Absolutely loved this one. Seeing Kindred blurring the line between world mythos and reality by tagging in for the warriors who were closing in on Tryndamere was really something special
I feel like he was still fighting the warriors but like kindred was a more spiritual thing
I didn't prepare my self to see Yasuo's death but here we are
No they showed that trynd isn't invincible when he uses ultimate it's that he fights off the spirit of death (kindred/wolf) it's a spiritual experience he goes through everytime he uses undying rage

Some fun lore - Kindred is the personification of both the violent and sweet embrace of death.
Tryndamere's ult makes him literally undying - he was fighting death itself and his wife Ashe came in to save him.
Morgana and Kayle are/were divine beings, touched by celestial power at birth, blah blah.
Morgana gave up/shunned her divinity to help humankind, embracing forgiveness and understanding while Kayle embraced hers, embodying cruel and unyielding justice.
That side-eye Kayle shot Morgana after she used her magic to defend that town/city could indicate the start of the rift that saw the sisters become foes.
I have to say this is my new favorite cinematic because the song was so good,also a lot of details that you can easily miss watching first time. But what made this cinematic ao good for me is how Trynd was actually fighting enemies near him and not the Kindred itself,and as last 2 die (to Ashe arrows) Kindred disappears as does his Undying rage. Really amazing what Riot did with this cinematic… also the look of disgust on Kayle when looking at Morgana was so nicely done…
Same, Trynda fighting for life is the best part from any cinematics. Perfection.

They should not have put Yasuo in it. Especially shouldn’t have confused people with an old Yasuo. That was all just to seel a skin..

The cinematic is about The Past, The Present and The Future.
The Past is of Kayle and Morgana, before they decided to go their separate ways of dealing with justice. It also explains how Aatrox already knows them despite not knowing Demacia itself, simply cuz at the time this happened Demacia wasn't Demacia yet.
The Future is of Yasuo, fighting one last time when Ionia got invaded again and at the end Kindred kills him while Yasuo accepting the arrow of the Lamb.
The Present is of Tryndamere, and his non acceptance of death, both by the Wolf and the Lamb, due to his partial "anger fueled blood magic. Everytime he ults he sees the actual death - Kindred , instead of his enemies.
that is also why only the lamb is in the yasuo part but both are in the trynd part. the lamb claims those who accept death peacefully, wolf chases those who run away from it.

Kindred my main, actually being in almost the whole cinematic. either lamb or wolf show up at every person's death in this. Fkn sick.
She was in all scenes of cinematic. At begging you can see Trynda looking lamb's shadow. Lamb also appears in Kayle flame. Then at the end of old man Yasuo scene you have Wolf shadow in the forest and lamb arrow killing Yasuo

At beggining you hear Kindred voice (it's Lol version of death reaper, presented as wolf and lamb). First part is past, Morgana and Kayle fighting Aatrox in Demacia, long long time ago. Mid part is old man Yasuo, using his power last time (notice, he is not killing those guys). Then you can see wolf shadow in forest and lamb arrow. That means Yasuo accepted death and died. Last clip is "now" in lore. Tryndamere ultimate ability is "Undying rage". That means literally that he is too pissed off to die. In this cinematic you can see his perspective, everytime when he is close to death he needs to face the death (Kindred). Actually he is fighting bad guys.

Ok, I've decoded it. Riot is changing Trynd's ult so that instead of making you unkillable it turns your opponent into Kindred and you have a 1 v1 minigame to decide if you die or not.

Anyone ragging on this cinematic for being boring has very different tastes than I. I love that all 3 scenes sold a story and pulled from existing lore. The nonstop action ones are cool, but I much more prefer the emotional weight that comes with this one. great pacing, great visuals, A+

Well you have to understand what measures must take an individual to accept defeat in peace, even in their own mind. Many of people cant do that at all. Thats actually pretty sad. Everybody deserves the Lamb, not the Wolf.
The sad part is that there's never been competition: LoL has always been bigger and more popular. By a landslide. Like, I remember when in 2019 (even before the pandemic), Riot mentioned LoL had 8 mln concurrent players.XD What is more, League alone has more active accounts than Steam. It's not even copium of DOTA2 players, it's something entirely different.:D Riot, on top of that, added Valorant, TFT and Wild Rift. Just wait for the MMO.;P

LOL. I lean towards stoic rather than expressive. They told me that at my first tournaments after I won, that audience (who doesnt know the game well) doesnt know if I won or not, based on my reactions. I learned to jubilate FOR the audience (not for myself). Perhaps I will start saying "wow, no way", while raising my eyebrows in order to become a better react andy. Thanks for your comment

