Agree even i have done once in my life before joining the Manger promised something and after joining the KRA was some thing else rather than absconding i updated him politely and resigned the day i joined by evening.
I took lot of time - 1 month. After my joining my manager was not supportive. Doesn’t wiling to arrange any KT sessions or documentation, no intro about the project or work road map. Just wanted to me to magically figure out everything. And one day he asked me to send an excel sheet of how I spent each hour since my joining. Instead of being an enabler he was blocker.
Never do that without another offer in hand, in short temper. Though that manager is very bad but it's too early to take a decision just within a day and resign the same day....

I am currently in a project with a MNC who is one of the top money makers in semiconductor and believe me , my manager here is toxic. Assigns work late evening Friday and immediately asks for an update on Monday morning and says “It’s been 3 days since we’ve started this and this is not what’s expected ! “ . I strictly am against working in the weekends because I want to use that time to relax and upskill myself.
The fact is that people always lie on both the sides, recruiters to get the best candidate at lower CTC and the candidate to get the best paying job even though they lack the right skills and attitude required for the job
but wasnt there an offer letter or something this guy had to sign on day1 of joining formalities etc ? which normally says notice of 1month while on probation and then 3 months after completing that initial probation period of 6months or so? so ideally as i understand that even if you want to quit after day 1, you need to wait 1 month post that to officially get relieved , else might be marked as obsconding.. is it any different now ?
That employee made the best decision of his life. I couldn't do it in my first job and still to this date I am regretting my decision. I wasted 3.3 years on that stupid job. I did quit after 6 months but somehow I again entered into that same job. To this date, I regret it.
Another scam from companies is the term called CTC. They always talk about your salary per year, which when u see seems at once like a LOT. 15 LPA, but if you see your in hand salary its just peanuts. Nowadays i never even mention the word CTC in interviews. I only like to talk salary per hour or per month.

I did it in january with a mumbai mnc. IMO other markets are also vulnerable wrt stability in income no matter the amount of time you put in so called self employement. However if he finds something better then its good. One can always say grass is greener on the other side.
