I think that stock resonator is what gives the Mustang's 5.0 its sound. I've observed from various resonator deletes that when you X or H-pipe it, the engine just becomes loud and, at the higher revs, really raspy. The resonator keeps it sounding more muscle and grumbly all throughout the revs it seems. Really good food for thought when I get a used Mustang GT Premium next month. My main thoughts right now are either do an H-pipe and keep the back mufflers on, or keep the resonator and delete the back mufflers.
did you get your mustang? also, i did a res delete with an H pipe and it sounds damn good. theres so many things you can do to make the coyote sound so good. my goal for my exhaust setup is long tube headers, double h pipe and an axleback. theres a video on YT shorts of the exact setup i want and it sounds insane
@@novoice9286 I got a 2015 GT Premium that sat at 114,500 miles due to tight finances. Ended up getting it straight piped to small Flowmaster American Thunder axle backs, because the car came to the dealership with exhaust cut off after the cats, and the axle back chopped up. 11,500 miles later and I'm getting a stock resonator installed while retaining the American Thunder axle backs, it's too raspy at high RPMs, has a very loud cold start with which my neighbors are complaining about, and is very drone-y at highway speeds
I don't think the active is work $2000. Madness. I've had a few options on mine (2016), from H pipe with stock muffler, to bespoke boxes with H pipe and then a bullet muffler with the resonator back on. That droned a little so I straight piped from the resonator and it's now perfect. It remains deeper with the resonator and less drone than with the bullet mufflers bizarrely. Definitely a great sound!
Mines is a 2023 premium GT. I bought it 8 months ago with 6 miles on the dash. It came with active exhaust. I went and did the resonater delete while adding the h pipe because I wanted to be able to have the option to quiet start and lower the exhaust tone if I want to be more stealthy. Your car is bad ass though man and I love the way it sounds!
I have the same set up as yours! Nice! The only main issue is my ears started to hurt lol I just did mine yesterday. Did you had the same problem? I did an x-pipe resonator and muffler delete.
Try taking out the sound pipe that connects from your air intake to the cabin. Heard lots of people got rid of drone entirely in any exhaust setup with that change. I haven't done it personally, but I will when I buy a Mustang soon
I mean come on who doesn’t want to hear the sound of a N/A V8 engine. With all this electrified nonsense going on. It’s pushed me to Keep my 2015 Accord Coupe 6-6 manual and now I finally am going to grab 2022 Mustang GT ! Listen to that and their perfect especially for the price. Just a solid American Muscle Car that’s affordable and a blast to tear it up in. I am sure you’ve still got that bad boy. Looks and sounds beauty.
i had a muffler and resonator delete with an x pipe and it was obnoxious. had to put everything back on for inspection. sounded like you said you had a similar setup. would you go just the muffler delete or both. i’m worried it won’t be loud enough🤔
No that’s the one option this car didn’t come with, I didn’t pick it when I was specking it out because I knew I was gonna change the exhaust anyway and it was an extra $2k
@@Smurf5.0hany drone with the x pipe resonator & muffler delete? Currently just have a muffler delete on mine and wondering if i delete the resonator if the drone would be unbearable

THIS IS THE COYOTE SOUND I WANT!! Thank you for the video.

I know with my 22 gt, Launch control will limit your standstill RPMs if it’s on. I would check that.
You can increase it. I have a '22 as well.
Nice bro‼️🔥🔥🔥 I got a 2020 California special on MLK weekend. I got the pypes muffler delete. I love this car‼️😂😂

none of that affects smog
