    Very good information.
Im a safety consultant for construction and warehouse and you never stop learning. The more you read the more you learn. In the construction/warehouse or any industry they think you are their enemy in every way, not knowing until you start teaching them that the reason you are there is to make sure they go home in one piece and alive to enjoy their family. I enjoy safety more when you have control to discipline in every way.

It's nicely put together. I noticed two things while watching it. One is the part where a worker is shown operating a buzzsaw, and he's wearing gloves. That should be prohibited, due to the fact, that if that glove gets caught by the sawblade, the employee will not be able to pull away and it will probably cause very serious damage. The other is that there is no mention of the right of way at the construction site, which should be clarified for everyone before entering the area. Preferably it should look like this: 1. Cranes 2. Forklifts or other load-carrying vehicles 3. All other types of vehicles 4. Pedestrians.

Sorry to tell you kid... construction is were the money goes... or also were it comes from or why it exists in the first place... I don't like it either... but I know that thanks to it there are schools, hospitals, malls and everything that raise property value and living conditions as well as telecommunications networks and power grids and water pressure and treatment... the next step is industrial government and space... I thought construction was small when I was 14... it realy isn't and its the reason other get to have an office to work out of... and the reason I make as much as I want or just take a 2 year vacation... don't like it but it realy does pay well... and the spare cash does wonders when you know the grid and projects to invest in stocks... you made the inferstructure and you know the volumes its designed for as well as the cost of buisness... you can't lose... sooner or later... you're right and even though it takes longer than expected... you have everything you were expecting... most jobs hit dead ends... projects move the world and you get to have a pice... I was a med student... unable to do that I became a web page designer... but with realestate I made 40,000 in one sale on my first try... it took a hole year but... easy enough I only had that one, next I remodeled one and made 15,000 in 4 months... I built 3 houses with my uncle and turned 35,000 single house into 115,000... thats is the top 10 worst countries in the world from sub poverty... construction makes you ritch in any and all countries... it gave me an import company, and a trip to Europe Amsterdam Paris Shanghai China and ghuangzhou chine for the world fair and Brazil... giving were I was that was my flight path... from Bolivia... don't get me wrong it is literally hell... but the pay depends on you and how much is thanks to you...

I’m 30 now and vividly remember being your age after going through Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans at 12. I never wanted to work in construction either, But I needed some cash at 18 and the jobs weren’t hiring as quickly cause I had no experience looking for my first job. Ended up with a staffing agency that sent me to work the same day and pay onto a debit card daily after work. I was doing construction & demolition for $7.25 / $50 per day minus taxes. Unless you have a nice inheritance, this is where the money is at! Got to work your way up!

Such a young age. You will find that there are a lot of companies more powerful than OSHA. I have been in large industrial construction for over 35 years and I've seen and survived a lot. Pay attention to the older workers. They didn't survive by being stupid. Sad to say but OSHA can talk the talk but most have never had a tool in their hand. They are mostly made op of book educated idiots that are to lazy to make a living with their brain and physical efforts.

I left a project yesterday that talks the talk but in reality they are opposite....Ladder's, cleanup, guardrails to name a few. They just don't listen or comply. When I got insistent yesterday, I got let go. Some of this work was done over 9 months ago when I was last there in a different capacity and multiple people, groups or agencies would have walked by it and done nothing. So I point these issues out and told to deal with it but have no resources. Tools or workers. The project was nicknamed ' The Final Destination'.

One should note that too many decals can hide hard hat defects. For concrete/cement I believe the standard is a Nitrile glove. At tool box talks make sure any concerns are "written down" so no one can deny they were brought up. At the next tool box talk people need to be notified about how any concerns that were brought up, at the previous talk were addressed. For guardrails there is a performance factor that applies to the rail and post.
Note that for fall arrest systems there is an inspection tag, for each piece (harnesses, lanyards). They need to be inspected "before each use" and per the tag instructions. Make sure the date of the tag inspection is written in indelible ink.

