I love these "cause of death" videos. You bring people that have been gone for so long and forgotten back to life, at least for a little while by acknowledging them. It's wonderful that you take the time to do this. It makes them so much more than just a tombstone. Keep up the good work and may God bless you.
I agree, completely!!
May all those buried in those cemeteries rest in peace 🙏
Thank you very much Leo and Heather for telling their stories as best as you possibly can. Take care. 😊
I was in the 2 cemeteries across from my house the other day and found at least 2 civil war graves and a few ww1 graves!!! I go for 2 to 3 mile walks and when I get in there I start looking and clearing off veterans graves!!😎💪🇺🇸🙏
Hey are you in Virginia, West Virginia, or Kentucky? I’ve been searching for some lost family graves of the last name Lee! ❤ would be awesome if you happened to stumble upon them!! 😊
Heather and Leo, looking up the finding history makes you two the best YTers!! You prove the purest of hearts come from the mountains. Thank you!!!!!
Thanks for that!
That would be a peaceful place to rest. You could see everything around you. Be close to nature and no one to bother you. Thank you for sharing
Another beautiful cemetery. I love how there is a church like setting on the mountain top, just a beautiful and amazing thing to see, thanks for sharing such a beautiful place
love how you give us their story and bring them to life! made me cry today, just buried my Mom last week.
Thank you, and very sorry to hear about you mom. Heather and I have both been down that road.
Thank you!@@thehillbillyfiles
Alot of good ol country folks buried there , you are loved ❤❤
It's good when people remember those family and friends who have passed on, and keep their resting place mowed and free from overgrowth. We needs some of that rain down here to stop some of the fires. Great video! Thanks!
Another great podcast , THANK-YALL very much for posting these OL' history shows 🩸 PEOPLE TODAY don't understand how hard these people had it & NOW I'm in my 70's & I was brought up hard , we had nothing but we didn't know we was poor ‼️I wish kids would take more interest in the history of our country and the history of state , family and what it was like ‼️ So sad to never know your past 🙏🏼😤😎
Thank you for your special attention to detail. The Marcum Cemetery is my family Cemetery. You named many of my relatives, including my Dad and uncles. Some of the babies are my uncles and aunt. My siblings and I travel from Massachusetts and try to meet other more local family members on Labor Day each year for a reunion in Cabwaylingo Park. The cemetery is cleaned then and several other times during the year. I'm very grateful for this video. God bless you.
My grandmother's mother was Marcum and father Montgomery
Sarah Jane Marcum and Seth Montgomery
The first thing I awe at,at the beginning of this video was the huge tree goin in the graveyard. It's so beautiful there. Nice shelter and everything y'all show us and all the history u go through to tell us, so much appreciated.. I miss Tennessee, when seeing the trails and mountains. Thank y'all both for sharing
Love the visits to cemeteries and especially when you looking for someone specific
You do a great job and then you go home and look up the names of the deceased to see what you learn of these people who have gone before us. The music is most befitting. Thanks to you both out on a rainy day making this vlog
Hope you don't get a cold. Night! 12:22 12:22 12:22 12:22
I love how y'all go out, any weather and find our dearly departed...y'all dont center on one family but you find the most remote and give those you find a voice....Good job of "keepin it real" you guys !!!!
I truly admire you for going out on such a nasty day to visit those people in a cemetery. I certainly hope that you don't become ill from this experience. From what I can see in the video, it is a truly beautiful place. Thank you Leo for taking me along.
Y'all my hat is off to you the history you find about these people is something we can all be prode of
Thank you for documenting all these lost lives. I had never heard of “find a grave” But have been able to update my own family.
Thank yall for a nice video.
No particular agenda. Just bringing light to tgese poor souls. That is a pretty place to be buried, much better looking place than most when they're just out like this. Someone must be maintaining it.
Thank ya'll for bringing life to all these folks. An awful lot of young ones and infants.
God bless ya'll and ya'll stay safe on your travels out there.

Such a nice visit. Thank you.
Some of the older cemeteries in North Georgia have those shelters also where they used to conduct outdoor funeral services during inclement weather. And some of them have the similar little shelters over the graves like y'all saw in the murdered man cemetery in Jenkins Kentucky. But up here in the northern part of Michigan Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota if you see the native first Nation cemeteries the little shelters over each grave is a very common practice. And I noticed the particular cemetery you're in they have the old thread and needle plants. Which is a very common way you can date an older cemeteries. Keep the good work coming we sure enjoy your videos up here in Michigan's upper peninsula, there is a lot of transplanted hillbillies up here 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed this. I love history and looking at old tombstones.
I love your videos. Some of the same surnames are also in my area. (South Dakota). Ferguson is one of those in this area. There have been Hatfields in this area also. Thanks so much for your very informative presentations!

I'm so fascinated. Thank you for doing the foot work. My roots run deep in W.V. I had my DNA done at Ancestry. The Bramwell area. I cant wait to come back and explore. I'm wondering if youve looked at cemeteries in that area and made videos? I love your channel!!
We haven't got that way yet, but we have just been doing this a little over a year, so many places =)

VA 7599 refers to an orchiectomy/removal of one or both testicles as related to service related disability.
"There is a tradition that states that the crescent moon is there (in outhouse doors) because the moon is often associated with women (menses and so forth); and that, therefore, it was an early symbol marking women's outhouses, with the male equivalent being a sun or star symbol."
thank you
I wonder if spinal trouble could have been spinal meningitis.
Very possible
Sir, my family is buried in Marcum Cemetery. If you would like more information on some of the residents in there, my mother can help you. She has our family history of marriages.
I didn't hear you say which cemetery this was?
And is it under find a grave?
I think it was Davis, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, we usually update them as we go along.
@@thehillbillyfiles so the sign at 23 min says Ferguson!
Looking through FindAGrave, it seems like the Marcums have had more than their fair share of tragedy.
"Sulrilda" is a very unique lady's name 😮. Other spellings are still rare. Have never seen this spelling.
My Birthday is Dec5 too. I only met 2 people ever that share my day

If the frogs are out, the snakes are probably still out.
