Grasshopper Tutorial - Building Facade
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 фев 2019
- In this rhino Grasshopper Tutorial, we will model something similar to the Pencil Office facade. First, we will draw a simple line which will define the height of the facade and then by using evaluate curve and graph mapper divide the line with a non-linear distribution. In the end, we will talk about the "Relative Item" component and how it can help us connect the point together.

outstanding Tutorial and Example Thank you.
This is incredible! I love how you easily explained everything including the components and their function individually. I love you. Salam from Indonesia 🇮🇩!
Btw this tutorial reminds me of math class which I hated so much 🤣
Easiest grasshopper tutorial i've seen. Thanks
Tnx :)
Brilliant! Thank you so much!
🙏
Thanks for share the knowledge.
🙏
Thank you! Really helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear that!

Thanks a lot! :)
You're welcome :)
Thanks Man 👌

superb!!!! thank u!!!! =)
✋
this is awesome have you thought about doing more puffer fish tutes?
Thanks , i'm planning it for future videos
Thank you :) This is a really good tutorial. I am facing one problem though, the relative item is not working for me. When I hover over the output, t shows "empty generic data parameter". Not sure why it happens. I should probably mention that I did the script differently, by extracting the vertical edges of a rectangular massing, so I have 4 sets of data (So that I can do the whole building at once).
very nice video as usual, if u can make a tutorial for this project ( King’s Cross Station / John McAslan + Partners ).it would be awesome .
Thanks I will take a look
hello!can this be used on a warped surface to achieve the same diagrid effect?thanks:)
hi, you started to the model as using a line. I wonder how can we start to use a surface?
I LIKE YOU VIEW ! Hope you will help me . how to do this on a surface? THANK YOU !
can i use shift item instead of the relative item?
Hi, Very nice tutorial, but i have a little question. ¿if i need to add thickness to this line, how i can do this? Thank u for all the information of this channel (y)
Hi thanks
You can split the base surface with the lines and frame the panels
@@ParametricHouse With an offset for the lines ?
Can we get the same result using panels?
Just trying to learn GH... Is the script itself downloadable anywhere? Wld be great to learn it also from another angle. Thank you, anyone! Amazing to learn in such way!

Thanks so much!
How to give it a thickness after we have done everything. Which tool should i use?
You can use "Offset Surface" component for that and give a number slider for the thickness to the "Both Sides" input.
the facade transforms from triangular to rectangular pattern but the script keeping the diamond pattern all the way up
hello, great video, but fail when I try to connect the "line (between two points)" whit "relative item". I did ecstasy you taught but doesn't work. What's wrong?! Thanks a lot!
Hi Julia Thanks. Be sure to use Relative item instead of relative Items and also reparametrize the output so it cleans the groups!
@@ParametricHouse it still didnt work what do i do
I can't open the "Set Text" window under the Relative Item Offset! what do i do wrong ?
please. how i can make a windows i mean glass in this facade ?
How to add material to this model brother
Is it possible use on curved surface ?
I would love to know the same thing!
You can use the same technique for a series of profile curves
thank you. Btw is it possible for pufferfish tutorials?
I will do my research about pufferfish and start a video about it soon
Sir can you do video on Ladybug and Galapagos it will be very helpful
We have a tutorial on Ladybug and also a course lesson of radiation optimization but we will consider it for future tutorials
Thank you
