SuperSonic2324 Cox I’m so glad someone else said this. I always hear it as yanny and I heard laurel until the first three times it said the word and tried to listen again and i heard yanny
This is the first time I heard Laurel, only took 100 times of hearing it in total lol but even then Yanny is still present and overpowering. It was only after listening really carefully throughout the pitch changes I heard laurel which was softer and more in the background but I'm glad I finally heard laurel and don't think I'm crazy anymore. Even though I know the reasoning behind is high or low frequency perspective
the one on the website you linked sounds like laurel but that isn't the actual one i went back to the actual one and it still sounds like yanny to me sorry bud
I finally hear it as laurel. I couldn't fathom how one could hear it as laurel until this pitch change video. I heard it change at 120 but went to another site hear it playing over and over in the original controversial audio and heard it change without pitch change so I rewound to see if it was the same audio and sure enough I began hearing it as laurel all the time now. Weird.
I hear Yanny, but around 160% it almost sounded like 'Jimmy'the reason they hear Yanny is due to the fact that they're more sensitive to higher pitches, hearing Yanny instead of Laurel. Usually, those who are hard of hearing and generally older hear Laurel, while younger people hear Yanny
Ok I've found that one part of this is whichever word your brain is predisposed to hear. On the original, as well as the beginning frequencies of this video I heard Laurel. However one of the lower frequencies on this video allowed me to finally hear yanny. Once I had heard yanny I was able to go to the higher frequencies, of which I had before only heard Laurel, and hear yanny. I was also able to hear laurel the entire way if I focused hard enough. This points out while a lot of it is due to the frequencies exposing one word more, because of our brain's selection of frequency perception, predisposition to which word you think you are hearing greatly influences what you hear as well.
This also means that many people who hear yanny or laurel will have a more difficult time being able to begin to hear the other word since their brain is already predisposed to hear the one that they think it is.
The younger you are you can hear yanny the. When it gets higher U hear Laurel but when ur older U hear Laurel then yanny I think but in my opinion I heard Yammy the whole way through lol
I could only hear yanny before but for one glorious second I heard laurel. of course, as it got to normal pitch it definitely sounded like yanny and there was no possible way it could be laurel.
If you hear yanny or yammy, your ears and brain aren’t fully developed. If you hear laurel then your brain is fully developed and so are your ears. Please don’t get offended it you heard yanny or yammy :) if you hear laurel it might’ve changed at 100% to yammy. That’s normal
130% to 120% in the middle i heard yanny. Thanks. I cannot hear yanny in the original laurel - yanny challenge. :D Amazing how you hear same thing differently by adjusting the pitch
I can hear both at a range of around 80-120%. It depends how I've primed my brain - with the higher pitches helping me hear "laurel" and the lower ones "yanny". The psychology of illusions is so fun.
I'm in the same situation! I have played him a bunch of different videos where they are slowing it down and taking it apart and he only hears Yanny. At first i only heard Laurel but than i started to hear both, which now i can hear both.
I heard “Yammy” until I watched this video. The first part of the video started off and immediately I could hear “Laurel.” As it progressed, I could start to hear “Yanni” again until the end when “Laurel” came back. Now I can’t hear “Yanni” nor “Yammy” in the original video.
low frequency says Laurel, high frequency says Yanny (basically the bot says both names). That's why, during the high pitch, you hear only laurel as Yanny's frequency is too high to hear to begin with. Same goes for the low pitch where Laurel is too low to hear, so you can only hear Yanny. Put the bot on normal pitch, depending on people's audition, some will hear more high frequencies than low ones, but the bot clearly says both names (two voices)
1. Laurel up to 130% 2. Laurel & Yanny together from 130% - 140% 3. Yanny from 140% - 160% 4. Yanny & Laurel together from 160% - 120% 5. Laurel from 120% to finish.
i watched this video and for the first time i heard laurel. afterwards i started the video again to show my cousin and heard yanny every time after that
It changed from Laurel to yanny at 100% but it changed so drastically I thought it was fake, so I listened to 70% again and I couldn't here Laurel anymore...
I never hear Yanny, now with lower pitch I can hear Yerry, but the r is always there. I'm curious about what's making us hear this so differently. Maybe cos I'm a musicion and have such good ear in that matter? Any other singers who can't hear the "n" in there and always hear laurel with normal pitch? I'm genuenly curious if that has something to do with it 🤔
I’m superhuman, I can hear both of them in every pitch. It’s like a guy with higher pitch saying yanny and another guy with lower pitch saying laurel, both of them saying at once. You will notice after a while.
I always heard Laurel.
But when the pitch got lower, I heard Yanny.

