- The summer past I had some of the best prospecting adventures I've had to date and this was no exception. While testing new sections of a gold bearing river I discover one of the richest deposits of gold I've ever found. After a full day underwater I snipe over an ounce of gold in a single day.

Sorry for the lack of content lately guys, recently I lost a good friend and its been hard losing him, but it also hit close to home and was an eye opener to the reality of what I do as a sniper. I have been struggling the past couple of months to battle some of the demons I’m facing and winter on top of that has left me feeling pretty depressed. I hope I can continue on for you guys but it will take me sometime I hope you enjoy this trip from last summer.

I love your videos. You are always making great comments on what you are doing. You are the best prospector - and i have watched a great many. I am sorry for your traumatic loss. It doesn't surprise me since you have such a kind heart that it hit you hard. Continue on.... what choice do we have? I lost my 21 yr old son 34 years ago. People would ask me how I could go on! What choice ?.... none. So I called it left foot right foot. So continue on. One thing I would recommend you try is taking the metal detector to the ground surrounding an old gold mine! You absolute legend bro! What a record to set and an amazing location to be doing so! You can just tell by looking at that bedrock it’s gonna trap the gold like no tomorrow! Keep up the amazing work, and you never know that 3000gram cleanup could be round the corner!
Thanks mate yes that bedrock is the stuff dreams are made of I still need to take some samples as there’s a lot of sulphides etc mixed in there it’s quite possible it’s coming from that bedrock somewhere close by 👍🏼
I guess we now know why Tasmania bans dredging- you can imagine what just a 2” back pack dredge could produce ..

Well I'm obviously siting on my couch🚽 so here's my peanut gallery suggestion....with the gold being smaller and OVERLY plentiful lol how would a small 1ft long yabby pump with a dropper/collection bottle that screws on work... it took 4 grams of time to collect the individual pieces....what a problem...poor you🤝👏🍻!
My best day of gold hunting (raw gold, that is) - one solitary flake, but gee, she was a pretty one. This is excluding some ripper childhood memories at Sov Hill though 😂

Hi Levi, Just watching a video of yours posted couple of years back where you were having trouble getting your snuffer bottle into a crevice and couldn`t recover the gold. I did post a reply but you probably won`t see it so`ll repeat the suggestion here for you....Why not carry about 250mm (or longer) of clear PVC tube that will fit on your snuffer bottle in cases where the crevice is to narrow to fit the snuffer down. Even if the piece of gold wont go up the pipe, with a good squeeze the suction should hold it long enough to recover.

Hi Levi, it's taken me a few years panning and then 3 years detecting to find 29.5 grams in the 71 Springs I have been around. The biggest nugget is 7.6 grams after I look all of the quartz crystals out. This piece is reef gold with flat geometrical hollows inside its surfaces. A collectors nugget. Cheers from Victoria.

Hi Levi, my partner of 32 years killed herself, so know how you feel losing a friend.we had a mining license being processed during this time. This was 2 years ago, now the license has been granted and I am having it mined. 10 ounces is the best for a day. Mining gets me out of bed ,and keeps me going. It took me a long time to get over it, but I am sure you can as well. I always look forward to seeing some new gold on the tables, as you do in your crevices. Take care. Rob

My brother and I normally go panning, but now that the weather is better here in Wales we thought we would snipe one of the very few bedrock spots on our river. When I turned my phone on this morning and got the notification of 'over an ounce in a day', I took it as an omen.
We didn't do anywhere near as well as that, but as usual, your inspiration was with us.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend Levi, its always a confronting time for anyone with a big heart, makes you think about everything including your own mortality. What ever decision you make it will be the right one for you and your family. If you look back at all your adventures though, would you really want to do anything else, just keep assessing the risks and counteract with more safety practices. Your videos are EPIC and not just the gold you find but the beauty of all the nature surrounding you. You got this mate 👍
