Did you manage to check if there was a note limit you can queue when performing the echo bubble dance? On a knockdown, Echo Dance into Echo Waves sounds like a very effective combo if you can queue up 3 echo waves really fast. Echo Wave into Offset Melody will be great for small flinches.
@@alexcompositionflat any 3 notes during the Echo Dance, any 5 during the Focus Strike, and then the 2nd hit of the Superpound/Flourish and the Hilt Stab can sneak in any single note. That's all the note stocking shortcuts we have to work with now. The Dance>Recital combo should always be able to be done with either 2 Self Improvements or any 3 notes song (ideally Echo Wave for straight damage output) if you had 0 notes to start with
Same. We do only have the basic MVs though. Stuff like crit, sharpness, and elemental modifiers could be pretty big make or break factors...but really, I'd just say they may as well full send it lol. Make this HH's time!
I feel echo bubbles should be used a bit more conservatively against weaker monsters but against stronger bigger monsters with more health it might be ok to go ahead and spam them
I think it's less about health and more about size. With smaller monsters, the chance that they have to tumble out of them like I showed means that you probably won't want to drop all 3 too close together. Spreading them out or holding back 1 would help your uptime. With bigger monsters, that'd probably be a lot less of an issue
Even if your directional input hadn’t moved you to the perfect spot to hit chatacabra’s head, I’d bet that with focus mode you could have gotten a similar result with worse positioning.
@@MyCoolHistory Focus Mode is something I wanted to save messing with for a longer time with the demo. It's probably not gonna be essential for HH, but I think you could pull off some funky stuff with it. I'm eyeballing the Backslam specifically...we've already been doing weird positioning shenanigans with that 1 for a while now
@@KPlaysHere I really think people are sleeping on it. It’s directly aiming your attacks on a melee weapon, which is away useful. If used optimally, you’ll be able to hit weak spots more consistently. Essential? Idk. But if you think about every time in past games you were slightly mispositioned to land a hit on the head or wherever…we can avoid those moments much more with good use of focus mode. Edit: It’ll just be a good tool for correcting on the fly.
the numbers will definatly get touched again before release. if they get tuned down/up or get unchanged is the thing that will be relevant but they 100% get a balance overhaul after the publish demos/betas on all platforms are done. would only make sense as its free data and theirfore a free balance round for capcom before release. about hunting horn buffs -> the devs themself already stated that buffs will stay on when switching to other weapons so even if its not the case in this demo build i would think it would be the case for the release version of the game. why would they say "hunting horn buffs will stay when switching and apply to other weapons to not limit the player for this weapon combination choice" otherwise? no hate or anything just my thoughts on some of the mentioned topics in the video, cheers
i think 800 being harder to pull off isn't too farfetched, getting part breaks or trips mid combo will all added to pulling off that kind of damage. realistically tho, id say that's doing 600 cause a 60 hitzone is more likely than an 80. the bubbles on the ground were already set up, so this would have to be preplanned ahead of time. excluding that detail, you showed roughly 12 seconds of footage with that combo, 12 seconds with 600 for average head hitzone means a dps of 50. that would be the benchmark for other weapons to compare to. gunlance (in wilds demo) can achieve just shy of that but also needs a lot of time to get to the heavier hits that really raise the numbers, with more time than 12 seconds it can get a bit higher cause double wyvernfire hits hard but takes long. i feel like we will see more weapons getting a similar hidden boost in damage if given long extended times with the monster. a dream would be to see all ta's have very close times so people stop saying things like a weapon has bad damage. usually what happens in speedrunners script a run where the monster is just on its back 90% of the hunt and the hunter just Shrek's it. if a weapon has better burst damage or not good extended damage, it falls off so we see what weapons get better times. cause the weapons are designed for different situations. but having these long heavy hitting combos for weaker weapons should give them all a fair chance. that's my two cents in the direction they are taking the weapons in wilds atleast
Coming back to this vid after beta demo hype, and I'm wondering if that Attack Up L is for eveyone or just the HH. Since in world, Early horns only ever gave Attack S and then the encore was just for extending the timer, so im curious if this just for beta/demo purposes or if we're actually getting Attack Up L super early on. Either way, super hype for next weeks open beta
