. the beautiful tour of the Breaks and Richard Potter's story. I loved the little Log Cabin, I'm so glad that it's being taken care of. I'd spend the weekend in it with a good rocking chair for the front porch and an iron skillet and a place to build a fire, or bring a grill along. Thanks for taking us on the beautiful tour, I hope that you and Heather have a great weekend 😊

Richard Potter is my great x5 grandpa ..you should look into the way the breaks got the land ( potter flats ) from the last residents that lived there and do a story on it ..

My mom and dad almost fell to the bottom of the breaks before they even got married the preacher and their best friend caught them and pulled them back. Thank God for him.

It is just beautiful and it's hard to believe he owned all that beautiful land I looked up his grave and it said he was buried under the tree that he always went to meditation I sure he had no idea that his land would become a national park show his will and says he left his oldest daughter 1100 acres upon his death for her to live there until her death and then it would go to her children what a beautiful place so peaceful thank you for taking us with you and Leo don't listen or follow sirra she took yo almost 50 miles out of your way and to a dead-end with no cell service but I knew you would find your way to where you wanted to go and then she wanted you to drive 652 miles to get there she is crazy ... but she didn't get you the second time😅 careful going home and tell Heather hi and her beef stew looked yummy 😊

The Breaks is my favorite place and a awesome place it is. I remember visiting Richard's grave, but I don't think Teeny is buried there with him. I think Teeny inherited that land from her father. Their son, the Civil War soldier, Andrew Potter was a colorful character. Thanks Leo, for the great video!

Did you hear that Devil Anse’s great grandson, James Anderson “Anse” Howes from Sarah Ann, WV. He passed the end of October at 95. I knew him all my life and his wife, Thelma, who had already passed, and his sons who still live in the area. His obituary is online at Collins Funeral Home at Switzer, WV. Thought you might want to know.

@laurabrooks7655, my family was from neighboring Lawrence County. When I was a young girl in the 1960’s I had a hard time figuring out what a “dry” county was and why. LOL! I grew up in southern WV and remember my cousins going to the ABC store in WV to buy their whiskey! 😃😃😃
