Hi! I sent you Failed States. It’s me-the author. I stumbled across your channel and it’s the only book review channel I watch. You’ve inspired me to pick up the pen (ok, keyboard) to work on my next book. Thanks for the shout out :)

That's awesome! Thank you for the book. I hope the writing goes well.

I recently found your channel. To be honest the books you read are not what I would pick up, but saying that I have seen some books I would try. So watching channels out of your comfort zone introduces you to new books you would never consider. Thank you for your videos and happy new year.

Really enjoy your style and tastes in literature, my wife (today) mentioned that I have gone WAY over on my book budget since I started watching your channel 🤠I wanted to mention that Cold Front written by Barry Hamond is now finally available again through fathompress, for me that is a five-star read. Currently reading 1Q84 and loving every second of it... Thanks.

Thank you for your book reviews. I mostly read the classics of science fiction and mysteries ( Jules Verne, Ray Bradbury, Agatha Christie, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).

Eighth Sacrament is an amazing read!! It is in the Supernatural Thriller Genre, but it also has so much more to it. It is about family and sacrifice, has tons of character growth, and it has so many great twists and turns, you’ll want to read it again just to catch the details you missed!! 100% recommend for a 2025 read

I appreciate you John! I have an Amazon list by the name of your channel, and it's filled with your great liked/loved titles. It's currently my TBR nowadays! I am a philosophy/religion student (yeah I know, I am so not going for the money with this focus 😆 I might pick up data analysis at some point), so I don't have much time to scroll for great books. Your reviews are the next best thing!!!! Thank you so very much for daring to read outside the scope and to share your findings with us! A very amazing 2025 to you and your family!

    Have a happy new year.

I used to read exclusively manga before i found your channel, i jumped on board your first or second berserk vid? I've stuck around ever since and have been completely indoctrinated into your book cult. You got me hooked on all kind of things from PKD, to Dune and so on. I'm currently reading along you on your Malazan marathon and holy shit i'm loving it. Not to sound too sappy, but by pure coincidence (maybe?) you've legit changed my life, or at least a part of it.

Yes you have been here since the beginning! Not everyone has a name as memorable as plastic plate, lol. But seriously, thank you for the support, and I'm so glad I could play a part in your reading journey. Also Malazan is awesome!

Philip K. Dick has an award on his name. For a good reason. Not just Do Androids Dream With Electric Sheep? is fantastic. Some authors said, very ironic they thought Asimov is whose ideas could become reality one day and yet we live in a PKD world.

Happy New Year, once again congratulations on your RUclips success. Happy to join you early this year on your journey/history of RUclips. I’m always excited when I seen you have upload a new videos. Glad you are doing a lot better after your accident, I was generally concern when I saw the thumbnail of the video you talk about your accident; when you post it.
By the way, watching your videos about books influenced me to read a lot more this year.(about 25) never thought reading would become one of main hobby.
Expect, to see some mail from me sometime next year.

I mentioned this in a previous comment, but I found your channel a few months ago as I was prepping to read some horror/SK books. I'm glad that I tuned in because it has led me to be a frequent viewer of your videos. I've enjoyed the reviews, discussions, and livestreams. You've introduced many classics as well as other books I wouldn't even considered before. Glad to see and hear the growth in the channel. It's much deserved. Thank you for all you do and cheers to the community.

I was just implying that he really was a working writer. Meaning he was not famous (at least not till much much later) and didn't make much money and had to write simply to pay the bills with very little (if any) extra. That being said I see your point lol

Have to mention (read everything Asimov) I’m not sure The Foundation is the best or even a good point to start his books. Officially his books are not in a series but chronologically? You can make an order from 1950~ to the end of the Foundation books in between the Empire books. And there are some nice stuff we could read that lead us to the Foundation. Including the robots and why.
