Saw Shooting Star Back when Hang on fire your Life came out At a Little Club in San Francisco called The OLD Waldorf 2 1/2 Hours of Kick you in The Cajones Rock and Roll and then They became obscure for some Damn reason !! This Band kicked Major Ass live!!
people talk about Stairway to heaven, Bohemium Rhapsody, Smoke on the water etc... this song should be revered in the same way. An absolute anthem.....
💥I agree it DOES belong where most bands wish they had such a song that is worthy! Like : Dust in the wind Heaven and hell & like 7-8 Zep songs lol That’s sayin somthin bout Zep also✔️
This band Shooting Star is a masterpiece of music and is a prophetic view into the world of the end we are living in now. I saw them in Rochester NY in 1981 i believe....they were simply AWESOME
Saw these guys open up for Kansas pt . II, Rush and Triumph. Why they didn't get more recognition is beyond me. They always put on a solid show and sometimes showed up the bands they opened for. Now, when I discovered their music at the tender age of 11; which their music was on an top of the hour rotation on KATT. FM in Okc. Again, why they failed recognition. Is a question to be revisited. Side note: in the early 80s they would open their sets with song. On big openers, they would end their set with a 30-45 minute encore of this great track. Thank you, Gawd, for putting me in the right place; right time, for this awesome band.
Interestingly, before they became famous they Jammed in a garage several houses down from where I grew up, my oldest sister remembers them, I was just a baby, but I do remember music and drum banging when I was outside, and that was in Kansas..lol
Released when I was in highschool. World's most underrated band. Ohio loved this Kansas band VERY much. Saw them several times. Dayton Ohio at UD Arena and Bogart's on Vine St, I believe, where they recorded a live show for CD. Packed with about 2,000 loyal fans, sounded exactly like the records we listened to so many times. A great stage to perform upon, I played there before in my band. Awesome place near University of Cincinnati campus. Thanks for sharing. I heard Van McClain wasn't feeling well. Does anyone know if he's doing well now? Excellent Channel. Subbed.🎉 Blessings. - Ohio ♥️☀️. ••• Stop by the Channel sometime. #SunSimLord
When the stranger came to town All the people watched with wonder In their tattered clothes Gathered 'round and raised their eyes up from the dirt And the stranger said to them I have been upon the mountain I have witnessed forces like cannons that can ram you to the ground Stand up on your feet 'Cause your life is short as hell You could be dead tomorrow Today may be you're last chance To believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance To be good to yourself Your last chance To drink from life's well In the crowd a voice was heard Should you get them before they get you? Should we strike the first blow? He said, No No No you don't understand The enemy is in your heart Self respect robbed by self pity Look across the country All the people with their dreams dead in their hearts Stand up on your feet 'Cause your life is short as hell You could be dead tomorrow Today may be you're last chance To believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance To be good to yourself Your last chance To drink from life's well And drink from the well Oh yeah It could be you're last chance To believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance To be good to yourself Your last chance To drink from life's well Drink from the well Oh yeah Drink from the well....
Thanks for posting this Luis...these guys jammed in a garage down the street from my house when I was a little guy, my oldest sister remembers them well
Indeed! I just happened to get a youtube suggestion for another Shooting Star album. I to myself, "man this band sounds familiar." So I googled it and here I am. I remember this on the radio.
It's to bad that Steve Thomas on the drums and other original members of Shooting Star are not there because after Steve Thomas left, the band went down hill big-time

Been listening to this Shooting Star from the beginning. This is definitely a classic anthem that delivers a clear message.
lol. Not even close. But great voice.
You're right, it's far better than all of those overrated songs; they aren't even close.

These guys were awesome! Reminded me of Kansas, back in the day! This song has a prophetic message! Well ahead of its time!

Sounds like Kansas crossed with Styx.

Grew up with this amazing
When the stranger came to town
All the people watched with wonder
In their tattered clothes
Gathered 'round and raised their eyes up from the dirt
And the stranger said to them
I have been upon the mountain
I have witnessed forces like cannons
that can ram you to the ground
Stand up on your feet
'Cause your life is short as hell
You could be dead tomorrow
Today may be you're last chance
To believe in yourself
Your last chance to yell
Your last chance
To be good to yourself
Your last chance
To drink from life's well
In the crowd a voice was heard
Should you get them before
they get you?
Should we strike the first blow?
He said,
No No No you don't understand
The enemy is in your heart
Self respect robbed by self pity
Look across the country
All the people with their dreams
dead in their hearts
Stand up on your feet
'Cause your life is short as hell
You could be dead tomorrow
Today may be you're last chance
To believe in yourself
Your last chance to yell
Your last chance
To be good to yourself
Your last chance
To drink from life's well
And drink from the well
Oh yeah
It could be you're last chance
To believe in yourself
Your last chance to yell
Your last chance
To be good to yourself
Your last chance
To drink from life's well
Drink from the well
Oh yeah
Drink from the well....

Speed is clearly off on that turntable. Digital is fine by itself.