What happened to aatrox after
All of Kindred's abilities are showcased or referenced during the fight with Tryndamere.
Wolf's Frenzy as Wolf relentlessly attacks Tryndamere.
Mounting Dread as Tryndamere's situation grows ever more dire.
Arrow Dance as Lamb jumps backwards to dodge Tryndamere's blade.
And finally, the ultimate, Lamb's Respite, as Lamb lowers the bow and calls off the hunt - for now.
@@bck2bck-750 Yes because Old Yasuo could still fight death and run away from it (he has been running away from it since he became a wanderer), and now that hes old, hes accepted his death, hence the wolf didnt come out first, and it was the arrow that shot him faster than the other arrows.

Kindred is the twin essence of death. The Lamb is the kind end for those who accept their fate, while the Wolf is the violent one for those who run from it. That's why Yasuo, who willingly gives his life to defend the villagers against bandits, gets shot by the Lambs arrow.
Tryndamere on the other hand doesn't give up when surrounded by a bunch of enemies and fights them. But instead of showing his fight against certain death by showing him kill his enemies, it is instead portrayed by him fighting Kindred (the death directly). Fitting to his ultimate, with which Tryndamere basically refuses to die because of his anger, he relentlessy fight death and manage to survive the attacks for some time. In the end he was still about to die by the two enemies behind him, which is why Kindred draws her bow, but Ashe shows up last second to save him, causing Kindred to lower her bow and leave.

9:20 if you care for the lore, his tribe got murdered by aatrox, in a fit of rage he attacked aatrox but got pummeled, instead of killing him Aatrox used blood magic on him that would activate through rage, willpower and vengeance not allowing him to die.
TLDR Aatrox forcefully gave Tryndamere the power to get so angry that he cant die.
Which is doubly fun because that's what Aatrox is cursed with. He will end the world because nothing can kill him, bound to an indestructible weapon
In the very first "lores" or origin stories of the first league champions often ended with something like "then they got bored of their burden/destiny and joined the league of legends to find new glory" or something like that.
Aatrox : cannot die
Yasuo : accepting his death
Tryndamere : refusing his death / die in glorious combat
Tryndamere not dying to the grim reaper because he's so angry gg
You should definitely check the video of necrit breaking down this cinematic and unfolding the details within it.
If you haven't seen any of the Worlds openers, i'd recommend you check out the 2019 worlds opening ceremony! Some of if not the best production ever in esports imo ^^ gives you a feel for peak LoL esports and Riot production.
i am main aatrox and seeing of the champ i love the most like that, man it was awesome, i love lol lore and i hate the fact that not a single champ that i play got a cinematic snd this was just pure happiness

When you play Amumu and maybe read his lore a bit, please watch his The Curse of the Sad Mummy music video. This one always hits me.
I think people can only appreciate this cinematic to the fullest if they know the lore behind the champions here. The details like Kayles look at Morgana or the Kindred vs Tryndamere fight or the Kindred Arrow hitting old Yasuo in the end. People that do not know the lore would not get these.
Funny, because people who talk about Kayle's look on Morgana in a negativ way are exactly the ones who don't know the lore.
@@itsgonnabeokay9341 I did not say that Kayle looks negatively towards Morgana. At this point in the lore they were still on good terms. And even later on they don't hate each other. They just have different moral standpoints and go seperate ways because of that but they still love each other.
I thought that the look is more like a worried look. Like she saw that Morgana put her sword away and retain Aatrox in her own way, which worked but also shows her growing distance towards their mother's ideals (or atleast what Kayle thinks Mihiras ideals are) symbolized by the swords that she sent to them. There was no hate in the look, just worry. Atleast that is how I interpret it. I also read somebody who said that the look is more of a "Oh that was your plan" look, which could also be true. But it is definitely no hate here.

For example the yasuo part means that after running away from his death, killing his brother in the process, he finally accepted death and is done running
Fun lore: Kindred are not the only death; they were all created by the Mask Mother, the other ones are Astral Fox, Fading Icon, Soulspinner, The Etherfiend and The Wings and The Wave being another pair Wings being death and Wave being life.

