Balkan people in their countries: you suck, we're better. You own us for this and that you did in the past centuries. Balkan people in foreign countries: Omg you're from Balkan too? Hello sister/brother * best friends *
this is just because of propaganda in our countries, politicians are using hate to stay on power. no such thing in foreign countries, at least not about balkan
@@OYPA13SRB Nah... Its because of our history... I mean... For example North Macedonia was once a Greek territory... Then it was Bulgarian... Then Yugoslavian(I think.. I'm not the best at history) and now it's a completely different country but both Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia think Macedonia should be part of their territory
You will never be hungry, alone (or sober) on the BALKANS. Balkan people are Ok, only bad stuff are the politicians, they make a lot of problems. NA ZDRAVJE!!
As a french who have lived some time in Bulgaria, then Romania (and now going back to Bulgaria soon for half a year), and who has talked and met with lot of Balkans people, I can say without any hesitation that they are the best people to hang out with! They are extremely chill and kind, and they sure have a great sense of partying and having fun, it's always great vibe with them. As someone said in the video, they tend to be very humble even though lot of them are very hardworking, and could deserve more praise. And even though lot of them move abroad, they rarely brag about their home country, I have found that bulgarians rarely even talk about it. However, the moment you show them that you are interested in their country, suddenly they'll teach you so many amazing stuff. You can see how a Balkan person is really appreciative of someone being interested in their country! Overall, Balkans people really deserve more love and more recognition. Another thing is that they have a great sense of humor, they are absolute masters of sarcasm, and they sure know how to make and take a joke! Really great vibes! And it might not seem so at first, because on the outside, at first contact, it's true they tend to look a bit cold and distant, but the moment you show a minimum of kindness and respect, and they suddenly turn into the warmest and most open people you'll ever find! Although, the first impression part can vary depending on countries, for example I have found that Romanians usually look warm and open even from the outside, while Bulgarians give more reserved vibes at first impression. But really, friendship with Balkans people is very valuable and you'll never regret. I confirm what has been said about Balkans girls. While they are stunningly beautiful, they're not the kind of people you mess with. They know how to get shit done, and they'll destroy your sorry ass if you ever dare being cheap to them or taking them for a fool. However, they are sweet as sugar if you know the meaning of the word "respect". Ah, important thing, it's better not to get into political or geopolitical topics with a Balkans person until you know how they react to it. While most young generations are chill about it, some are still very sensitive, and with the clumsyness of a foreigner who knows nothing, you'll be just walking into landmined ground. And of course last thing: food and drinks. They're the best, that's all there is to it. Personnally, I think that Bulgaria has the best food, Serbia has the best Rakija, and Bosnia has the best Cevapi/Kebapche/Kebap, but I need to experience more of Greek food and Albanian food. Love on you, dear Balkans friends and all non-Balkans who are interested in them!

I'm half Italian half Filipino and I've worked with many Romanians, Moldovans and Albanians and I gotta say, they're such humble, happy and honest people. Their women are to be honest really strong and I low key fear them but they can be comprehensive and really friendly when they know you're trustworthy (and I had to earn their trust). They're (the Balkan people) also such hard workers, I love them and I respect them. I will also never understand why people here in Italy keep on misjudging them, like, it's 2021, move on guys!

Hey, so kind of you! Of course Russia is close in mentality, soul, traditions. Only not in distance :) here comes though the slight difference between Balkan culture and mentality and Slavic culture and mentality! People should not mix the two things. I feel russian people so close really, I have a russian friend , and I see a lot of russians in my city (Varna, Bulgaria), but there is olso something different from us. I think russians don't express emotions and feelings so much or so loud . Don't know. Stay safe ☘️🤗
@@magdalenahristova6698 благодаря! I agree actually:) however let me say just little remark please: as for the Russians they are so different from region to region. I don't feel too much emotional connection to moscovites or petersbourgians or any other people in a west and north. But I feel southern Russians very close. I think people in South and Far East of Russia both have pretty high temperament, openness and they often prefer short distance communication even with unknown persons - exactly same as I've seen in Slavic part of Balcans:) so being native Vladivostokian I feel much more connection to the Balkan people than to Nordic type of Russian people. But in general inspite of temperamental difference manly we have similar way to think and to react. I don't insist of course, but just share my subjective experience:)
Well some Balkanoid got drunk tried to return home and ended up is west Africa. Nothing weird about that.. Seriously now, 8% is not little. Just 3 generations back someone in your family was from Balkan. How come you don't know about this?