You have to really really raise the pitch for me to hear Laurel. I can only hear Yarry.
Ohhhh the frequencies make us hear it differently. Thought I was bugging out.
JustinBieber wise words from JustinBieber. Tell me why are you on your sister’s account?
JustinBieber Your goofy ass username.
If you hear yanny or yammy, your ears and brain aren’t fully developed. If you hear laurel then your brain is fully developed and so are your ears. Please don’t get offended it you heard yanny or yammy :) if you hear laurel it might’ve changed at 100% to yammy. That’s normal

The first time I heard Laurel was at 70 percent and took a while to hear it. Truly fascinating
Was laurel for me at 100%, but then at 120 it immediately became yanni.
I've never heard any traces of laurel
Changes to yanny at 130 for me

That's how 130% was for me
Changes to yanny at 100
Changes to laurel at 80
I STILL don't hear yanny. When they change the pitch to 130%, I hear either "Lori" or "Youri", but why can't I hear what millions hear?
B Kap ikr! Are our ears broken?
KeVenom no there are a lot of people who hear one thing the whole time
70: Laurel
80: Both
90+: Yanny
120% became yanny
Above was laural
i've literally never heard yanny a single time.
I watched this video and heard it transition to Laurel, then watched a video and now I don't hear Laurel at all, I'm super confused.
I hear yanny the entire time :/
introllium cover your speaker to hear laurel, it worked for my dad.
I only hear laurel at 70 smh
Boi McBoi same lol
Me too
All I heard is Laurel then Yarry not Yanny then Laurel.
Nam Dam same here I never here yanny just yarry
I can hear both at a range of around 80-120%. It depends how I've primed my brain - with the higher pitches helping me hear "laurel" and the lower ones "yanny". The psychology of illusions is so fun.
I hear yaurel
My boyfriend cannot hear laurel at all... wtf
Breakup time
🤣
I'm in the same situation! I have played him a bunch of different videos where they are slowing it down and taking it apart and he only hears Yanny. At first i only heard Laurel but than i started to hear both, which now i can hear both.
Chloe Wiseman Neither can I.
Xao Why would they need to break up just because they hear something different?
Yammy at 130
#TEAMYAMMY #YAMMY #IHEARYAMMY
Kaya Buchan I head laurel
Kaya Buchan #IHEARYANNY
It's clearly yanny
Kaya Buchan #teamyanny!
I heard “Yammy” until I watched this video. The first part of the video started off and immediately I could hear “Laurel.” As it progressed, I could start to hear “Yanni” again until the end when “Laurel” came back. Now I can’t hear “Yanni” nor “Yammy” in the original video.
from 80% to 90%, I can hear both! This is good
It doesn’t sound like yanni it sounds like “Yuri”
I hear Jelly.
when it was fast i heard laurel but then when it got slower, i heard yanny..... MIND BLOWN

It changes a lot and when I go back to it it's different wtf
1. Laurel up to 130%
2. Laurel & Yanny together from 130% - 140%
3. Yanny from 140% - 160%
4. Yanny & Laurel together from 160% - 120%
5. Laurel from 120% to finish.
I still hear yanny;-;
I'm getting frustrated that I heard laurel only once
I always heard Laurel but when it's very high pitched i start to hear both yanny and laurel
It just changed at 140 then I went back and it changed at 100
i watched this video and for the first time i heard laurel. afterwards i started the video again to show my cousin and heard yanny every time after that
It changed from Laurel to yanny at 100% but it changed so drastically I thought it was fake, so I listened to 70% again and I couldn't here Laurel anymore...

It still baffles me, like the LAUREL feels so pronounced and the Yanny so teeny and disguised - yet others still perceive it the other way.
I heated laurel one time in the beginning and I didn't hear it again I kept watching it over and over and it only happened one time :'(
Switched from Laurel to Yanny at 80%. Dang.
Edited because I realized the line I thought was 100 was actually 80
I’m superhuman, I can hear both of them in every pitch.
It’s like a guy with higher pitch saying yanny and another guy with lower pitch saying laurel, both of them saying at once.
You will notice after a while.