That's interesting. Yeah free mind's eye for carrying a horn, possibly with an attack buff like that, would be a problem. I do appreciate that your other songs do last through it, basically treating you like another non HH player until you swap back to put the songs up again, if that's what you want to do. Personally, I will deliberately choose horns with totally different songs lists to stack as many buffs as I can, for the fun of going full bard. They may tweak motion values, maybe some attacks/weapons under performed in their eyes, or did too much damage. So editing some things, after World, is likely. It's nice that you get more damage for stacking more songs, gives you more reason not to just play each song 1 at a time for more hits. One is more hits and more animation commitment spread out but the other is doing it all in 1 go that's shorter but requires more set up and commitment. If a monster is being mounted, and you know where he's going to fall over, then you can set up 3 bubbles. It will be glorious. Ideally weapons should each have more than 1 play style, with situational advantages. Oh performance beat is the reason encore is not trigger a second time, unlike World, I see. Also nice to see the special performance controls. I hope there's a nice variety of special performances, to make our pairs of horns more impactful, for those of us that want to take 2 horns. If you have songs that are exclusively those 2 notes, you can cue them on the road when changing zones. It's not entirely useless and can save you some time. Directional imputs related to camera angle are a pain. Better to have them be consistent rather than guessing what the game will consider back or to the side depending on your angle.
Would be really nice if this damage stayed the same til the end of Wilds lifespan. But were to look back at what they did to Rise demon HH i think we're gonna see a huge nerf sadly.
A difference I see between the versions is that they were mainly aiming to make HH more popular in Rise, not stronger. That means that technically, all they really had to/wanted to do was make it flashy and more approachable. On the other hand, they've said more than a few times that a lot of the Wilds changes were specifically made to buff the weapon, so I'm optimistic
@@KPlaysHere i made a typo, i meant to say Rise's Demo had HH overtuned but the released version was really toned down. like you said they did wanna give HH much needed attention, so i hope it stays,
@@Gumbardo12 right there with you, I already got my days reserved in February lol. Now I just need them to announce the demo so I can get at least a weekend off too
@@KPlaysHere Im super hyped for Wilds. I'm prob gonna rock the GL with the HH as my secondary, since I loved it so much in Rise and the new moves from Iceborne.
sonic wave is like a free screamer/sonic pod. at least in World, its the the pods you use against diablos when its digging underground. you pop one of those and theyll be stuck in the ground for a bit. Echo wave is an actual attack, in World it you can do Impact Echo Wave and Echo Wave Dragon, which will do high blunt or high dragon elemental attack when it goes off. In Wilds, they seem to be called just Echo Wave (Blunt)
Think of it like a screamer pod/Sonic bomb vs a straightforward damaging sound wave (Echo Wave is the offensive 1). In Rise they briefly changed it so that Sonic Waves did both, but now it's looking like they're split up again. You'll mainly be using it on monsters that dig or have sensitive hearing to stun them.
I am still confused by what is the offset Melody. Is it an attack? does it have buffs? is it a counter? I have also heard that there are clashes in MHW, how does that works with the HH?
Clashes are for weapons that can guard so HH doesn't have one. Also how the Offset melody works is that you stock it like other melodies, but it has its own separate place in the UI (so it doesn't use up a song slot) You can then press the button combination to go into kind of an Offset stance, and if you then RELEASE the button (or probably after a few seconds if you hold it) you do a big forward swing that will interrupt monsters if you hit them while they're doing an attack. It's in the Arkveld trailer during the Rey Dau portion.
@@moxedana only weapons with shields can Power Clash, so HH doesn't get that mechanic. Offsets in general are like super armor counters, so you'll take damage but won't get interrupted/knocked back. Offset Melody doesn't have a buff; the 'song' has the 'effect' of doing an Offset Attack
@@SkyonPyon it does release automatically after some time. I didn't time the exact limit but it's a pretty long window. Just keep in mind that you have to manually release it with good timing to Offset counter (so no sitting there waiting for a freebie punish)

