Hello everyone, please note on castor seed issue,i forgot to mention in the interview the most important part, castor seeds have ricin poison, thus kikuyu women had to remove the outer layer of the castor seed. So please note, you must remove the outer layer of the castor seed before consuming. Apologies for not mentioning this very important detail. Please note, you must remove the outer layer of the seed. Thankyou

Kuna clan's najua wako na hizo curse's
Including ours where I come from
Na ile wakati nilijua hiyo kitu nilikusanya watu wetu nikawaelezea vile tutafanya
Kutoka hio siku huwa naitwa wazimu na watu wetu
Warisema generation curses zao zilimarizwa na yesu

True, life is spiritual. The traditions of diverse tribes all over the world attest to this fact. However, these traditions cannot be wholly relied upon because their true knowledge has been lost over time especially among communities who never had a reliable system of record keeping except for word of mouth. If you look around today, only remnants of these traditions remain because of rural urban migration. Nevertheless, all these truths are recorded in many sacred texts with the Bible leading as an authority in good customs emanating from the author of life, even the almighty God. Despite the fact that the pink man used Christianity to disenfranchise Africans and many other communities around the world, it still does not take away from the fact that the principles of the Christian faith are potent and have the power to change lives for the better and even break the generational curses as long as they are practiced earnestly by worshipers of the Deity.

This is quite an enriching conversation. Especially touching on culture and justice from an African (kikuyu) perspective and wealth.
On the point of wealth I concur that capitalism is unethical on many aspects and greed drives it to overlook humanity and love for others. A common example of unethical means of making money that we deem as normal and fine is the hiking of fares during school opening periods and holidays.
    People
There are ethical ways to be wealthy monetarily although it will take you time but it comes with invaluable benefits other than purely monetary gain at the end of it.
    Thank you for the conversation.

Re: ethical capitalism.. I'd guess that the answer has something to do with where in the world you are, and the baseline quality of life? I did a bit of reading after this interview, and a compelling answer that I read was a response from a historian that read:
“What has tended historically to dictate which end of the [ethical] spectrum capitalism appears on is the ability of ordinary people to rein back capitalism’s excesses through the actions of the state on the one hand, and of social movements such as trade unions on the other. Countries with strong states and strong social movements are able to develop forms of capitalism that are quite ethical in this respect and Scandinavia would perhaps offer the most complete examples. However, countries where there is authoritarian governance, where trade unions and other social movements are weak, are often characterized by a highly unethical and obnoxious form of capitalism that preys on individual weakness to generate profits for a small minority.”
