6:09 nobody appreciates how clean these slides are. goes against every genre of guitar playing ever written.. just sounds so unbelievably clean when he does it. i tried replicating & it took me a loooong long time to get just that 3 second part right
Lowkey one of the dopest pieces of music I’ve ever heard, bro. Probably watched this music video 50 times since it dropped. Def feels like a piece of music royalty.
In case you didn't know, Steve Vai is a shred/prog guitar legend, and him being on the throne then being back to back with Scottie and Tim is, like, an acceptance into his echelon of playing. The way this was filmed, on top of the incredible performance by EVERYONE (bassist and drummer don't get enough credit!), made me tear up. Vai is a guitar legend. Check out Tender Surrender, Bad Horse, or For The Love of God!
Bruh, your intial 4 beat head bang into pause starting at 8:39 is 100% legit...the vibe is too much. You know you are one w the music at that point. One of my favorite snippets of the song.
Fr first video watching this guy and you can tell he feels the song the saaame way I do. Im guessing he stepped away to wipe his eyes cuz that part gets me teary every time.
art, at it’s finest no doubt, the guys in Polyphia genre-bend beyond any physical or emotional reach with their intricacies when it comes to arpeggiated notes and odd time signatures, and getting the G himself Steve Vai on this track will further immortalize it in eons to come, Polyphia have cemented their legacy for sure🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
This has become my favorite Polyphia song. Your reaction solidifies that, just so much musical talent on display. My emotions didn't get a rest on my first listen. I get you. Oh...and it's Steve V"eye"...no disrespect but yeah...that's it.
This track is absolutely perfect. Even better than Playing God. It's fun how Polyphia gave us a little candy with a pop song (ABC), just like they tried to lower our expectations, and then they kill everything with this diamond-cut composition. Love how, on the clip, they start in a white room, then go higher in the building to end on the roof, with Steve on the throne. They finish free, in the air, in front of the sunset, with this clean trumpet vibes in the end... God, even the clip is so clear !
I also don't see it mentioned enough how they start with bright and attention grabbing clothing and are in the center shots, they take turns on the throne (Scott and Tim), then on the roof, they are all together, wearing black and essentially taking a backseat to Steve.....and ego death as they become the backing band, if you will.
In the end of the video they see Vai as the last level, he is the precursor to their style, but the reason why we see the trumpet guy from Brasstracks in the same level as Vai and after him, it's because his genre and his style are the oldest ones and the precursor to all of them in terms of music. Rock and roll came from African beats, jazz and such. They were presenting their respects to the music in general. Masterful and inspiring! That trumpet section gives me the chills and it's such a beautiful thing that they put it there. There are sections in this song that have made me shed some tears. Badass instrumental music!
10:18 Made me tear up....Seeing Scott,Tim, and Steve all back to back to back with each of the parts layered on top of one another, creating the most sensual sound, I done ever received through My ear canals in a VERY long time. All i had to say was "Gawdamn..."
Fun fact that most people missed, both Tim and Scott also sat on the same throne/chair as Steve earlier in the video, but Steve's entrance is the only scene that made the throne prominent.
Going to see Steve Vai AGAIN on Oct 15th in Macon, Ga... been in love with his style since his DLR and the movie "Crossroads" days! One of the few artists I will go see until one of us takes our last breath! Now I learn of Polyphia and Tim Henson thru him... a whole vibe, a lifelong gift, of next level music that makes me look forward to life!
