Gary's performance is based on that of Al Jerreau who put lyrics to Chick's instrumental original.
Gary improvised (scatted) all the instruments, without missing a beat.

I see you Angie, just let the music flow through your body, I was right there with you!!!!! Gary is the epidemy of allowing the rhythm to flow through ones body. Fun stuff. Can't imagine what it must have been like with him growing up and practicing this style.
Pianist Chick Corea was also leader of Return To Forever, one of the original jazz/rock fusion groups in the early 70's, which was the starting point for guitarist Al DiMeola's career. Gary Valenciano became a mentor to Katrina Velarde when he took her on as a backup singer after judging a singing competition where she was a contestant.

You must hear Soyang a Korean female singer, they compare her with Dimash, but Dimash was a baby when Soyang was already famous ! OMG !!! She could be the mother of Dimash ! LOL !!!
