Your tip about following the ball is something I tried before and gave up on pretty quick. After seeing how well you do with it I gave it a proper try for a few games and I'm batting much much better. Great video!

The black screen is from the console settings, if you’re on PlayStation you go to Sound and Screen then display area settings

So you start your PCI up in the zone..then drop it down to where the pitch is going to be? Or are you moving the PCI and pressing the swing button at the same time?
I really struggle with not being jerky with my pci and moving it slight and smooth. Do you use grips on your sticks for ur controller? I think that might be my issue
I’ve always loved this game and no matter how good or bad I did I always played. But, after watching your video and doing what you said I’ve been scoring like crazy and the HR rate has gone up big time!! Thank you for your advice and videos they’ve helped me a ton!! The black screen around the game is because you have the display settings set to the wrong resolution for your monitor or TV. Used to do it on my cheap 1366 by 768 TV with a 720p signal but fit the screen properly with a 1080p signal.
Man, RedMamba have to say thx to your video and technique or advice on using power swing and setting the pci up high in strike zone is genius. It’s easy to say focus on where ball comes out of pitchers hand but putting pci up in zone easily brings pitch in to view. After long efforts I finally did the Duvall 2 HRs and then the Dejong same day after multiple days. First time player on Xbox. Thanks

I wonder if this power hitting method would work in showdown. All the baseballs I make contact with that say good or perfect end up in a CPU players glove.
I haven’t tried it against CPU but I’m sure it’ll work the same if not even easier

it’s your display settings. i used to think it wasn’t because every other game was fine but i went to settings>sound and screen>display area settings> then just enlarge it and it fixed my problem. it was bugging me for days

I wonder if this is sustainable up until higher difficulties...some guys have really small PCIs and it could make it harder to really track the ball (on top of an even smaller PCI when you power swing) on hall of fame or legend difficulty

Mamba the problem with the black screen is in your PlayStation display settings in the sound and video tab
If I'm already hitting well with directional, should I even change my settings to zone? Does it make that much of a difference?

Yes zone is the best by far the rest are terrible
If you want to consistently get better then yes you should switch to zone. It relies way less on randomness than the other hitting settings. Your skill cap on directional is going to be much lower, that’s the trade off for it being easier than zone.
If you’re just playing casually for fun and don’t want to learn zone hitting then of course don’t change it

hey i can help you so you dont have the black screen around the side of your stream. i will need to ask you a few questions about how you stream and what platform you use but it shouldnt be to hard to get rid of i have done it myself

I think is you own tv setting. Might have to change it to full screen. Prob have a different ratio.
I only use power on like moments where the guy doesn't have much power and I need to hit dingers, for me if a dude has 85+ power x swings hit tons of homers for me. Good tips 👍
to fix black screen go to setting on playstation go to sound and screen and go to display area settings and enlarge it all the way

I had this problem too all you have to do is go to your settings the go to sound and screen then display area settings then enlarge it and you should be good

What is the box that shows you perfect perfect hits I can’t see it when i hit
Then u are not getting a perfect hit it only shows when u do plus you will hear a distinct sound of like a hard crack of the bat when you hit the ball

I think that issue with the black around your screen is the factor that it may not be in 720 or 1080 p actual PS4 settings

Lol I have 7 guys with 30+ home runs on Franchise. I don't move the PCI at all except for just a tiny bit in direction of the ball. I use center PCI and just let it sit in default. I let everything on the edges go until 2 strikes. Most the time they will float the ball right over the middle straight to my PCI before 5 pitches. I just wait for the good pitch and then smack them outta the yard.

Been playing since the release, and I've hit several HR's during play with NORMAL swing. I haven't hit a single HR using the POWER swing, I always fly balls. Why?
Probably because it’s just like real life if you try to kill the ball every time you’re not gonna make good contact with every swing. Stick with normal or contact swing
@@cameronhunger4083 I don't try to kill the ball every at-bat. But when I do use the POWER swing when I feel I've got good location of the pitch, popups or fly balls. But normal swing and sometimes PERFECT timing happen all the time.

I'm trying to figure out, why I can't learn how to get the timing down I'm either way to early or way to late I can't it the timing to save my life and I don't know why I can't get this. I totally suck.
Turn off dynamic difficulty to start with so you see the same pitching. Also- there’s a batting practice you can utilize
Something that helped me was to keep my thumb at 90° on the left stick, so that the fingernail-point/tip of my thumb is pointing straight downwards. It makes it so that you're not aiming all crazy and you're more controlled.
Bro it's basically common sense if you have a high contact an low-power you swing with contact. If you have a hitter who has decent contact average power you use a normal. If the guy has high power an just mashes then use power. They make the three buttons for a reason.. I always approach it that way an it works for me .. Thanks an good vid

I'm hitting too many flyballs with 30 seconds of hangtime. How do I hit more *groundballs* that leave the infield? I like hitting home runs as much as the next guy, but getting runners on base, and bringing them home, is also satisfying.

@@RedMambaYT Interesting. I thought contact swings were pretty much just for advancing runners already on base. Then again, I just recently hit a *home run* with a contact swing, with a runner on base.
@@RedMambaYT I tried using contact swings. I put four men on base, scored three RBIs, then hit a two-run homer with a power swing. I think I may be starting to finally get the hang of this.
