- A security guard has been sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison for planning “unspeakable violence” against Holly Willoughby.
Gavin Plumb, from Harlow, Essex, was found guilty of hatching a plot to kidnap, murder and rape the former This Morning host following a week-long trial.

Obviously justice was served but am I wrong thinking that if he plotted to kill / kidnap someone who wasn’t a notable figure the punishment would still be the same?

I don't get it 15 years is not life.

15 years MINIMUM, he might not be released if he doesnt satisfy parole, or behaves poorly in prison, and in any way, if he is released he'll be on licence terms for the rest of his life where if he so much as recieves a fine for dropping litter he'll be back in prison.

First I heard he was a security guard. Didn’t he plea to two previous crimes? Here in the USA security guards have to be licensed in general. How was he still able to be a security guard?
British police generally don't carry sidearms. Why would a security guard? We're not in the US. We don't have a gun problem. Funny that!
In the UK we don't allow Security Guards to carry firearms. In fact 99.999% of British citizens do not have guns (legitimately).
@@jonmassey5619 Even security guards without firearms in the USA have to be licensed at least the states I’m aware of. Armed guards just have a little more (IMO not enough) training . Of course one can be hired as “security” unlicensed but that opens people up to all sorts of liability.
