  • One day I was listening to Bonnie Raitt's The Ones We Couldn't Be while walking to class and I was suddenly hit by images of Josh and Donna in seasons 6 and 7. So, like the fangirl that I am I decided I'd make a fanvid with this song. Enjoy ^_~
Special thanks tho Ariel, Jules, and Alejandra for their help!

This is amazing, taking the highlights of one of the best subplots from the whole of WW and setting it to the perfect song. I have a WW watchlist, and this is going there, so I’ll be watching it again and again I’m sure.

I wish there had been a season 8...just to see the relationship move forward.
Whitford did Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip...and she didn't rate a guest shot...?

Josh was adorable. I would fall in love with him if I was his assistant too.

She left because he wouldn't promote her. He wanted her to stay, but she want to be known as someone who was more than Josh's assistant

In order to have the relationship you want them to have, he cannot be her boss. So, to move their story forward, she had to leave.

That's done on purpose, the message is in the song - most of us already know what they're saying.

Agree! Same with all these compilations. We don’t need the music rammed down our throats (ears?)

@@kellylaflash1016. I must admit that is so embarrassingly true. If there’s a scene that I can’t put together & quote, I question myself as to why not . 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️🤣🤷🏽‍♀️🤣🤷🏽‍♀️

    Sorkin/s idea of a relationship;
Patronising, sexist, bordering on abusive and yet she will eat his sandwich on a daily basis.

Josh and Donna don’t have the same chemistry as Josh and Amy

Well, they have something deeper and definitely more meaningful, something that constitutes strong and good relationships.

blue whiteandgreen and if it were real life that would be great, just doesn’t make for great television .

@@msnannybean Well, I respectfully do not agree. Just like Lost in Traslation is a masterpiece and say Basic Instinct is definitely not. In the first one there is just a human interacion, multilayered and fascinating, psychologically believable, deep, and so on. Basic Instinct on the other hand relies on typical, traditional, preme2 Hollywood view of women, their sexiness and so on. It's smoking hot and with lots of chemistry, lust and stuff. But it doesn't make a great film, hell, it doesn't even make a good film. At at times it is just boring. There are tons of films like that, unfortunately. When smoking hot is based on literally nothing deep it is just not satisfying for viewers who demand more than just simple entertainment. Thankfully TWW is really far from being just entertainment, even tough Sorkins idea of what is interesting in relationships between man and a woman were at times really disturbing - shouting matches, throwing your posessions into boiling pots hitting someone, really? I mean really? What is great about TWW, among other things, is relationships between characters, at list a big part of those relationships, deep, caring, loving, brotherly, fatherly relationships between characters. Also some of those romantic ones. But Josh and Amy are not one of them, but rather in the club of unhealthy, immature and at times violent ones. Immaturity, competetiveness, selfishness just don't make great tv, unless they dictate the tone of the whole series, like, say, Breaking Bad. But in the world of TWW, they just stand out in a very bad way, casting some light on how deeply flawed the characters are. And that's ok, they are flawed and that's what makes them human and relatable. I mean Josh, 'cause Amy is a really irritating character, cut out from some Sorkin's fantasy about feminists, I guess. And I'm saying it as a person who shares the ideals, but definitely not the style.Their story serves to show what a bad relationship is. And the fact the characters have a chance to change and evolve, but not with each other, is what makes a really good tv.
BTW Josh has more subtle and much more interesting chemistry, based on real affection with Donna, which in the world of tv is a real treasure, because when it simmers and simmers for as long as it does here, it keeps viewers on their toes and adds to the great success of the show.
All in all, smoking hot chemistry doesn't constitute good tv, when it has no real, meaningful base. At some point it just explodes and then there is nothing left. Only emptiness.

blue whiteandgreen you’re comparing apples to oranges with those 2 films. But in any event, to each his own. I prefer the acting of Mary Louise Parker in TWW. Janel Maloney’s performance wasn’t bad, I just personally preferred MLP. Again, to each his or her own. A testament to this show that we are still discussing it these many ears later.

True. Josh and Donna's is much better. Amy was just weird and a total mismatch. She brought out the worst in him.