little insight on the 'perfection' vibe. They play to a click live, a metronome in ear, so a lot of Tim Henson's production is timed out perfectly to fit a live performance.
Glad to see that this song hit someone hard like it does me. First song by Polyphia that I’ve heard. And just like that, became one of my favorite groups. And then you add Steve Vai to the mix, and it’s not even fair. I can’t even go a day without listening to this song at least once a day. Polyphia is now on all my playlists. Happy you love it as well
They just did a US tour with another band called Unprocessed and it was great. I highly recommend checking out some of Unprocessed's music as well, they have some great tracks. Haven, Abandoned, and The Longing would be my go to recommendations
I just love your enthusiasm and the sheer joy that you show when you are listening to and commenting on this. I fully agree with you .Polyphia are right at the cutting edge just now and it is great that they are starting to break through to a wider audience.
Man I feel like Steve Vai is speaking to you. You should really check him out. Tender Surrender and For The Love Of God are two amazing songs. His live playing is stellar if you end up wanting to react to him. Highly recommend! He's easily one of Polyphia's major influences.
I'm with you dude. The first time I heard this yeah I was out walking my dog late at night and I just suddenly felt this overwhelming urge to cry. I wasn't sad. I just knew I was hearing something genuinely special.
One of the best reactions to this song. I was making a lot of the same faces when I first saw/heard the video 😂 Once in a generation talent from guys in Polyphia. Massive respect to Steve Vai for recognising the new generation of guitar players, always was an innovator.
I think I've listened to this song like..... over a hundred times since it released lol Also your intro was like a whole damn movie preview and it was amazing!
Don't know who you are but this is to me the best and most honest reaction you gave there. This guy is feeling it up in his bones! He knows music! Love it bro
You know what would break the internet? If Polyphia did a collab with Dax (or Tom Macdonald) on vocals! Go ahead, try and tell me that wouldn’t be absolutely epic…
I think itd be better if they did a colab with an electronic music composer like liquid stranger, subtronics, excision or someone. Itd fit well with their music to have a really talented bass producer behind their instrumentals
I not to comment on videos let alone through a double comment but I gotta say I'm glad you found your way to Polyphia and can appreciate it. They're a different animal. If you dig Polyphia check out Scale the Summit. Similar in ways but they got their own style. Listening to them is how I found Polyphia.
Adore this Polyphia performance with Steve Via, completely outstanding, epic, i feel so honoured to hear these guys live in my lifetime. And this reaction vid is the best.😍🤩
They are definitely making love to their instruments One of the best tracks and bands out these days They deserve to blow up even more than they already have
TOO LIT TOO NASTY Boom! tshirt right there lol These guys are from the Dallas area. Theyre awesome in concert. ive actually seen them twice with one of my favorite bands, Dance Gavin Dance. Check these out •"We Own The Night" •"Inspire The Liars" •"Man Of The Year (Tree City Sessions 2 performance)"
Polyphia: fit an impossible amount of clean and tasteful notes into time and space. Steve Vai: warps time and space. Both super impressive from a virtuosity standpoint and my jaw was dropped the whole time. But Steve’s intro is what really broke my brain. How do you write something like that?
Severals years i follow them. This one's a masterpiece. Just Hope they'll work with singers, they already do it, one time, but it would be fabulous. So hip hop. Thank you
