@@wolfgang.walden.cad.training And is there a way I could add a straight line that is tangent to one of the coils so I could loft the snail shape like on a real turbo cover casting? If I break the connection to the projected spiral curve it gets a ton of points and is almost impossible to edit. Here is my reference : grabcad.com/library/1jz-gte-engine-components-1. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@@wolfgang.walden.cad.training Hi Wolfgang, I tried to illustrate what I'd like to do here : imgur.com/a/Dj6UjSf Hope it makes sense, I just don't know how I could extend the coil like I drew there so that when I loft I get a smooth transition.
Ok, I´ve got it. You would need some sort of 3d "connect curve", which is at least tangent continous and connects the helix with your line. Therefore shorten the helix and shorten the line, connect them with a curve/spline and add tangency.
Se podría hacer en FreeCAD
Thanks, was very helpful!
Great :)
Schönes Video. Viele hilfreiche Tipps
Prima, freut mich!
Hi there, what if I want the coil/spiral to be offset and not just straight? I can't really find anything on how to go about doing it.
You shouldn´t use the "spiral" option but one of the others. Then you would get a pitch option.

Sorry, I don´t get it. What do you want to do exactly?
