When are we gonna get some fast running backs why aren’t we getting the one in Crete? The kid runs for 2000 yards this last year average is 9 yards per car.Y and the Omaha kid that averages 7 yards of carry both of them are very fast. They can make it all the way to the end zone. We need to get them in the running back room right away.
The best running backs aren't fast. The best backs have a vision to understand the blocks ahead of them and how to set up blocks. This requires patience. The only time a flat-out speedster is good is if you have a line that can blast open holes, which we need. It's also why you don't see speedsters as RBs in the NFL. You don't need a RB to get you 50 yards. You need them to get or set up a first down.