Whats even cooler is that every 30 seconds on the dot is a whole different song, this shit is like their whole album put into one song. Like 10 songs in 1! And also Tim on the throne at the bottom of the building, then Scottie on the middle floor and then the guitar god on a throne on the roof is so sick. Being called Ego Death because Vai "is at the top on the throne" so good
My brother plays guitar, and he would absolutely nerd out to you about the "tone shifting" that Steve does 🤣 Also, its Vai like "eye" Also also please react to more dubstep ^^ Keep grinding, big bro! I'm here for it~
Great reaction, epic track. I dig the way you let your emotions out, they look like they are gonna bust you apart man. You wanna check out some other Steve Vai stuff, like For The Love Of God, Tender Surrender, Yankee Rose, the whole Fire Garden album, all the stuff he did with Frank Zappa... Also, dunno if you're aware, someone really should have said something, but your hairs on fire 🔥🤣
# of repeats on my phone says 721. Depressing it isn't 1000. I don't leave it playing overnight, I make sure I'm awake to listen to it all day long. Ego Death will be a #1 Polyphia hit for me IMHO. Way too close to perfection.
Mah man, I agree with you 100%. I found it weird that you didn't mention their looks too. Their kicks and gear. However this SHOULD be the song of the year. The band of the year. Best collaboration. Best album of the year too. This is PERFECTION.
Loving the content brotha been watching for at least a year and a half. 🤘🤘 Check out Drown in Sulphur - Epilogue to the Arrogant. You'll be sleeping on them if not.
If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard of, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with Gods and Gold. It features Richard Z Kruspe, one of the guitarists of the band Rammstein
Thank you for the sincerity in your video, you've earned yourself another subscriber my friend. I appreciate the thoughtfulness with pronouncing Steve's last name, his last name is pronounced like Vi-olin. I really recommend checking out Steve's new Hydra Video: Steve Vai - Teeth of the Hydra (Official Music Video) If you want to see Steve's insane ability It's a must watch my friend. Thank you for the content.
The best song I’ve heard in months, Polyphia is just pushing their music to new heights
Preach my guy! Polyphia keeps elevating guitar playing! Even Steve Vai said Tim and Scottie are the new innovative guitar gods
I see you in the most random places I wouldn't expect you to see
HOLY SHIT it doesnt matter what im into lately you always fucking show up thats so impressive
Bro why are you here hahaha
Never fails to be at the top of the comment section XD
11:51 “if you love music, this is the one”. Perfect description. Polyphia put it the same way. This album is for fans of all things music.
6:09 nobody appreciates how clean these slides are. goes against every genre of guitar playing ever written.. just sounds so unbelievably clean when he does it. i tried replicating & it took me a loooong long time to get just that 3 second part right
That's Scott Lepage for you. Tim will fukk you up too XD
same man those slides are so fucking clean scottie seriously doesnt get enough credit
Lowkey one of the dopest pieces of music I’ve ever heard, bro. Probably watched this music video 50 times since it dropped. Def feels like a piece of music royalty.
You are the personification of what I feel while listening to good music.
Couldn't agree more, the Clays dont get enough credit, and the fact that Steve Vai was excited and honored to be in a polyphia track says a lot!!!
people like steve and joe satriani dont get enough credit for paving the way for this kind of musics existence
Then the ending where they face the real OG, the trumpeter, and then they give you the sunset. It’s all far too cool.
And 'whispering a prayer'
Makes me tear up too. So much emotion in this song.
Bruh, your intial 4 beat head bang into pause starting at 8:39 is 100% legit...the vibe is too much. You know you are one w the music at that point. One of my favorite snippets of the song.