Throughout my life, I have had several experiences that have prepared me for the degree program of my choice, which is a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety. My journey with safety began at the age of 16 when I started working for a construction company, MLN Company, as a laborer. This job exposed me to the importance of safety in the workplace and instilled in me the importance of following safety protocols.
Since then, I have strived to work only in jobs that have a heavy emphasis on safety. When I worked at a pool store as a chemical pool expert, I learned about chemical safety and how to handle hazardous materials safely. I have also worked as a safety professional for the past four years in logistics safety and documentation and general industry safety. These experiences have opened my eyes to the many realms of safety and have shown me that safety is a critical component of all industries.
I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety because I believe that this degree is just the beginning of the career I strive to achieve. The degree program will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a difference in the field of safety. I want to be able to work with businesses and individuals to promote safe practices and ensure that accidents are prevented.
Safety saves lives in all industries. Taking an OSHA 30 course and spending 30 hours of my time doing nothing but safety was a major improvement on my mindset for how I want to develop myself and how I strive to achieve greatness in the field of safety. I learned how to identify hazards and how to create a safe work environment for myself and others. I also learned about the importance of communication and collaboration in promoting safety.
In conclusion, my experiences in the workforce have prepared me for the Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety that I am pursuing. My experience with safety since I was 16 has instilled in me the importance of following safety protocols, and my work experience in various industries has provided me with a well-rounded understanding of the importance of safety in all industries. Pursuing this degree will equip me with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a difference in the field of safety and to promote safe practices in the workplace.

The safety field is one of the most critical areas of concern in modern society. With the increasing pace of industrialization and the growth of the construction sector, safety has become a top priority for businesses and individuals alike. However, despite the importance of safety in our daily lives, there are still many issues that need to be addressed in the field.
One of the most significant problems in the safety field today is the lack of passionate and determined individuals who are willing to make a difference. The safety field requires professionals who are committed to ensuring that people are safe, and their lives are not put at risk due to the negligence of others. Unfortunately, many people do not see the importance of safety and do not pursue careers in the field.
Another important issue in the safety field is the lack of representation of individuals who have experienced the benefits of safe practices. Many people do not understand the significance of safety in our daily lives. They have not seen how safe practices can save lives and prevent accidents. This lack of representation results in a lack of awareness and understanding of the importance of safety.
For me, the significance of safety cannot be overstated. I have witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of accidents and the importance of safe practices. I have been a part of several OSHA recordable cases, and I have witnessed a death on a job site. These experiences have taught me the importance of safety and have motivated me to pursue a career in the field.
I believe that pursuing a bachelor's degree in safety will help me achieve my goals and requirements to make a change in the safety field. With this degree, I will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to make a difference in the field. I will be able to work with businesses and individuals to promote safe practices and ensure that accidents are prevented.
In conclusion, the safety field is critical to our daily lives, and there are many issues that need to be addressed. The lack of passionate and determined individuals and representation of individuals who have experienced the benefits of safe practices are some of the most important issues. I have witnessed firsthand the importance of safety, and I am determined to make a difference in the field. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in safety will help me achieve my goals and requirements to prevent accidents and save lives.

  • @cliffjohnson5301

The video was put together very well. But there are some issues. A dust mask is not a respirator. Dust masks are not NIOSH* approved disposable filtering facepieces. They can be worn for comfort against non-toxic nuisance dusts during activities like mowing, gardening, sweeping and dusting. These masks are not respirators and do not offer protection against hazardous dusts, gases or vapors. Your anchor point for tie off is a little misleading. 1910.140(c)(4)
Lanyards and vertical lifelines must have a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 pounds (22.2 kN).
    1910.140(c)(5)
Self-retracting lifelines and lanyards that automatically limit free fall distance to 2 feet (0.61 m) or less must have components capable of sustaining a minimum tensile load of 3,000 pounds (13.3 kN) applied to the device with the lifeline or lanyard in the fully extended position.
    1910.140(c)(6)
A competent person or qualified person must inspect each knot in a lanyard or vertical lifeline to ensure that it meets the requirements of paragraphs (c)(4) and (5) of this section before any employee uses the lanyard or lifeline.
    1910.140(c)(7)
D-rings, snaphooks, and carabiners must be capable of sustaining a minimum tensile load of 5,000 pounds (22.2 kN).
    1910.140(c)(8)
D-rings, snaphooks, and carabiners must be proof tested to a minimum tensile load of 3,600 pounds (16 kN) without cracking, breaking, or incurring permanent deformation. The gate strength of snaphooks and carabiners must be capable of withstanding a minimum load of 3,600 pounds (16 kN) without the gate separating from the nose of the snaphook or carabiner body by more than 0.125 inches (3.175 mm). Clean up. It is not your job to clean up other trades trash. If your a plumber you for the most part do not know what is trash and what is still being used. Report the issue to your foreman ans he will address the issue.

Climbing forms is an American thing. All major formwork systems come from Germany and Europe. Nobody climbs forms there. There's scaffolding with handrail and toebord hung in the same holes we poor guys hook up to. Every 6 feet. No Form is complete without the scaffolding! It's modular! It's available!
