You guys really inspired me to pick up mountain biking in 2020, I kinda fell out of it, and all it took was one of your videos for me to pick it back up this year and start riding again. Such an awesome channel and you both are wonderful people, such contagious energy! Thank you for all of your content, and keep riding and making these awesome videos!
*Thank you for sharing that.* Gotta say, we're touched. ❤ Sometimes I feel like quitting making videos, but comments like this inspire me to continue sharing our adventures. 😊
You guys have great energy. Your wife is a badass. I cant get my gf to even get on a bike. You sound like the singer Orville Peck. Look em up. Subscribed.
Great video! Looks like you mount your camera to your helmet, is it a chin mount or under your visor? I love being able to see the bars but also the path of the front tire. That’s the best POV angle in my opinion !
Yes, chin mount. I prefer this angle the most. Not a fan of chest mount as the bike takes up too much of the screen for me. I also like how the camera looks ahead on turns with the chin mount vs lagging behind with the chest mount.
Great stuff as always! Vermont was supposed to be our big road trip destination last year, but we had some unexpected things happen. Hoping to get out there in the next couple years.
💯% The jumps go on forever. I trimmed so much from the footage in the vid. It's so long. _Blue Magic_ is the dream trail for getting good with jumps. Hoping _Black Magic_ will be less intimidating this time. After our most recent trip to Windrock, I'm feeling good about trying bigger jumps. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the vid. Hoping you get a chance to go sooner. Cheers! ✌️😁
@@dukeofmtb thanks. I hope so! you guys are on your way to being great jumpers. They just take more reps and on different types of jumps to get more comfortable on as I’m sure you know. Funny I kinda worked my way the opposite of you guys after growing up with bmx and dirt jumps. Tech and steep stuff was what I had to make a point to get better on as an adult rider.
I think I mentioned that near the beginning Krusty. Some folks start on jumps and flow, others on tech. You set up your suspension accordingly too. So transitioning to the one or the other later becomes a challenge. You get used to squashing everything when you start on fast and chunky teck trails too. That's a hard habit to break once someone switches to jumping, atleast for us it is. 😅
Yah Killington is fun and long a lot like Snowshoe western territory my next favorite is highland NH and when I want to do a quick session I hit Bryce it's only an hour and a half from my house. But my all time favorite is Whistler.
For me, it was not pulling up the rear. When I do, I end up doing it while still going up the lip and I absorb most of the lip or get bucked forward. Now I try to keep my legs straight, pushing through the lip, until I'm halfway across the jump and only then start preparing for the landing, but 90% is done on take off. If you take off right, you'll have a perfect arch leading to a good landing. Those GMBN videos always focusing on "scooping up the rear" stalled my progress for the longest. The moment I stopped doing that, I instantly started feeling better in jumps. Now if you always go rear heavy, then it's a different story. My issue was always squashing the jumps or going nose heavy due to my early scoop. Also, don't pull the bar. You actually want to push away from it so your arms end up practically straight at the peak of the lip, while also leaning back a bit as you push through the lip with your legs. Kinda like an explosive deadlift. Don't turn it into a barbell row. Of course, I know all this in theory. Executing it is a whole different story.
I used to get really bad wrist and finger pain. Couple things helped ... I was watching football and Randy Moss was talking about how Chris Carter taught him how to do finger exercises. Odell Beckham has mentioned it behind too, and you can find on RUclips. Did them for a few months, and it really made a noticable difference my first time at Mountain Creek this year. Also switched to Ergon GE1 grips with Renthal Fatbar. It still happens, but comes on a lot later in the day than it used to.
GREAT video as usual, you both sure get around the Country considering you live in Michigan, so happy you have the time and skill to visit places like that and get the most from your visit. WOW, i never knew she had 170/170btravel! Thats true Enduro as my former 2019 Instinct BC was 160/155 I got my 2021 Niner RDO hardtail together and my 1226 gram XC wheels with the 180 EXP hubs just arrived to replace the 1426 gram trail wheels so 200 grams saved, i just want a LIGHT hardtail to blast around on easy trails with low rolling resistance tires. Since i haven't been riding in close to a year i come home sore after every ride though i manage the inclines some walk at the local lake. Final weight should be about 21 even WITH pedals, each bike has a purpose and a light hardtail is nice to have, if i want a new FS like the Instinct i might grab one of those.
Thanks. And yeah, she's lost most of her interest in pedaling after getting hooked on bike park riding, so we sold her Canyon Spectral and got her a proper park bike. We also got aggressive hardtails for the local trails though. Looks like you got your whole bike situation figured out as well. 👍
@@dukeofmtb Yes at my age [66] i enjoy blasting a 21 pound bike around on the non aggressive trails, so much easier to climb, accelerate and maintain speed. I think i have seen your video on your then new aggressive hardtail. The best thing to do is have 2 bikes, a competent FS and a hardtail depending on where you intend to ride.
Man I thought you and your wife looked familiar haha me and my buddy rode with you at Stoney creek yesterday lemme know next time y’all go riding I’m down to rip
So there was originally 3 bike parks within a 4hr(ish) drive from us in SE Michigan. Blue Mountain in Ontario, Boyne Highlands herr in Michigan(now called "The Highlands"), and Horns Hill in Ohio. Blue was definitely the most refined and had the longest descents. It was a lot like bigger bike parks but on a smaller scale. Horns and Boyne are more "raw". None of them can compete to the likes of Snowshoe or Windrock though. I _can_ say Blue was on par with how Kanuga is now in North Carolina. Some of the trails in Kanuga are better, but Blue made up for it with their super fast, 6 bike chair lift.
I love the music on your video, it sounds like you guys are doing the Temple Run in real life.
I really hope this becomes one of the bigger channels.
That _would_ be nice. 😊
Nice work buddy 👍👏
Infectious enthusiasm! Love it! Keep it up!
Sick!
Actually sick!
Thanks, dude! 🤘😁
Great video! Glad I found your channel again! Thought I was already a sub - made sure to fix that just now! 🤘
Sweet! Thanks!
A lot of respect to you guys for sending that drop. Amazing video. Keep it up.
Nice Vid!!
What a great ride! Thanks for taking us along! Another great vid from The Duke and Love!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Incredible trails!!! One day here and you can boost your jumping skills like hell 😎😎😎
Great edit, thx for the upload!! Heading up tomorrow for a long weekend, can't wait!!
Haven't done Goat Skull yet so this was really helpful.
Glad you enjoyed it. Have fun. 😁👍

+1 to this. Amazing videos -- thanks!

Awesome video, and incredible audio! Love hearing Cory so clearly in your POV. Ali and I really need to come check out Killington.
It works out pretty good whenever I can convince her to wear a mic. 😅 That place is flow central! You're gonna love it!

@@dukeofmtb yea, I definitely want to hit that place. Blue and Black magic look like great trails to work on jumping skills.

You need to hit up Vultures Knob and MOHICAN in ohio not that far away and... considered an EPIC in IMBA.
Added to the list of places to go one day. Thanks for the tip. 👍

Raised my bar slightly and bought some Rev Grips. It's a bit better now.
I basically rode tech trails for a year when i started, and now jumps and flow scare me. Really trying to break out of that mindset.
I feel ya man

Hey guys what is favorite park in the States?
Currently, I would say Killington. Their smooth flow is pretty fun, and it's a great place to progress on jumps.