@@bliss7166 well yes but what I meant is that although Italy is not a Balkan country, you can find here most of the common features of Balkan countries - food, family, loud gatherings, etc - not just near the Slovenian border or in the area historically and culturally connected with the Balkans but all over Italy, and that's what's so special and I wanted to point out
I am Bulgarian and I studied in the UK. I was a guest at another Bulgarian from my Uni. On his floor there were one Italian Man, One Greek woman and the rest around 8 people were Chinese. The kitchen was full of Chinese spices, rice cookers and chicken feet (no problem it was just a different culture) Me and my friend made a moussaka from scratch and just as we were about to eat it the Italian guy had some puppy eyes and we invited him to join us. And in typical Balkan and South European fashion we sat at the table for several hours. Even though Bulgaria and Italy have distinctive cultures we have a LOT of similarities in what we value in life. The Italian guy was not just missing home cooked European food. He was missing the whole ritual from preparation, to eating to enjoying the company. 🙂
@@bliss7166 The Balkans were not in the Venetian Republic. There are similarities of course ... As like there are similarities between Poland And Germany.
I spent a total of 8 days in Croatia yet when the “rakija” stereotype came up I already knew they’d all agree on it 😂 … the Balkan countries are by far the most fun, beautiful and inviting countries in Europe I have been too… loud, authentic and proud! Much love from 🇨🇦
It is funny, 'cos even though we fight each other so bad over internet( I'm Albanian), in London instinctively I stick to Balkan people, rather than Western European ones. I have a Serbian friend from Montenegro, been very close to a Greek woman at school where I work, very good relationship with Romanians and Bulgarians. No wonder, we have so much in common. My German friend gets all silent when me and the Montenegrin friend start remembering funny superstitions of our grandmother's. Such similar mentality, it's scary! By the way, we are not cold people at all, but we study you before we decide to smile at you. Once we do it, it means the smile and friendship you are getting, it will last forever. We REALLY, REALLY MEAN IT! We are not fake, we say what we think, totally blunt , but we don't get offended. I prefer that, than sneaky smiles that later screw you up. Love my culture and I don't let anybody to put it down. It is way superior than the Western European style in many ways!
As a western European, I do the same however I know my country isn't like that and tbh I hate it. I really love the Balkan people. They're good for you
why do you guys have such strong nationalism though? it’s rather annoying especially if you live in a western country. I have nothing against showing of your culture a little bit but when your whole personality is where you come from? don’t you have something else to be proud of? Thats just something I noticed...that many balkan people are that way. If you live in a western country and have so much more and better opportunities there, be grateful and also honor that country more! Otherwise it’s just disrespectful and if where you come from is so great than why do so many balkan people move to western countries like germany? you clearly live a better life here than you would do in the balkan countries
So, let's see some stereotypes: 1. 100% true. Every single time Balkan families gather, it becomes soooo loud. Also, food. You can't have a social gathering or just a party if there isn't food. Why? Because Balkan food is amazing! 2.Rakija is awesome. Of course, you must have some kind of salad to accompany it. It's like zakuski and vodka - they go together. 3. It is kinda true. There is a lot of bad blood between Balkan countries. You can't just erase that. We are striving to have a good relationship with each other, but sometimes things can get out of hand. Personally, I am never going to hate someone, who is from, for example, Serbia, just because he is a Serb. 4. Um....no. We are not rude. We are just very straight with people. Painfully straight, sometimes. 5. Sadly, this is kinda true. If you are not wearing some kind of brand, you lose your status or something like that. Personally, I never cared about brands as long as I feel comfortable in those clothes. 6. Balkan women are fearsome. They are not like the western women. Balkan women are strong, passionate and can get very scary if you upset them. The one stereotype I'm so tired of hearing is : "Oh, you speak Russian". No, you idiot, I speak Bulgarian! P.S Dimitra is the type of girl I would definitely date. A true slav girl!
there's no such thing as being 'painfully straight' with people, it's only Western countries who like to lie and obscure their true feelings. Greetings from a Russian cousin, historically not always the best of cousins, but best wishes all the same. Edit: And as a Russian, I don't understand why people can't tell the difference with Bulgarian, of all the languages in that region it's one of the least similar to Russian
@@AeneasGemini I think because they hear about Russia more often that's why almost any slavic language sounds for them Russian. Я думаю поэтому они не могут отличить. Да и ты сам вряд ли отличишь Словацкий от Чешского например
1st absolutely true. 2. I don't drink at all but yeah Rakia is universal cure for everything from sickenss, wounds to drinking and cleaning haha 3. I have a lot of friends and I know people from other Balkan countries (except Bulgaria) and thing is we don't like nationalists be it from this or that side, I live in Sanjak in Serbia and unfortunently 85% of population of Serbia is nationalistic while we do have some here In Sanjak but it's so little it barely even counts, whilst this 15% they are fun people that you can chill, relax and generally good people these 15% I have got a lot of good friends I still talk to. So that is the case. 4.Well I would say its more direct then rude. I personally don't do much of beating around bush . 5. Yes it's true but it's personal choice. I personally think Adidas and Nike have the best quality when it comes to quality of shoes. Puma is good also but it's dependant on model. For cars really the best cars in everything like performance and such German cars are unbeatable. 6. Yea they can be but most important is balance. If you give power without balance then it becomes bad. Stereotype : One good is when I am speaking people tell me are you from Montenegro, or Bosnia and some even say Macedonia which is odd cause our speaking doesn't sound similar at all. Bad stereotype: Are you Serb? No. I am Bosniak. What is that? It's same as Bosnians but albeit in different country , but Bosnians are also Bosniaks . So yeah.
It’s true tho 😂😂 in Serbia everyone is talkin about adidas this adidas that... and I’m the type of guy who likes to wear some unknown brands so it’s funny to me
Loooove the Balkans! Especially Greece and Romania, as an italian I consider those folks my cousins basically. Love the food, love the culture, love the people, everytime I meet somebody from the balkans it’s an immediate party!