League had "lore" way back when but it came in the form of forum/website posts called something in the vein of "the Rift journals" or "the League chronicles" I don't remember, but they realized what htey were doing wasn't really a way to properly build something alongside the "League of Legends" so they kidna let it go (nuked it all) and they "relaunched" their lore thing in like 2014/2015 but struggled a bunch and had several iterations of several characters' stories (Ekko for instance) until they found their footing like 2 years later and now it's a bit of a slow dripfeed of things that have all been leading to 2 or 3 major events in the future (compared to most characters' in-game depiction). Outside of that are a few champions that really do not have a real reason to exist but have to have something written about them since they exist since before they cared about lore, and that's it
riot's cinematics team is absolutely unmatched, no other game comes even remotely close to being as good in this area
I'd say World of Warcraft is up there, but maybe not in the recent years.

Hey grubby. I think kindred deserves more then their teaser cinematic. So if you’re interested in getting some none reading lore I’d recommend the youtube video ”the lamb and the wolf - kindred voices” from the channel ”just another nobody” that edits kindreds voice lines to fit a nerative that works to show their charachter and lore. They also have other videos on champs that do the same and are good. If you ever find a champ you like but dont feel like reading. Probably better content for your stream aswell.

* Kayle looks like QTcinderella. who plays LOL and is also a presnter for the LCS (american lol esports)
* when morganna is screaming and falls to her knees. i think this is a shout out to the witcher when yennefer is using fire magic.

I'm suffering from a lack of WC3 videos from Grubby
Past, present, and the future. We see Kayle and Morgana before they split ways due to their ideologies of how justice should be achieved. Morgana’s wings aren’t broken yet and we already see Kayle disapproves of Morg’s use of dark magic. The swords they were using were passed down from their mother. We know eventually Morg abandoned hers and Kayle ends up wielding both. This scene in the cinematic might be when it officially happens since we see Kayle pick up Morganas sword. The future we see Yasuo fighting off another invasion of Ionia and it seems it’s his time to die. In one of the final shots we see the outline of Kindreds wolf in the forest and the arrow that’s gonna hit him is one of Kindreds arrows. He gracefully closes his eyes and accepts death. In the present we see Tryndamere fighting for his life. The cinematic implies that anytime tryndamere uses his ult magic he sees himself fighting death itself( in this world it’s Kindred). Towards the end Kindred lowers her bow just as tryndameres ult ends because Ashe ends up saving him. It was not his time to die yet.
Where was the sword guy when they burned the village down?
Aatrox the big red bad guy was an ascended when he was human, basically a demi god. He would fight off the powers of the void to protect his (now anicent) empire shurima with his fellow ascended. Many died but a few survived. Shurima fell and the ascended were sealed inside their weapons of choice. They were tortured for countless years and the previous ascended god-like beings were twisted into darkin. Now a darkin, aatrox has immense size and strength, if you called him a god you wouldnt be wrong, especially since hes killed celestials (literal gods). Darkins are now immortal, they can be defeated, but cannot ever die. Aatrox wishes to die, he wants nothing more than to have the sweet release from his torment that is life. He wages war throughout all existence seeking someone who can kill him.
Aatroxs story is amazing, he wants to die but cant, so he kills everything he sees until hes the only being left alive. He thinks that if he does that then he will finally die. Aatrox the world ender, the coolest champ in league IMO.

morgana and kayle as both the aspect of justice, but eventually they stray apart from each other, kayle became too celot and focus on the punishment side of justice, the absolutes, morgana while looking very evil is the more benevolent , she believes in redemption and has the ability to make people suffer through the pain the cause to others.
yasuo is the future yasuo, harden by life, very Rurouni kenshin, not trying to kill others.
tryndamere was fighting death itself as a representation of his ult in game and his unwillingness to die, eventualyl kindred stopped trying to kill him as he was going to be save by ashe, his wife in a way

Crouchingtigercranestyle in the twitch chat of this video. You'd like more blood? There was no blood in the Yasuo seen INTENTIONALLY. Not to child proof it. Yasuo was not killing any of them by choice. I could get into why and the lore but you likely don't care. If you do I recomend checking out someone like Necrit where this was talked about.
TLDR: If you can't be bothered then just trust that it wasn't child proofed, it wasn't actually cutting the guys. It was just knocking them down n out. The last guy was pushed "away" from the incoming rain of arrows that would have killed him.

So from what i understand, the champs are continuously fighting each other but there is no real plot moving forward in the aspect of them dying? If so, they have been putting these cinematics for more than 10 years without casualties, without any real stakes and results - just as an eye candy, doesn't it get boring?
No they do have lore. Champs do die, but temporarily e.g Gangplank. Important side characters always take the hit

I know league is 13+ or something but this cinematic is so lame like it is made for kindergarten kids. A lot of posing, unnesessary slo-mo, and of course a modern tiktok singer who tries too hard but just cant say words normally thats why uses weird intonations and everyone thinks its stylish.
