I think the point about 'would I live here forever?' is an outstanding point. Came here last summer from So Cal with my wife and (then) 1 year old son. Coming up on one year here and I do love it --- prob won't be here forever though? Who knows? Best part about moving somewhere is that you don't need to stay forever! I feel like people freak themselves out about moving when literally if you don't like it --- you can always go home or move somewhere else. Takes the pressure off and can allow someone to move somewhere new :-)
You are absolutely right. This is such a great point of view (I’ll have to pin 📌)! I have moved around quite a bit and having a perspective like this makes navigating life and moving a lot easier. Thank you for sharing 😃
I moved away 2 times cause I didn’t have things together. I’ll be moving back this year now I’m smarter and I realize out of all the states in America, Arizona just makes sense
Grew up in Maine my whole life & I plan on getting married next year. My fiancé and I are considering Phoenix bc it’s warmer and I have family out there. Your video is my starting point and I’m excited to learn about Arizona through someone who looks like me (it may not be a big factor in our decision, but I appreciate your input a lot). Thank you for sharing :)
I want to live there. I’m a Florida girl so I’m used to severely heat, violent weather with hurricanes/tropical weather and I’m used to a huge big city fast life. However I’m temporarily in Georgia but want to go somewhere to reset my life and rebuild my life to set for the future.
That’s great!! I love this for you. Phoenix can really give you that reset (I definitely had that). It’s not too crazy here 🤭😉. And you can definitely try it for a year and if you like it, you can stay longer. I think you will 😊
I live in California and I work in Phoenix 2 weeks out of the month and love it there that I bought land to build my house there in the future but I love it in AZ too and the people are much nicer there than here and the car meet scene is way more chill and not so wild like here but cops hardly break up the car meets in AZ and California has too many hard up cops to give you tickets for fixed up cars and Reff your cars with mods rather than concentration on the real high crime here so yea ,I'm planning on moving there since cost of living is way cheaper and gas and taxes too make a big difference.
Finally 😩😩😩 Hei God… I must be your biggest fan o😂… see me smiling like mumu. I miss your videos please post more abeg . Good to have you back. Much love ❤️😍🥳😅💕🥰
I’m planning the big move to AZ. I’m torn on the area. What would you recommend for a single black women with no kiddos. I was looking in the biltmore are or downtown phoenix. Any suggestions?
Thank you looking to confirm the move for my family--we’ve lived around the predominately white community and the working black family and we feel more comfortable living amongst our own people. Thank you for the information.
I don’t have to get new batteries or tires often. I just stick with my routine maintenance and I’m good☺️. When I get new tires, I have the warranty on them because I’ve had a few nail puncture. Free or very cheap to replace. You can honestly do without the garage as long as you have assigned covered parking. If you have more than one vehicle and need it in a shaded area; then you can consider getting a garage. But you don’t need it. Cost quite a bit too
@@faithzabe best way to explain Fl is put a sweat suit on over a garbage back then put a plasic bag around your head and sit in a sauna..no im not exagerating lol its hell
Moved a year ago and we’re also in North Phoenix, definitely loving it here, the absolute best weather for us. The only thing I don’t like is ‘AZ natives’ - non Indigenous people who were born here and think they’re entitled to this land hating on everyone who CHOSE to live here.
Heard you have to budget atleast a little over $300 for light bill because of how much you have to use your AC 😅 that’s how hot it is. It’s just crazy to have to pay such huge amount for light bill like wow
If you have a house, that sounds about right. I have been in 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and during the peak heat months it’ll range in the low to mid $100s. There’s a difference when you live in an older building vs newer.
Yayy! Welcome. You are coming at a great time. Not too hot like the summer but definitely warmer than most of the country haha. Hence why I love it here. It gets a bit chilly in the early mornings and late nights (50s) so be sure to have a light jacket or sweater. For most of the day you’ll be good with a shirt or dress as it’ll be in the high 70s to 80s.
