Dyan, This is Dan from Alabama. Great teaser video. You showed me a 4 cut version of carving an eye at Rolling Waters years ago. I want now to order this eye video. I have since moved to NC and have become interested in carving full size Bears also. I hope you are well.
hey Dylan this is the best video i have ever seen, about how to carve eyes , I have seen others but this is just great!!!!! I worder if you can some of them on how to carve mouth and nose it would be great bro
Yes, you can purchase my eye carving study sticks from my website, www.oldoakenterprises.com. I do not have anything (video or study stick), on the nose and mouth, but that is a subject that I'm planning to cover in the future.
I think you missed showing a few steps. For example, in doing step 2, did you make a stop cut along the bottom of the curvature of the eye before you used the gouge under the eye? It certainly looks like it, although you did not show cutting it. Then you jumped from step 2 to step 6. What are we missing between these steps that you did not show? Also in step 9 it appears that you made a stop cut along the upper eyelid, but you skipped this as well.
Yes, I did not show all the steps as this video is only meant as a sample of the full-length video which I have for sale on my website. Each of the steps is covered in depth in the full length video. oldoakenterprises.com/product/dvd-carving-eyes-dylan-goodson/
Any chance on just the pdf file? I can it keep next to me while carving, video is not so usefull. Those are really good eyes! Different way of doing them for me.
The PDF is the same set of instructions (3 pages) that I provide with my Eye Study Stick. I'm not currently selling the PDF on it's own. So if you think the video wouldn't be the most helpful way for you to get the information, then I would recommend the Study Stick.
Olá! Ganho mais um escrito ! Parabéns pelo belíssimo trabalho . Onde consigo esse tipo de Madeira? ? Desde de já agradeço pela atenção e maus uma vez parabéns pelo trabalho!
Not knowing where you are located I can't really given you any pointers on where to get wood. I use basswood, (known as limewood in Europe), which can be ordered off the internet but shipping is costly.
Great video, the curse of the eye! Always the most challenging bit! Thanks for posting 👍
Thanks, and you're welcome.

Ernesto, yes I'm planning to do more videos in the future and the noise and mouth are subjects that I'm planning on covering.

Nice! what type of wood?
I was using basswood, which is my wood of choice for almost all carvings due to it's carvability.
good job just really good
👍🏴
Jumps around a bit
This is just a sample of my DVD on carving eyes. The DVD shows the entire process in much greater detail.
