i am the learner of indian classical music .....my aim in life is i want to make my field in indian classical music....my guru ji is the student of late ustad hafeez ahmad khan saheb and his name is pandit mahendra bhardwaj.....i and my guruji is the greatest fan of S.D.Batish....i want to be a singer....thank you ragmala......
I came here on recommendation by our Mentor, Prince Ravi Verma who gave high praise about this unsung hero. I bow to this song and to this soul and enjoyed this song.
So glad to see you here. It's my father's birth anniversary today. Namaste. Here is our latest video ruclips.net/video/rtmFgAxinAM/видео.htmlfeature=shared
What an interpretation of the raaga. There is only one known composition in carnatic music by saint Thyagaraja. This songs comes out so differently with the Hindustani touch. Beautiful...
You are welcome. My father truly loved everything about music and was blessed with an incredible gift yet he was also extremely humble and believed staunchly that if we all were exposed to the study of the music and fine arts since birth there would be greater peace and harmony in the world. I would often hear him utter "a human who lacks the love of music and arts is but an animal on two legs."
supremo of our sher e punjab pandit shiv dayal batish saheb ji one of the greatest artist as a mount everest of ancient indian classical music....what a beautiful singing... s.d.batish who sang this raga manavati is wonderful
Truly beautiful music composition, lyric and sweet voice. I love it and keep listening year after year. My respect and gratitude to Late Pandit Shiv Dayal Batish for creating such a master piece for generations to enjoy and get a piece of mind in the midst of their day to day busy life. Long live his creation. Thanks for uploading.
Thank you Devinder. A great loss to our family and the world. My father's works are being released slowly. Thank you for your comments. Please subscribe to our channel when you have a chance.
This is fantastic. There is a strange attraction in this composition and vocals. It was shocking to note that Pandit Shiv Dayal Batish passed away in 2006.
With a sad heart I announce that my father passed away last July. He and I worked on Indian music educational resources for the past 20 years and although we were very involved in local performance venues we lost this great soul before these composed works were made public. I am in search of great artists that will study and perform his works. I am offering recording contracts to anyone interested in learning and performing his music. Ashwin Batish
Yes tintal. Manvati raga is number 5 in the 72 parent modes of the Carnatic music system. It is now becoming increasingly recognized all across India especially by the Hindustani tradition that has focused only on a 10 parent mode based tradition.
Many of us were not aware of the monumental research work of over 2000 Ragas and Janya Ragas ( Raginis) in the Carnatic Music by great shri Batishji. This fact should be made known to the Carnatic Music world . I am giving a link of this in the page devoted to carnatic music in facebook.
The words are written by the singer Pt. S.D. Batish and depict a traditional theme of the celestial couple Radha and Krishna where the wirter is imploring Radha to cast off her pride and go to Krishna. "Leave your designing and forget everything else, Krishna is calling for you. Sacrifice your body, mind and soul on Mohan (Krishna)and your existence will be rewarding and fruitful. Krishna the master of the Universe is very clever and smart, why are you making him crave so for you."
Not at all. It is refreshing and important that we all see the world with all its variations. Your openness creates a warmth that can only bring good vibrations and acceptance of others to your faith and values. I would like to direct you to a Google search for Hinduism.
I believe the original quote of Bhatrihari (in sanskrit) is: sahitya Sangita Kala viheena sakshat pashuhu puchha vishaana heenah. Trnum na khaadannapi jeevamanah, Tadbhagdheyam paramam pashunam. The first sentence is exactly your father's view.
Manga12: With due respect to ragmala, Radha and Krishna are central to hindu traditions and Radha's bhakti (devotion) is the highest for Krishna and it is believed that any person who gets a taste for bhakti or bhajans gets it by the grace of Radha. Truly, Pandit deserves the title Rasika.
Sadly Pandit Shiv Dayal Batish passed away in 2006. His son Pandit Ashwin Batish is presently teaching in California. Contact him directly through RUclips on this channel
Since i had been feeling a stagnation in popmusic for quite a while, whether this is because of limiting commercialization "strategies" of what has become "music industry" or not, anyway: i became really bored, hearing this, i suppose, traditional music from India, is a relief.
I dont know if that was spiritual or not. but that intro is nice and smooth this guy is a really good, and had good voice control though I do not know what he was saying, this is some really relaxing music. so is this hindu, sikh, bangara, or just a song about something?
This is describing the love between Radha and Krishna. It is sung in Hindi. It is the beauty of language that it appears like a humanly relation but usually has profound spiritual meaning. Maan - Pride, taj = leave, Maanvati = prideful Radhe = Radha. Tohe = You, Kanha = krishna, Bulave = calling. Earthly meaning is = On prideful Radha leave your pride aside, Krishna is calling you. Spiritual meaning = Every one has pride, leave that pride aside and get towards Krishna and embark on spiritual journey. Interpretations can vary
I wish it were so, but most catholics are very closed minded, that is they are mainly older the ones I know and they are very set in their ways. So trying to convince them that other religions do share some truths with christians is sometimes hard. depends who it is. some are open mined but are soo loose in their faith it is rair to find one with both attributes of being active in faith they follow and being open minded and learning about others.
i dont know much about indian music. I understand that india has many differant cultures that can differ from even small citys to the next I hear. with what I hear is thousands of differant languages I am most familiar with the punjabi peoples
MZLTMBCJMN: Does Ashwinji also play this divine instrument, because I have always seen him with the Sitar? He used to. Unfortunately, the Vichitra Veena is in need of repair. He will teach it though. You will need to bring your to the lesson.
I hope I did not say anything to offend you, even if my religious beliefs are differant and I am staunch about what I belive. I try to learn more about other cultures from the east though their food and their art. Correct me if I am wrong but arnt there three major deitys in hindu, Vishneu, Kreshna, and Shiva. with the rest being avitars of the three?
I am from germany i like this music since my yong age . i have now 54 years
thank You so much
