- In this video I’m gonna be going over how to remove and replace the bumper and what kind of parts can be damaged underneath the front bumper of your shark IQ 1000 series robot vacuum cleaner. This video was thanks to a customer that had a very unique situation.

What is that see through plastic piece on the bumper called? I need a new one, mine cracked or can I just use tape or something? Does it have to be see through? Mine was black
It does have to be a see thru material for the inferred light to go through or you can just remove it and should work fine
Do you know where I can get replacement springs?
shark 1000 .cleared bumper all part moving ,code 6 keeps coming up ,what to do
I was able to replace my broken "visor" /bumper cover because of your video.
Unfortunately, even though all of the buttons move freely still, it says Error # 6.
I have taken it apart multiple times and called customer support and they said it "might be a bad battery" (what the??) and that I should unhook the battery for at least 30 minutes and if that doesn't "fix it by resetting to original factory settings" then I need to get a new vacuum.
??? Are they serious?

Can you tell me what kind of spring the little buttons on the top uses? I took off my bumper and one of those top button is stuck so i need the spring. Do you have a part number or a link for the exact spring I need??

I'm still getting Error 6. I've made sure all the sensors are clean and the buttons on the top and front are moving freely. I'd really appreciate any other ideas. My model is AV1110ARUS
My sensor is cracked in half vacuum runs for a bit then starts spinning In a circle any ideas??
I had the error #6 bumper stuck code on my rv1001ae. It was still under warranty so I contacted Shark. They took me through some basic error checking on it while watching through my phone's camera and came to the conclusion that it was pooched.
They said they were replacing it under warranty for a $30 shipping fee and I could do whatever I wanted with the old one.
Just got the new one in the mail today and then watched this video. After removing the bumper I made sure everything was clean and actuated, now no alarm and I have another vacuum for the second floor!

My vacuum keeps running into obstacle.
It use to have a faulty drive motor on one leg due to the wheel encoder, the wheel was fixed and the robot drives. But the movement is sporadic and it keeps running into walls

With a shark ion r75 i got a message sating that the top bumper got stuck

All switches and springs good and front metal good to.
Sadly it's probably a issue with a motherboard this is very common on these models. Use the warranty that comes with it one year.

@Smitty’s World I have the same model as in the video. I’ve cleaned & checked everything as well. Sadly, mine is out of warranty. Do I need to replace the whole vacuum? Or can the motherboard realistically be replaced?

Thank you for this video! Was able to pull my lower model apart to find that the middle switch was stuck, pulled it out and it's running perfectly again.

If the bumper cover broke off could that be the reason its not working? do you have any 1000 series to sell? it turns on and the plays a noise (song) over and over. or do I need to further investigate?
Sorry I don't sell parts anymore . It could be but most the time its the sensor itself that's damaged.

my front window (the visor - see minute 6.12) is cracked and i get an error code... i searched the web to find replacement part and was not able to find one... my model is the one without the chip/sensor built in the front bumper. (RV1001ARCA), can you help?

I have followed all of your easy to follow steps. Nothing is stuck or not moving freely, but I keep getting an error code 6 about the bumper.. Any suggestions at all?

I have a rv1001ae I use it in my basement shop. First the cliff censors would go off every 1 or 2 mins. I would clean them and it would still do it. so I opened it up and modded the censors so they wouldnt go off since I don't have any stairs. worked great for several days. It would self clean adn keep on trucking. Then one day it stopped and told me the bumper was stuck. Its not as far as I can tell. took it apart and check all the switches and spring buttons on the top and everything seeemd to be in working order. Any thoughts???? I am missing someting or do I need to buy a new bumper brain. if I do you got one??? Thanks.
Hmm interesting 🤨 could be the motherboard those models have a ton of issues with components going bad randomly. Can’t trip the sensors since that’s how it moves when it hits something.

No sadly im phasing out of selling robot parts as the cost to get the parts and the chance of issues is to high for the profit margins anymore.

I imagine you are pretty busy, I would a love some advice from you sir. I have a 1000 series that has a cliff sensor error. I can get the bot to work a short while before it errors. I can tap on the front bumper a few times and it works. It will wonder around and then hit something then error 7. Any suggestions you have are welcome. Thank you!
is the front bumper sticking? Alot of times the little switches under the bumper are sticking take it off and clean then see if they move free.

Was gifted a shark months ago and just now set it up. Come to find out, after watching your video I took my bumper off and the silver part on the front WASN’T EVEN THERE lol. There is just a place I can see where it’s supposed to pop in. Could I order just that part?