Not here to kill the hype, but 3 echo bubble combos is not something I can see being done consistently on everyday quests by even skilled players, the setup seems too crazy to pull on a chaotic hunt. Maybe I lack ambition, but I would rather link many echo bubbles across a wider area to average out a greater DPS and, with some luck, have a monster overlap between two echo bubbles. At least that's my plan as HH is in my top 3 weapons to maybe replace my secondary weapon for this game. Of course, this won't apply to top-tier Speedrunners.
The Dance>Recital combo should always be able to be done with either 2 Self Improvements or any 3 notes song (ideally Echo Wave for straight damage output) if you had 0 notes to start with
man i sure hope the numbers are final, or at least final-ish.

@@surikesu4278 you should actually be able to do that very easily IF a certain song (All Melodies Extended) is still in the game

@@juntacuyan462 the power of music is just that strong!
Watching the epic smashing jam session for the second time and I realised, there is no clutch claw in wilds right?
i think 800 being harder to pull off isn't too farfetched, getting part breaks or trips mid combo will all added to pulling off that kind of damage.
realistically tho, id say that's doing 600 cause a 60 hitzone is more likely than an 80. the bubbles on the ground were already set up, so this would have to be preplanned ahead of time. excluding that detail, you showed roughly 12 seconds of footage with that combo, 12 seconds with 600 for average head hitzone means a dps of 50. that would be the benchmark for other weapons to compare to.
gunlance (in wilds demo) can achieve just shy of that but also needs a lot of time to get to the heavier hits that really raise the numbers, with more time than 12 seconds it can get a bit higher cause double wyvernfire hits hard but takes long.
i feel like we will see more weapons getting a similar hidden boost in damage if given long extended times with the monster. a dream would be to see all ta's have very close times so people stop saying things like a weapon has bad damage. usually what happens in speedrunners script a run where the monster is just on its back 90% of the hunt and the hunter just Shrek's it. if a weapon has better burst damage or not good extended damage, it falls off so we see what weapons get better times. cause the weapons are designed for different situations. but having these long heavy hitting combos for weaker weapons should give them all a fair chance. that's my two cents in the direction they are taking the weapons in wilds atleast

@@voicelessmango5362 still need to get a good feel for the timing, but there's a quick red flash on your Horn at the right time
What's the difference between sonic waves and echo wave?
sonic wave is like a free screamer/sonic pod. at least in World, its the the pods you use against diablos when its digging underground. you pop one of those and theyll be stuck in the ground for a bit.
@@KPlaysHere that makes sense! Cheers!
Sick!
I am still confused by what is the offset Melody. Is it an attack? does it have buffs? is it a counter?
I have also heard that there are clashes in MHW, how does that works with the HH?
Clashes are for weapons that can guard so HH doesn't have one.
Also how the Offset melody works is that you stock it like other melodies, but it has its own separate place in the UI (so it doesn't use up a song slot)
You can then press the button combination to go into kind of an Offset stance, and if you then RELEASE the button (or probably after a few seconds if you hold it) you do a big forward swing that will interrupt monsters if you hit them while they're doing an attack.

Does the music change with each performance beat?
Wait so what's the difference between performance vs encore?
@@chasegaetze4507 Performance (or Recital) is your basic move for starting to play songs.
Performance Beat is like Performance, but used during Recital Mode to both start the next stored song and also deal more damage.
Encore replays everything you played beforehand using Performances/Performance Beats. That either applies the effect again or boosts the amount of buff you get from a specific song
so did they get rid of the spin attack completely? it was what got me into hunting horn and was kinda sad to see it be a meter effect in rise.
Yes the echo spin attack from Iceborne is completely gone, and the weapon is much better because of it. (that attack was way too strong and overcentralized the meta to be just spam it in iceborne)

Damage dealing with a side of support you mean😉 and yeah, they tried something with Rise but this is MUCH more along the lines of what HH should be
Not here to kill the hype, but 3 echo bubble combos is not something I can see being done consistently on everyday quests by even skilled players, the setup seems too crazy to pull on a chaotic hunt.
They will showcase the true skill ceiling with 3 echo bubbles and will be pulling that way more consistently.
Please please no nerfs just nooooo