I’ve lived in the EV for years and it’s nice over here, if you can take the heat 😂 I love the outdoor opportunities we have like trails, lakes, parks, etc. Not just the shopping and dinning, overall we have a lot!! 😊😊
Depends on the part of town you live but Yes, there are buses. More buses in central phoenix and the surrounding areas. You just need to check your route and It may take longer to get to your destination.
You can. We have a lot of international students that attend the colleges/universities. You just want to make sure you’re always in status while living here.
i moved to texas 2 years ago. the drivers are awful! worse than LA! (use to live in LA). how many months out of the year is it hot in phoenix ? me & my gf thinking moving there
Arizona doesn’t serve me anymore….I’m sorry I hope you all enjoy it, I hope Arizona treats you way better than it treated me, Arizona don’t like me the way it used too…
I'm born and raised here...3 generations....because of the influx in population my family is now forced PRICED out of the only place we have ever lived. 😢Enjoy the state I once called home.
Yes it’s called free choice in free economy, you’re not entitled to any land in the U.S. unless you’re part of a tribe or you bought that land, period.
You sound like my mama my mama said the same thing he does he dry heat and cold heat heat is all heat my mother does not like the summers at all she's from the south originally she does not like the heat at all she likes her seasons
I grew up in Arizona and the reality of it is; there is no going outside during summer. This is fine if you’re alone but if you have kids there is a good chance they will become overweight like myself and my two brothers. I wish I could be more active but it’s just not possible. The gyms in phoenix Arizona are overcrowded and expensive. Growing up here was rough and I would rather live in another state if I had the choice. The public schools are a nightmare and universities are also not that good.
I completely disagree, I have small kids and we never are cooped up the way we had to be back when we lived in WA for 7-8 months straight because of cold, rain and expensive and overcrowded indoor playground facilities. There’s plenty of very affordable indoor adventure parks for kids and we go to the pool either in the mornings or late evenings every day.
Yes, it's very racist here. The Mexicans look down upon blacks here, which is something I never experienced before. Imagine feeling racism from both whites and Hispanics. It's not worth it here. Totally overrated. So many better places where black people can live better and more comfortably.
I have experienced it quite a bit of racism over my past 2 years. I am a military brat who joined the military and have lived a lot of places. This is the worst in terms of micro aggressions I have ever experienced. This is definitely a temporary move for me to reset my life. I like the weather and I like the space to really start a new chapter. However, I prefer being around more of my own people and others outside my community who are a bit more used to greater diversity.
I’m planning the big move to AZ. I’m torn on the area. What would you recommend for a single black women with no kiddos. I was looking in the biltmore are or downtown phoenix. Any suggestions?
You will love Biltmore or downtown especially if you want to be close to all the action. Old town Scottsdale, Tempe and Arcadia area are also great options. Let me know what you decide! 😊

You only pay that much during summer months, we paid exactly the same in the winter living in WA trying to keep the house somewhat warm.
During the summer yes. But during winter it’s much lower.
I would say....car Windshield insurance!
Yesssss! Omg YES. I learnt the hard way. I definitely have a $0 deductible for windshield. I’m pinning this comment 📌

What's that?
Moved to Arizona 5 years ago from midwest. I want to move its just too hot
I get it!
How’s the weather in April ? Going next month and unsure if I need to get some braids or if it’s not too warm enough yet to do leave out sew in
For me it’s definitely a great weather. Probably in the 80s. So braids won’t be bad since it will start warming up for pool season 😊
Can someone please search where to look for apartments in Arizona? Which website do I need to look at please
Apartments.com and Zillow are good resources to utilize.

Do you get flooding there?
Not in the areas that I’ve lived. We don’t get a whole lot of rain, so flooding isn’t that common.
The hottest city in USA is Key West . Also Miami is crazy hot and crazy driving . Thanks for the video .
Thanks for watching!
Trust me phoenix and tucson is hotter than key west. Lived in both. Ain't even close ..
Haha ikr 😅 . I really didn’t want to argue about it. Lol been to all the cities, and nothing compares to what AZ dishes out in the Summers.
