    Used to be a lot of drug foot traffic going through my alley and the empty lots across the street. I went over there and cleaned those lots, and cleaned the alley when we moved here, and have kept it clean all year. Happy to report the drug traffic is no more. The littering has slowed way down as well. Something to be said for keeping your entire area clean, and free of litter. There's nowhere for them to hide now because I trimmed all the trees and the sucker branches... now there's just a nice green clean shaded area to enjoy all the wildlife around here!

    I love the function of being able to lift the deck of the ventrac. I’m sure that comes in handy.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  Год назад +2

      It does! I think I managed to bend one of the arms and it doesn't lift as high as it should, but it really helps when backing up over stumps I just cut.

    Brad,
    The Ventrac does pretty well, in most situations. This, almost, was calling for a skid loader or excavator with a forestry mulcher. Keep the content coming. I watch most of them.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  Год назад +6

      I definitely agree with you. In our first meeting that was discussed as a likely requirement, but letting the Ventrac go first let a low ground pressure vehicle get most of it cleared, then give a better picture for what was left and less work for more destructive machines!

    • @williamgurtner4759

      I was thinking the same thing in regards to the forestry mulcher. Ventrac makes a great product and I was impressed with what Brad was able to get done with it. I use to do this type of thing with a string trimmer and sheers when I owned similar property. ALL day event to make little progress.

    I'm surprised the Ventrac struggled a little bit with those saw palmettos. Nice work. I just did the same type of job for a commercial property that was having an issue with 'campers'. I could have used that out front deck to hang over the creek bank.
    How often do you use that machine? I'm not sure if you bought it or have a deal with ventrac for having it in your channel but, would you say that the machine is not just paying for itself but making you money?

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  Год назад +1

      I'm not surprised. It is rated for 2" and can do more but the saw palmettos are an extremely tough and fibrous thing to cut through, and are all clumped together in a big cluster. I was on the other end and impressed with how it handled it compared against what it is rated for.

    • @Hillsidelanscapemanagement
      @Hillsidelanscapemanagement Год назад

      @@CopperCreekCutsI remember well palmettos from my twenty plus years in Florida. Too clarify, I was strictly speaking of that first cluster that almost stalled the machine. They didn't look too be that large of a cluster but that was probably just due to my watching your video on my phone. The camera never quite catches things as they are. It seemed to do better with the palmettos later in the video
      Any thoughts on my question? I'm seriously interested in whether or not that machine can pay for itself. The deck alone for that is $5k+. I'm not knocking the Ventrac at all, it's an amazing machine with a versatility that is unmatched (including Steiner). I just cannot determine if it's worth my pulling the trigger on one of them
