Yes but her time was BtG - Bridge to Gantry (19.1km) i belive his was the Complet Nordschleife (20.832km) so the 2 times are hard to compare with each other. But i belive too that Sabine could have found a few more seconds with that Van he is driving becaues she basicly had known every little Rock on that Track

Lucky enough I had a bit of sight when you did this program so I was lucky enough to see it but not all of it unfortunately it was slightly blowy on the screen but the sounds was amazing. Hope you go racing soon as if you go to Browns it I will definitely be there love the smell and the sounds of vehicles racing around

I know vans are not good because of aerodynamics, but aside from that I love vans! Which is probably why Tesla is so hesitant to build a van but they have a truck and a pick up truck which are both more aerodynamic but it’s doable

I don't mind Guy Martin, but lets put this in context. He did 9.28 in a 700bhp+ mid engined transit with bespoke suspension, massive brakes and racing tyres. Sabine Schmidt did 10.08 with a 135bhp transit which, other than removing all excess weight they could at the time, was standard, including brakes, suspension and tyres. Which IMO, was considerably a considerably more impressive achievement.
Not saying anything against Sabine she was the best. Her Van time was BtG - Bridge to Gantry (19.1km) And from the looks of it Guy did the Complet Nordschleife (20.832km) So you cant compare the times 1 to 1
Stock but stripped out a bit, they had to deal with traffic but also had a Viper ACR to draft behind for their fastest lap. Still it does highlight just how fast she got that van to go.

@@manfredschmalbach9023 Without a doubt, track knowledge is key anywhere but doubly so at the Ring. It's a shame the engine fire didn't hold off cutting the engine until after the finish line on that second lap, wouldn't have been surprised if Guy knocked another 10-15 seconds off his time.

The original fastest van lap was done by Sabine Schmidt in a STANDARD transit. Put her in that van and she will probably do a sub 9 minute

It's not weird the record was broken. A racevan compared to a standard van. But I think there is a build that can beat that record
