  • Traveling the TET Poland on a HP2 Enduro
Before embarking on my TET Poland adventure on my HP2 Enduro, I had my doubts. 🤔 The bike I chose, lovingly named Baboon, had been sitting idle in South Africa for about 6 years. 🏍️ I only changed the seals, oils, and some bearings - not the most reassuring preparation for a 1500km journey! 😬
The bike was already in Poland, stored at my uncle's place, so I flew to Warsaw with my MoskoMoto bags, determined to treat it as an adventure. 🌍 However, upon arrival, I couldn't start the bike because the battery I'd shipped from Vienna via DHL hadn't arrived yet. 😱 After tracking it, I found out it was already in Poland and just needed to be picked up.
Once the battery arrived, I hurriedly prepared the bike, checked the oil, packed my bags, and bought some flapjacks for the road - a personal favorite. 😋 Finally, I took the bike for a short test ride to ensure everything was in working order. It was, so I was all set to start my journey the next day! 🌄
And so, the adventure began. I first headed to Hajnowka and started my TET route from there, heading south. The first day was mostly paved roads, covering 400km in one go before I stayed in Pulawy for the night. 🌆
The second day brought more off-road challenges, with sandy terrain that both thrilled and tested my riding skills. The loose front tire due to the weight made it even more challenging. 😅
Day 3 got even better with small hills, ups and downs, and a bit of mud. I encountered one particularly deep rut left by a car or tractor, causing my HP2 to nearly get stuck and scrape its cylinder heads on both sides. It was all part of the fun, though! 🏞️
In the end, I can confidently say that the HP2 Enduro, aka Baboon, handled the TET Poland adventure surprisingly well, considering its history. 🙌 I'll also share my thoughts on how it compares to riding a 1250GS. 🤔
Oh, and if you're wondering, tackling the TET Poland is totally doable with a GS, especially in dry conditions and if you enjoy navigating deep sand! 🌞🏍️🌟
