I just got this for christmas. This is my very first box as an adult- and not as a kid with a tote of legos.
I absolutely love it! I had a lot of fun building it. The ship is sleek with such a nice design. It doesn't feel like a lego set at all whatsoever.
I don't think ill be getting into such a hobby, as it is expensive and takes up a lot of space, but having just one set makes me so happy!
Okay, okay, MAYBE just one more set. Like- a good ol fashion TIE fighter but that's it 😂

That pilot is the one that should have come with the SF Tie fighter. The original pilot was for the standard tie fighter without the red markings (Oversight by Lego). Will definitely be ordering some on their own.
I love when triggers for spring loaded missiles are nicely integrated with whole build like here.
The red marks on the pilots helmet means he's a Flight Sergeant

A while later.. just bought this and building it was an absolute joy.
I`m probably going to get two more to build a a large cruiser sometime in the future.
I knew the set would be $80-$90. Star Wars ships are always way over priced because it's Star Wars and a ship. I got the tie striker for $25 on a super clearance, and Poe damerons x wing for $40 so I'll just wait till end of 2018.
This is tight, really enjoying these reviews. Has me beyond excited for Force Friday :)

The TIE Pilots with the red markings are Special Forces Pilots, while the guys with no red markings are regular pilots.
Pretty sure the model is called a TIE Silencer, but it makes sense why LEGO would call it Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter

I just got this for 50 bucks at a yard sale in 2024 that’s crazy they’re over $250 or so for one brand new so I got a steal😊

I bought it for my birthday, 06/27/2023, the cheapest offer in 6 months was $170 with delivery, excellent on the shelf, beautiful set, whoever bought it then is now more valuable as a used one..

MandRproductions, the minifigure mentioned at about 4:50 is not a regular TIE Fighter Pilot, it is the Special Forces TIE Fighter Pilot, the red accents tell you that it's in the Special Forces division of the First Order.

The difference with the stormtrooper is the mouth design. The new one has a sharper mouth area

They should have committed to making it minifig scale, it's sligjtly too small, just needed a bit more in the cockpit area. Hoping the remake it in the future and not make it worse

The red markings on the Tie pilot signifies that he is a special forces pilot. So if you have the Force Awakens Special Forces Tie Fighter you could put him in there. Its kind of annoying that they didn't include him in the Tie Fighter that he belongs in. But don't look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess.
You could probably easily convert it to a normal Tie Interceptor.

Really nice set. Nice to have artwork on the side of the box. Shame mine had an unremovable sticker slapped over it by the Korean quality control authorities despite there being a huge white space on the other side of the box. Grrrrrr!

Just wanted to note that whatever the red part is on the back, it actually isn't the engine. TIE stands for Twin Ion Engine and they emit a blue light - thus those blue technic pieces on the back.
Doesnt it bug you when you cant fit all the minifigs and weapons in the ship lol
Not really. I like getting more minifigs. Makes the set feel more valuable.

I so need this set! Kylo is why I'm here and why I wanna get this set. And the other sets are kind of bland. And snoke looks very odd :P But this set is probably the best right next to the Walker.
