reset as well. You can send seat belt(s) with airbag computer control module as well.

      I think I have same issue on my 2015 Honda civic. None of the air bags got deployed only LH seat belt locked. I did buy new one from an auto wrecker. Installed by mechanic but light still on. They did a free scan but nothing showed up on their ad 0 codes. They don’t know what to do.
      Idk to do. Plz help

    How do I remove the rivet above the seatbelt

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  7 месяцев назад

      The rivet does not need to be removed. It can stay there. Almost no one removes it. But if you do need it removed, there are rivet removal tools.

      Closest we have is a video on the CRV. Here on our RUclips channel:
      ruclips.net/video/j28guYqt3g4/видео.html
      We currently don't have a video on the HRV however CRV and HRV are very similar so this video should give you a general idea. We also have airbag module location lookup for almost any vehicle on our website. Heres the link directly to the lookup: www.myairbags.com/srs-airbag-control-module-location-lookup/
