Drowning yourself can be a super valid strategy no cap. You wouldn't believe the number of times I got stuck and just decided to yeet it under some foliage to come get my gear later, and surprisingly manged to find my bodies still there. Most of the time if they don't follow you they just think you got away or drowned, not that you'll be coming back in two minutes, saving on any pvp respawn timers too.
