He is so youthful looking hard to imagine he's a grandfather. His son, Paolo, is a well known events and concert director. He was the director of Watson's Playlist and has worked with SB19 before.

Hard to believe Gary V is pushing 60, isn’t it? He is forever young! He’s been performing on stage since elementary school and yes, knows no other way of doing stuff.
Back when he was just starting in the 80s, he was the “good boy” to another artist who pushed OPM boundaries by making rap mainstream, the “bad boy” the late Francis Magalona.
They had an epic concert in Ultra that turned into a mega-party. It’s still floating around on RUclips and I hope you can watch it!

one of the best performers anyone could ever witness, he is also one of the kindest, most gentle, most genuine souls on the planet. he survived a stroke, a cancer survivor, he battled diabetes all his life. he has been one of the best singer-songwriters this country ever produced. he is a filipino icon and institution… at that time of the video he is approaching 60 years of age, and he’s not slowing down. you will not find many people more remarkable than that man.

Gary V. is a percussionist but he plays a ton of instruments like you said. He is an example of someone whose life IS music. From the time he debuted in the early 1980s until today, he has constantly put out songs. Most of which he writes and arranges himself. All his songs are good. He is called Mr. Pure Energy because whenever he performs it is always passionate and energetic. At his age (59), he can still dance and belt with the best of the new generation artists like SB19 (He did WYAT dance with SB19). He is one of the OGs who fully support SB19 and other up and coming talents (Gary re-arranged his Could You Be Messiah song for Morissette). Gary V is a pillar of Philippine music industry. He is emulated by many not just because of his music but also because of how he lives his life. A truly inspiring role model. He is a great host, dancer and actor as well. I'm glad you found him. My favorite ballad from Gary is Narito and Take Me Out of the Dark.

Gary v's christian music are all great, i always play all his greatest hits in my car.
This is the music of the 80s. He has a Puertorican blood and he likes rhythms like this. He did mostly POP songs, TV and movie theme songs and gospel songs. He is one of the best. His wife is a singer too and I think the daughter got their talents. They had a duet during his birthday not sure if in ASAP too.
He is a product of school glee club. Ogie (Regine's husband composer singer) and Ding-dong Avanzado ( father of Jada with Sb19 Pepsi ad) both from the glee club too younger batch and they look up.to Gary as their Idol.
Ogie Alcasid is also another well-respected legendary singer/songwriter, witty and has a great sense of humour too.

Gary V is a pioneer of Pinoy Pop and during the 80s, he basically was our counterpart to Michael Jackson. He is an amazing dancer and great singer and composer)

Funny how you reacted that you can feel his energy, not knowing that's his monicker in the Phils. "Mr. Pure Energy" Gary V. He is also a singer-songwriter and he sings and dances just like SB19. He's really popular here that when Stell said "who am i to teach choreography to Sir Gary?" you get what he means. It also gave us goosebumps when he said in an interview that if there was a song he wished he composed it would be Gento.

This man is a beast! In the 80s and the early 90s he ruled the Philippine pop scene. His contemporaries were Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Jaya, and Lani Misalucha to name a few. Those names live in the hallowed halls of OPM history as some of the best and the brightest. They all have one thing in common: they treat their voices like instruments. Absolute beast each and every one of them. Incredible live performers - but I think by now, you'll have noticed that the hallmark of OPM artists is incredible live singing. I think that's because of artists like Gary.

ASAP is a show in one of the major telly networks in the Philippines, more of a showcase of great multi-generation talents: collabs, covers, dance, and OPM.
