Hi, Jeremy, I just uploaded it from the original tapes, RUclips just got better at processing video in 11 years. The entire thing, the entire stonework video, is in my recent videos now. I think it is pretty valuable.

Hi, Jacob, are you replacing the cap or just fixing the cracks? Sometimes cracks are deep, but sometimes, if you use a little trowel, a sponge, cement and fine sand, you can make a putty that fills the cracks and goes down inside. A little lime in the mix can help too, because lime can penetrate further and sets slower. You have to clean out the cracks well first. Then sponge wipe the top to clean it. (You need to wipe it off a few times to take off stains.

Hi George, if its a straight cap, there is another way of doing it that is easier. Just 2 straight stiff 1 by 4's at either side, have them 6ft or 8 ft long. screw then together side by side with two 1 by twos, about a ft or 2 ft and from the ends. Make the distance between the 1 by 4's a bit wider than the full cap width. prop up the 1 by 4's about 3/4 inch (on wet capping mix) and use a level to get them level. Then fill the middle with wet(not runny) coarse sand mortar, level off the top and push down the mortar beside the 1 by 4's well. give it a few minutes, tap the ends of the boards with a hammer, jiggle it a little, and lift it on to the next section, within about half an hour the sides are ready for edging. You get nice straight parallel edges (especially in summer). I might even have a video about it, (I don't watch my videos so not sure).
