Yes it is. I have built several MGB models and painted them with the same paint that was used to paint the actual MGBs in my collection. 1/24 scale. The most expensive purchases are the larger 1/18 scale diecast cars. I think I have every MGB from several manufactures. These larger MGs have gone up in price significantly in the past 2 years.
Fabulous collection you have there, Graham. I have been looking around for a suitable model to represent my 74 MGB roadster in BRG. You are not a true collector of classic cars unless you have a model to go with them.
Thanks for your comment - yes - I think I inherited it from my Dad - he had models of most of his full-size cars. He also had many models which he didn't own the full-size version - Aston DB5, Ferrari 250GTO to name but two :-)
I've had models from both Kyosho and Auto art and find both to be of very high quality. I have the Auto Art Miura from the same range as the MGB model and it's excellent but the price was a little less eye watering back when I picked it up.
I have an oxford diecast n gauge 1:148 MGB Roadster. Photos don't do it any justice as the model is tiny (2.5cm in length). They have the red one in stock.
I think I have about 20 1:43 scale MGBs. All from eBay. There's one or two makes not on this list, and I usually buy them if I see them for sale and it's a make of model, or style of MGB I haven't got. There are a few makes of 1:43 MGB models I don't yet have which are much more expensive: around the 100 quid mark. I had to make myself stop buying more, but am on the lookout for the gold limited edition rubber bumper one to "complete" the collection! I also have five or six 1:18 MGFs from when I had (two) MGFs. The F models are in the loft and on the long list of stuff I should really clear out.
I've got the Autoart and Universal Models MGC GTs and personally I think the Universal models one is the more accurate, the engine looks too small and the grille too flat at the top in the Autoart one, their MGB has the same problem. I also have the Autoart and Kyosho MGB Roadsters, for my money the Kyosho one is the nicest MGB model I have, the detail being very fine with some nice touches like the lift a dots on the tonneau being shown in silver and the wire wheels being particularly finely rendered
well yes but something looks wrong in the rear too. im a slot car fanatic and a all year driver off mgb (in norway in temp from -30 to +30 celcius) @@ClassicMGB
Outstanding video of your MG collection. I'm guilty of have several of these great collectables.
Thanks for your comment - collecting them is a bit addictive isn't it :-)

@@MGB-learning Yes - the 1/18 scale models here are usually a minimum of £100 now for a good one...

I’d love too see the rest of your models even if there not MGBs
Thanks for your comment - I'll bear it in mind for a future episode!
Kyosho made a brilliant mgb in 1:18 th scale. Best detailing of all.
Thanks for your comment - I've seen a few online but wasn't sure of the quality - I'll keep a lookout :-)

nice stuff, lol, I have a bunch of diecast (1/64 to 1/8)(mainly race cars/hot rods), not a single MGB (really would like a LHD '64)
Thanks for your comment - It's a lot cheaper collecting models than the full-size cars :-)

Thanks for your comment - I've seen these online as well. As you say, for the size, they're very detailed.

Thanks for your comment - puts my small collection to shame, but I'm always on the lookout as you are :-)
In the James Bond car you can see a Toyota Corona in the background. I had one of those too, a '69.
Well spotted :-)

Thanks for your comment - I guess the Scalextric version would need to have space for motors etc?
