I'm not sure if you know this, but the traditional way this is eaten in Germany, Austria and Switzerland is with the fritters being dusted with icing sugar, and served with the most gorgeous, sweet blackcurrant jam and a glass of champagne. Best eaten on a lazy, hazy afternoon. Also, if it were me, I would add one teaspoon of rose or orange water into the batter and slightly reduce the water content. Never miss out an opportunity to enrich the flavour is what I say!!!!

Wow, you have really set the scene there Ingrid. That sounds utterly divine! Best, Ella-May.

Thanks, man. Once I'm done distilling my bathtub St. Germain, I've been wondering what to do with all of my surplus elderflowers!

Happy to help! They are so delicious - we were eating them endlessly all afternoon here.

Is it ok to use electric whisk?
