HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 июл 2024
- The grip on a film set is responsible for the technical execution of camera moves using various rigs and pieces of gear which have become standardised across the film industry. In this video I’ll look at a few of the most popular grip rigs - the fluid head tripod, the dolly, the technocrane and the hostess tray.

it's so cool to see a fellow south African making it big on the platform, especially with film related content. Well done
Omw. The accent. How did i miss it. Ek is dom
Man you are truly a blessing in Disguise for new filmmakers
Your videos made me invest in Filmmaking courses and buy my first cinema camera
Keep up the amazing content 👏🏻👏🏻💯💯
Part 2 sounds great! Jibs, regular cranes, steadi-cams etc.
I built a DIY hostess tray when I was in college. It worked pretty well and a couple years later I broke it out for a low-budget camercial I was doing for a local car dealership.
Part 2: please tell how do they film a vehicle or someone running through a forest so fast
I love the fact you snuck moffie into the thumbnail. My uncle was the cinematographer and to see it appreciated makes me so happy
Too cool to see you grow on the platform!
And congrats on the new Merch.
Very detailed & informative content I always come back to, thanks a ton again IDC.
The merch looks great! Love the new logo too! And no wonder most film shoots take forever, equipment like this looks sooo cumbersome. Btw you should update the discord server with the new logo, it cold use some new mods too, it’s been getting some spam bots lately 😅
Yes Part 2 would be apreciated
Fantastic, very good to learn, thanks
wow congratulates for the site, wishing you all the best 🙏🏻
I’m really curious as a former dolly grip, when did wearing a suit become the chosen apparel for the dolly grip 😳😳😳😂😂😂❤️❤️
Nice work bro, I was the dolly grip on the avatar sequels,Amazon lotr etc,it’s really nice to see this information out and about for the young dudes to learn from.
Outstanding 🤟🤟🤟❤️❤️❤️
i absolutely adore the way you edit your videos!
These videos are so informative and the lucidity with which you explain is amazing!! Can you please make a video on how they shoot underwater sequences in major Hollywood films inside a tank
Brilliant topic! Thanks so much for putting this out!
Please make a Part 2!! Video is too good.
keep killing it always amazing!
Excellent information 👐
Looking forward to part 2!

We want part 2!!! 🤠
waiting for part 2 :)
love this
Pt 2!
Part 2 please
Keep up the good work please! Berlin here
Could you make a vid about compartment/container shots, where they film from inside like a refrigerator or cabinet? I can't imagine they just throw a GoPro in there. Some BTS examples would be cool if you could find any. Cheers!
Sir part 2 please
Part 2!!!
Great
Great video for student filmmaker.
I like your old logo more. This one is too cute.
3:43 ... much easier to use bowl adjustments (75mm and 100mm) than fiddling around with tripod legs to get your horizon set, no? Unless there's something pivotal that I'm missing.
Great as always! Would love to use a TechnoCrane someday but they're very complicated and expensive
Yeah, its a tool only for large budget productions. I always enjoy seeing technocranes in action on set, especially if there are some cool camera moves/choreography involved.
I've had a techno crane and a moviebird out for a couple commercial shoots. They aren't as expensive as they used to be. The shoots they were on weren't particularly high budget ordeals.
The best telescoping cranes are from Spain, the company is Scorpio, they make techno cranes look like dinosaurs.I used all 3.Moviebirds are getting better.
Best Dollie’s are chapman’s.No contest.
Woo!
I love your new profile
I love the videos but I hope you could show the titles of the movies from which you take the clips
cool
part 2
I can't afford such equipment, certainly not going to save up and try get one!
Im a simple man, I see technocrane -> neuron activation
Anyone knows what are the movies in this video?
One of the B&W it's "Ida"
RIP Mic @ 7:00
What movie at 1:40?
Of course the black guy is the grip/graffer
Love your videos but please never use this bright blue backdrop for every scene, the blue light exposure makes it hard to look at for long periods of time
Is your accent South African
let's not forget the arrihead is £50k😑
I bet you Angus Davies is responsible for one of the dislikes 😂...this is a joke btw 😒
bro.... merch designs are cool but.... isn't it a bit hipster? It is for me at least
I’m sorry, but your new illustrations, while not incompetent, are completely wrong for your channel. It’s a dated style of character design, with a cluttered image and splotchy colors. You’ve gone back in time to 2005, and that is not a good thing. I’m sorry you’ve sunk so much cash into this merch, but it’s a mistake. I would never wear it on a t-shirt. I would, however, buy a shirt with your signature graphics on a soft solid color.
Part 2 please!