You gotta seem them live man. I saw them live in Chicago this summer and let me tell you, best musical experience I've ever had.
I was at that show. It was the best concert I've seen in years. Unprocessed killed it too.
i wish they didnt cancel both their show from last year and the rescheduled date this year
Scottie looks like he's having fun, Tim looks like he's crafting perfection, and I love how they brought in Steve.
This has become my favorite Polyphia song. Your reaction solidifies that, just so much musical talent on display. My emotions didn't get a rest on my first listen. I get you. Oh...and it's Steve V"eye"...no disrespect but yeah...that's it.
their music can literally make me cry on how beautiful it is
Watching this got me ready to learn the guitar, bass, drums, and trumpet all at the same time.
This track is absolutely perfect. Even better than Playing God. It's fun how Polyphia gave us a little candy with a pop song (ABC), just like they tried to lower our expectations, and then they kill everything with this diamond-cut composition.

It’s pronounced “vye” but such a classic guitarist joining the next forerunners in musicality is a milestone in music
Fun fact that most people missed, both Tim and Scott also sat on the same throne/chair as Steve earlier in the video, but Steve's entrance is the only scene that made the throne prominent.
Great Reaction !!! Precision 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 And Stevie Vai, pronounced "Vi", he is an awesome guitarist.

This is the reaction that best matches my first listen. Your energy is too good my dude. Love it.
Glad to see that this song hit someone hard like it does me. First song by Polyphia that I’ve heard. And just like that, became one of my favorite groups. Unprocessed is amazing.
@@Alran109 Agreed. Very underrated/not very well known
Love Unprocessed, would add Dinner to the recommendations as well
I've had this song in my head 24 hours a day for 2 weeks, literally!!
I just love your enthusiasm and the sheer joy that you show when you are listening to and commenting on this. I fully agree with you .Polyphia are right at the cutting edge just now and it is great that they are starting to break through to a wider audience.
I love when the music really hits hard to the point that the reactions look like you might tear up. 💯😂👍
Man I feel like Steve Vai is speaking to you. You should really check him out. Tender Surrender and For The Love Of God are two amazing songs. His live playing is stellar if you end up wanting to react to him. Highly recommend! He's easily one of Polyphia's major influences.

I have not ever heard better music before in my life. Insanity !!
One of the best reactions to this song. I was making a lot of the same faces when I first saw/heard the video 😂
Once in a generation talent from guys in Polyphia. Massive respect to Steve Vai for recognising the new generation of guitar players, always was an innovator.
Man you are so entertaining to watch on these!
Love your channel broski, keep it up! ~sending Love~
My favourite reaction to this song. Thanks so much for doing what you do bro, keep it up!
I think I've listened to this song like..... over a hundred times since it released lol

Don't know who you are but this is to me the best and most honest reaction you gave there. This guy is feeling it up in his bones! He knows music! Love it bro
Oh my days YEEEESSSS I love them they are talented as hell

Been watching you for a couple years now bro riding this journey with you. Always a genuine raw good time. You're 100% invited to the BBQ my guy

Really a good reaction.. so satisfying
come back to watch this like 30 times. Vibing hard as f with your take👑
Love how at 8:44 you could feel the extra beat coming in and as soon as you got it you were like, "YUUUP LETS GO"
And then right at the end, they stop and look up to where it all began, a blues man with a trumpet.
Love your reactions baby. Keep em comin. Stay lit.
You gotta react to Steve Vai’s live performance of Tender Surrender dude
Side note since i didn't see anyone else say it, Steve Vai is the guy doing the guitar work on the halo 2 intro...just so you know!!
WTF! This is the song of the year!!!😱
FYI: Steve "Vai" rhymes with the letter "i".
You the man! Check out Steve Vai - "Bad Horsie"
I love this song, and you are 💯 about their artistry!
just subbed off that reaction 🙌🏼🔥
Polyphia: fit an impossible amount of clean and tasteful notes into time and space.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but Polyphia is awesome live. saw them years ago when they came to The Camel here in Richmond, VA.
That’s my dude Ivan from Brasstracks!!!!!!
I legit get chills every single time I listen to this song. 1st time or 100th time doesn't matter.
Dance Gavin Dance-Synergy
Makes sure you checkout them doing Playing God, Crush and GOAT
My brother plays guitar, and he would absolutely nerd out to you about the "tone shifting" that Steve does 🤣

Great review too BTW
Your reaction is priceless 🤙🏼

Long time huge fan, main reason I play Ibanez!... Fan since he was with Frank Zappa. ....
Dude we need an Electric Callboy Hurrikan reaction immediately
It’s two mins long and you’ll smash the views. You are the best RUclipsr ever! You inspired me with adding lit to the name.
If someone doesn't get Polyphia to play this man's wedding....
NICE!!
Can confirm they are excellent live 😊
Mah man, I agree with you 100%.
I found it weird that you didn't mention their looks too. Their kicks and gear.
However this SHOULD be the song of the year.

I still like their first EP the most.
When he mentioned raging n going in n paused I screamed nooooo lol wait ten more seconds
as soon as you paused and said "why is this not bigger? this is musicianship...", i immediately paused and liked the vid.
If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard of, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with Gods and Gold. It features Richard Z Kruspe, one of the guitarists of the band Rammstein
