I'm 65... I've owned 30,000 records and seen thousands of bands. Missed out on Brainiac but they are definitely on the top of my Rock List with Beefheart, Chrome, BH Surfers, Gun Club, Wire, Stolen Babies. Everything Rock should be... rebellious, weird, rhythmic, intelligent and ridiculous at the same time. Above all unique.
0:00 - Cultural Zero [cuts in] 1:57 - Draag 5:31 - Transmission After Zero 6:06 - Superdupersonic (Theme from Brainiac) 9:28 - Sexual Frustration 12:48 - Flypaper 15:24 - Hot Metal Doberman's 18:36 - Hands of the Genius 20:44 - Status: Choke 24:08 - I Could Own You [tuning = fucked] 26:44 - Velveteen Freak Scene [snippet/jam]
OH WHAT A DRAAAAAAAAAG first time that i saw this band, I was confused and blown away. I wondered how in the fuck 4 guys made such a ruckus.... I saw them as many times as i could through the years....I fell in love, and have been in love ever since....
awesome, awesome, awesome. thank you for posting this. a million times thank you. i wasnt cool enough at 6 years old to know about 3RA1N1AC. im just glad i know who they are now. it breaks my heart that this world was robbed of tim before i got the chance to see them play, but his legacy lives on through people like you who put this stuff out there. thanks
Goddamn this band just kicked SO much ass! Crazy thing: A friend of mine saw them in Lawrence, KS for his birthday in Feb. '97 and Tim Taylor signed my friend's poster, who's name also happened to be Tim, "Happy Birthday, Tim! Don't die".
Then someone else did this one. I missed this concert altogether (don't remember it at all) as I saw their first Atlanta gig at The Grooveyard in 1993 with a female guitarist. The show I videotaped was Braniac headlining and a non-local mediocre opening act. This was 1996 and at a venue that was short lived from 1996-1997.
@@deathmetaldouglas69 in that case it sounds like Ed filmed the MMH show. I'm guessing you filmed Brainiac at BLT's...? I saw them in NC in 97 prob on this same tour you filmed, so idk what venue they played in ATL. Not sure if you know but they recently made a full length Doc about the band that's been screening in different cities this year. Do you still have that (97) show you filmed or would you be able to make it available on RUclips? I bet a lot of fans would love that, myself included...
I am confused because I thought this was the one I did until now. I think you are right about the BLT's part but it's hard for me to imagine Ed doing that MMH one without me. He was way more just into the local scene. I did almost ALL the touring acts. He would do a few random touring groups if they had a gig with a local that he liked. He videoed a DC group called Cranium at Dotties who were killer just cause he was there for instance.
@@deathmetaldouglas69 it's all relative...it sounded like you said you didn't film this one, and instead filmed them at (presumably) BLT'S - I was just curious if you could theoretically upload this to RUclips
This is a pretty fucking epic show - I was only lucky enough to see them once (in Spring 96, supporting GVSB in Leeds, UK - it was awesome). Setlist for this video looks to be: Cultural Zero / Draag / Superdupersonic (Theme From Brainiac) / Sexual Frustration / Flypaper / Hot Metal Dobermans / Hands of the Genius / Status: Choke / I Could Own You

I LOVE 3RA1N1AC

@everymoss09
That song is called Super Duper Sonic - its on the 7inch split with Bratmobile I believe.
Yeah, I videotaped this. I don't think it was at The Midtown Music Hall though.
Hey Doug. Yea it was @ MMH, opening for Unwound

This band is incredible. Where the fuck have I been?
Given the date of this show, I would have been ten and in bed.
