Does anyone explain what the advanced batting settings are suppose to be on. That seems pretty important yet I haven’t seen a single video explaining it.
im a rookie but its all situational. If you have zero outs and a dude on 3rd base. You’d like to run him in so you hit away from 3rd and contact it, get a pop up or something towards 1st base. Normal swings have a bigger hit radius, so if you can’t really time it or tell what your opponent is throwing dont use X. if the opponent gets predictable and say he throws a fast ball down the middle every 2-2, go for the power swing

I am currently using directional hitting and I also never hit square. It’s almost always x, rarely circle. I’ll use circle for my pitchers at bat so they make basic contact. When my pitcher gets on base and my batting order restarts, it’s a win win. Thanks for this video. I’m hoping it helps my batting improve.

Changing the camera to strike zone has definitely helped me out although I hate that I can only see part of the batter. Couple questions. 1. Can you explain why you don't use power swing? Is it better to use it on directional hitting? 2. I see there are some options for guess pitch. Do you use that at all? Great hitting! I'm an Xbox series X user and love this game! I am in a wheelchair (car accident when I was 17 and about to be drafted to play professional ball but that's a whole nother story.) I'm a quadriplegic and both my hands are affected so I kind of use my palms on the joysticks rather than my fingers if you can believe that! I'm not GREAT but I've been playing for many years now. I'm 50 now and still love gaming! Maybe I'll try your suggestions as far as no circles and keeping my stick higher in the zone then adjusting. I haven't played online yet but I've been practicing in a few exhibition games to get the feel of everything. I've been using strike zone 2 or 3 only because I like seeing my batter. YOU definitely know how to hit and I'll give it a shot! Thanks, Nick

I have tried EVERYTHING...UNTIL I came upon your video. In just a few games, I have already improved my hitting. I still have to practice more on plate discipline. I am making more and better contact with the ball, even with foul balls. I don't think I can hit any other way now. THANK YOU!!!!

2k mechanics on both ends for me still. This game mechanics sucks!!! Anything analog sucks!!! Button tappin for 5 yr olds imo. Just not real. Also when you are dependent on just two camera angles for hitting im mp then ur screwed and know the game is not for skillfull!!! Bit of a disclaimer. I was in the top ten on mlb 2k9 to mlb 2k13 online. I get busy on the sticks. This button smashing is for the birds!!! Game is a 3 out of 5.
Can anyone help me out, I like the way the camera follows the player when hits the ball in Moments etc, but when I play games it follows the ball, is there a way to change this??
Idk what console u play, but just use the bottom button swing, I heard it's the best and make sure u hold the button when u swing, I used to have a problem w quickly tapping it and It would always check swing.. don't do that

So every time I go into a game (I’m a as) it tells me when I’m loading in that I’m a Lf. And then when I am done loading in it immediately tells me I have been subbed a LF and I can’t bat or anything. This happened after I said I didn’t wanna play LF and then I was traded. Any tips or help?

Watch the batters drop step on his swing. Batters have 4 different ones. It’s not going to be perfect every time but it’s what helped me when I first started playing years ago. Example is in the video at 8:50 .. Watch the timing when the batters foot drops and when he swings
It really is, It’s the objective of baseball. But I practice fastballs and I get pretty decent but the second I throw sliders into practice I start tanking..
when every hit is a homer, that view is basically the same as cheating......that IS RIDICULOUS WHERE IS THE FUN? every hit is a double or homerun, thats the same thing as cheating by changing the view.......

Have to tell you that this really helped my pci location up and down. Still dropping my pci on meatballs right down the middle but overall had a better hitting day using this
I get why people like this but the batting is sooooo hard for no reason I can’t hit a single ball anywhere I’m in practice mode and after 33 throws I hit 2 fouls and a shitty hit
Just a lot of practice, MLB has a very big learning curve. Just practice a lot watch, hitting tip videos and other good streamers and I promise you will start hitting consistent bombs if you put the work in.

In settings you go to Batting & Baserunning and scroll all the way down and go to PCI Color and change it to whatever you want it to be

Normal forsure. Contact is just for hitting the ball, it won’t be a very hard hit but you r more likely to make contact with the ball.

Having no inner pci actually might help me because I Focus too much on trying to get good pci placement which usually leads to me missing the pitch.
I'm playing franchise and the cpu is controlling all the pitching. Same when I'm up to bat the cpu is controlling my batter...what am I doing wrong

Yeah In gameplay settings go to fielding and go to In play view defense. Idk what camera your looking for but that’s where it’ll be.

You need to switch from analog to zone

i would say... do the moments with zone turned on, because as you keep failing and failing you eventually get better

I’m consistently hitting, but it’s a LOT of pop flies. Almost every hit is a pop fly it seems like.
i think they had to nerf the home runs. I get tooooo many pop fly perfect hits now

I believe on Xbox. X = power hit, A = normal hit, B = contact hit.

90% of the time I use normal. Sometimes when I have two strikes on me I’ll do a contact swing. I never use power.

You have to hold the swing button. Pressing it will cause a check swing. Hopefully that’ll help you guys❤️