@@antejl7925 someone had to say it. I am albanian and that albanian guy has no idea how Balkans truly are. He jist heard enough from his parents over tgere in Canada and he thinks he knows everything.
Of course there are similarities between the Balkans but I would say Greeks and Albanians are somewhat different, because all the others are of Slavic origin except of them. The Slavic mentality is present throughout Balkans except Greece and Albania. Greeks and Albanians have their own culture, traditions, mentality which is completely opposite to the Slavic mentality sometimes.
I can slightly agree that they are different, but I have to ask, what is "Slavic mentality?" and which culture, traditions and mentality are opposite and how so?
@@Aleks_Ovski416 First of all, in linguistics terms, all the Slavic languages are similar to each other while Greek and Albanian are completely different languages. That is because all the Slavic languages derive from the Protoslavic language. Secondly, there are many Slavic festivities not found in Greece or Albania. Third, the way of thinking is different sometimes. Trust me, I've been next to Slavs most of my life and I noticed that we think way differently sometimes. I'll just give you a simple example. I found out that , for some reason, people in Slavic countries tend to marry very young (for example you can see girls 19-20 years old carrying babies). On the other side, this is not usual in Greece at all. People usually marry after 30 there.
@Filonikis I wonder if a relationship between a balkan man (born and raised there of course) is possible with a western european woman? (with all the package :D) I mean independant, thinks she can do eveything like a man even drive a moto, own job, friends, activities, ect. The cultures seem sooo different, what do you think about it? Thanks in advance
@@valouvav2454 That's a very interesting question. I'm curious on what you mean as Balkan man. Do you mean Serb, Croatian or Greek? Because we live in the same Balkan peninsula but, as I said before, there are some differences between them. Greeks are not Slavs like most of the countries in the Balkan area. I can tell you for sure about Greeks, that it is possible for a western European woman to have a relationship with a Greek man. Most of the women in Greece can drive, can have their own jobs, friends or activities without any problem.

Omg absolutely true!!! It's funny how many traditions and folklore we share 😍
As a western European, I do the same however I know my country isn't like that and tbh I hate it. I really love the Balkan people. They're good for you
A di ti shqip.Cause I know english.😂😂😂🇦🇱🇦🇱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
"It is way superior..." = snob
why do you guys have such strong nationalism though? it’s rather annoying especially if you live in a western country.
So, let's see some stereotypes:

2. I don't drink at all but yeah Rakia is universal cure for everything from sickenss, wounds to drinking and cleaning haha
So yeah.
I also hate when people assume i'm Russian especially because my name is in cyrillic ... btw, I am Bosnian/Serbian

Yugo = South .Yugoslavia = Southslavia. We are surrounded by the Dinaric Alps or Dinarides. We are not the Balkans - we are Dinarics.

Peninsula is a geographical term, which means the continental surface, which is surrounded on three sides by water.
The so-called Balkan Peninsula cannot start from the Croatian-Slovenian border, but from the Gulf of Trieste, which is part of Italy - so Italians from Trieste are also "Balkanians" and Italian languange is " Balkan languange"

It's nice to hear that you think different but one must hold grudges until justice is served, Serbia has caused a lot of death, suffer and pain all over ex Yugoslavia and until all criminals are brought to justice there will always be hatred, people want to move and leave the past behind but until you have leaders that have the 90s mentality l just don't see how things will get any better and that's sad because this part of Europe It's just beautiful to be in such a mess.

I love this comment. I'm from Kosovo and I was in an intercultural training where I met young people from BH, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia and Albania. We all were so similar and loved the time that we spent with each other. I became friends with the girls from Serbia and we even discussed the "Kosovo matter". During the debate we all tried to be understanding about both sides of the story and in the end we hugged and had an amazing time together in the next days. It made me realize how sad is it that we allow politics to make us forget about our human side. We have so much potential to connect, love and value each other. We're more than politics, we're more than that. I'm sure better times are coming. Maybe I won't even be alive until then because the wound is still hot, but I'll be smiling and tearing from heaven when I see Kosovan & Serbian people being able to value and love each other.
