Great Show. I think it had every major actor from every major western ever made in the past 75 years! The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Rawhide, to name a few and then top it all off with Police Woman.

I am sitting in Mail, West Africa, watching this western of westerns. Ah, the mythology of the West. I grew up on a ranch in Montana. I felt the heavenly air and watched the Milky Way arch across the sky every night. I drove a pickup truck with a gun rack in the back and a pistol under the seat. I rode bareback and bulls in local rodeos, and I branded and cut cattle. I loved the West and the life. Movies like this make me want to leave my job and go back to heaven on earth. Sigh.

He was really a good actor and was filming during the Hollywood MGM Studio Days.
Bet he was the most "regular guy", just a really good guy.
I knew and met several Stars and Entertainers, but I never met Richard. The ones I was close or acquainted to, were exactly like what they appeared in interviews and often on screen. Debbie Reynolds comes to mind.
Miss her and so many more on this plane.
      Awesome gifts they left us.

Chuck Connors will always be my favorite western hero. I've watched and rewatched all 168 episodes of the Rifleman over the years but ironically never when originally aired from 1958 to 1963, only in syndication or on line. As the rifleman, Lucas McCain slayed more bad guys than most top gunfighters ever hoped for all while raising Mark, keeping a ranch and teaching good morals.

Finally as an old man a western I can relate to. It sucks to go from a kickass. Soldier to an old man incapable of some of the simplest things in your youth, and it was yesterday I was running up a mountain with full pack and a rifle. Life is short and gets shorter as you move on.

The only thing that makes sense to me, at the age of 60 one, is to set some kind of goal which becomes something to fight for, a new mountain which needs to be climbed. And by climbing we regain some strength. Of course it must be in alignment with capabilities. But some mountains are not physical in nature. It still is a revival of the fighting spirit to choose a goal even if it means fighting from a seated position. Not always easy to figure out what might inspire. But we need to stay as active as possible. Physically and mentally and the spirit of courage.
For myself I compose music. So I learned how to produce music. That was a mountain climb. And now getting the productions done.
Or chase women! That would be a mountain to climb! Or a pit to fall into and that you are forced to try to climb back out. Either way it will make you stronger give you something to look forward to!

I figure that life gets harder as we grow older, to get us used to the idea of dying; and dying is part of life.
I enjoy learning how to do things without the strength and endurance I used to have.
I still live off-grid, don't drive a car, and ride a bicycle; but I don't go as far or as fast as I used to.
It's a lot more work carrying bags of chicken feed and dog food, but somehow it's more satisfying when I do.
I used to walk across country all day and travel all over the place. I could hardly sit still. Now walking a few miles takes a lot of energy, but I can sit and watch clouds pass by all day.
I used to only find Jesus in the King James Bible. Now I see, Jesus Christ is all, and in all.
I used to exercise and enjoy feeling stronger, but I didn't learn how to breathe.
Now I excercise every now and then in an effort to keep the strength I have, and my goal everyday is a perfect breath.
I'm a senior citizen with a messed up back, a broken shoulder joint, a ripped hamstring, had a few strokes, and I need a cane to get up when I sit on the ground.
But I still love sitting on the ground, and I'm still enjoying the ride.

I accidentally watch the films played by Richard Widmark and discover that he is really one of the greatest actors. He can play the best as a bad guy and a good guy in the movies. Though he is no longer living in the world, all his movies can make many people remember him. I was not born in his age, but via RUclips, I can know who Widmakr is. This film is one of his masterpieces. I want to watch his another great movies "My Pal Gus", but I can't find its full length movie from RUclips. Can anybody upload it, please?
I think the old films are better than the modern films because modern films emphasize too much on violence, lacking other elements such as human love and care.

I adore each of these guys, particularly Willie. They were Classics, net they had a blast making this movie. 1988, that just Wows me!
I rarely desire to watch a movie more than once, but this one makes that "short list".
    __________________________
Not sure why but I'm gonna share this cause its on my mind:
I'm out of the current know since 2012, I just can't abide the Mainstream News Media, so I'm 8 years and no Cable TV 24 hr News. (Journalism was one if my majors, so I go to the Journalistt Sources and use my Google feed).
But I am not aware of a "group of Actors/Entertainers" at present that would make a subject (Western or any Genre') and have the flavor these guys did/do.
See, these guys had a variety of traits: real, sassy, experienced, been on the low-end of cash flow, were well educated/learned, and not 1 of them had any confusion regarding: what a mature minded, responsible, empathetic, self disciplined, gentleman, that met the criteria of "presidential" , looks like, speaks like, behaves like, and never would/will any of them not recognize "an era and Peoples that has 'Opportunities for Improvement', and it all has to do with our need to Apply Conscious Higher Mind Thoughts rather than acting and reacting from our Ego Mind.
It is an important value and without it, the public is so easily Manipulated for the Media Owners agenda and Profits.
    Best Wellbeing to all ...
