I loved the way they said, "And then there was the war with Denmark." It was fantastically out of left field, said in such a deliciously matter of fact way.
THE GREATEST thing to come out of time trumpet, this is in my top 10 favourite clips of all time. Whoever thought of this was a sheer genius, its so funny I have no need to make a joke in this comment.
Nice to see both Tesco stores in Carlisle being highlighted in this video. I never trusted those pesky stores. Who knew that that would be where it all began?
The funny part is that there´s no british supermarkeds in Denmark, but the danish supermarkedbrand NETTO has 175 stores in the UK...and more to come :)
...that means, that business and other companies, are not run by the government, but by regular people, so that different companies and business have competition between each other and that means that you want to do something with your life, pupils are often more concentrated.
OMFG this was just so brilliant! it made me laugh from the very frist second! xD Im a dane, and i have an english friend that work at Tescos.. It was amazing! the helicopters coming in over CPH dropping down tesco-tranformers! Tripods crushing The Little Mermaid lol :D (sad for her, but f'cking brillliant made! And then ofc the total disaster in the end.. after the 5 hour long war of Tesco VS the Vikings. LOL I think im gonna watch it again! xD wee!
Apparently Denmark is the happiest country in the world. It surprised me then to see the top two comments slagging it off! Norway I think comes after in terms of happiness. I want to go to Norway!
the danske supermarket *fotex, netto, bilka, salling) is not owned by normal people either. It is owned by maerske who also happen to be the largest shareholders in the Danske Bank. I'm not sure if you misunderstood my first post saying I think Tesco coming Denmark would be a good thing
this is actually happeneing right now. theres a turf war with the big 4. there was a BBC panorma about it. a new tesco extra is opening across the road from my work which is unnessecary.
actually tesco coming to denmark might not be such a bad thing. the danske supermarket owns the 3 biggest players and it might inject some competition into the market. i am kinda fed up with looking through the reklamer every week to see whether coke is 25 dkk or 9 for example. bilka, netto and fotex run a monopoly and it is not good for the people. I'm english and have lived in denmark for 4 years, so i have a reasonable idea.
Well, I myself think its great, that theres some competition between the supermarkets, its all just business. Also, its great that the prices on fast food and other fat foods, are high, so more people would buy healthy food, plus the prices on vegetables is low. We are also more about liberalism than socialism, but mainly we are in for social-liberalism...
The users who made the two top rated comments are clearly clones of the same person.... probably voted themselves up! Denmark is AMAZING!!!! Copenhagen is a really laid-back and fun place to be! Like this if you agree ♥
didn't mean I thought it was crap then, that was meant to be a response to someone saying it reminded them of the plot from half life 2... sort it out youtube
dont got me wrong,i dont hate Denmark,i actually pretty much love it but nowadays totally changed a lot.i know cause im spending my second year here.during two years i noticed two things, first:the fact that Denmark is kinda "sinking" is because of the too much foreigner.Denmark not able to take that many people.the other, because of the "strangers" danish people is getting closed.when i`m arrived everyone were really friendly.maybe this is the third problem. Denmark is too tolerant.
Not to rain on your parade, but if you look at the danish international history, the proudly states that Denmark has been founded on year of wars where we lost them all and most of our land has been given to other nations.
I love this video! It seems some people can't take a joke tho! haha. And why is everyone going on about Netto!!! Make a Netto version invading the UK (but make it funny) then we're even :P
In what world is "ko-bem-hah-oon" correct? Technically it's probably alright to pronounce it in the German way as in this video, but all the Copenhageners I know prefer the not-German version. Of course, the native pronounciation would be even better.
This is a common feature of British English, adding a possessive clitic to the names of businesses with retail premises. You could understand it as meaning something like "the shop belonging to the business called Tesco" or a rough equivalent of French "chez Tesco".
I had the misfortune of going to a Tesco near Watford the other day and it was more like an airport than a shop: soulless, full of zombies who've watched too much ITV, and shitty products that nobody really needs. The car park was big enough to see from space, and must've covered enough green space to endanger several species. Strangely, the staff were friendlier than the other customers. I hate Tesco.
(cont) Tesco employed 250,000 peopel as well and is THE MOST GREEN of the big supermarkets. cut the compnay some slack - after all thank them for your cheaper food prices - because you don't think Asda has cut prices because it wants to do you???? Best of luck Tesco - keep delivering the goods!!!
It was really funny how the mildly bald prince harry commented on the tesco's invasion "I quite like the danes, couple of my occasional f*ck are danes" lol
i actually think he pronounces it with a british accent.. u know... with the british "a" and not the flat american "a" (aeeey). But ur right.. it does sound like german.
@catatonicable they say the Devil has the best music. we can now see why - he buys it cheaply from Tesco stores and downloads it cheaper from Tesco online.... (actually, i don't know if you can download music from tescos but its only a matter of months untill...)
I loved the way they said, "And then there was the war with Denmark." It was fantastically out of left field, said in such a deliciously matter of fact way.
there slogon changed from "every little helps" to "we control every aspect of your life" lmao great vid

The store deployment at 1:18 is very C&C-esque.
It was a good day when the final Tesco store was demolished and the flag of Aldi was planted on top of the rubble.
Excuse me
Lidl all the way!
Every L
idl helps!
Command and Conquer 5, Tiberium Tesco
Genius 'War of the Worlds' references mixed with the trademark surrealist yet charmingly vicious satire of Armando Iannucci? Yes please!
I took a little time out of my tough pillaging schedule to watch this. It is very accurate.
This was apparently created by Gareth Edwards, the director of Star Wars Rogue One back in his animator days
I feel like they missed a great joke about Tesco seizing Denmark for use as a staging ground in the inevitable battle for dominance against IKEA.
I'm from Denmark, and that was brilliant! :o)
i laughed my head off when i saw this!!! this is pure genius!!!
Our day will come
Tesco Value Milk nice name :P
You bastards!!! 😂
Tesco Value Milk
Tim Farron likes this
Oh yes, I am loving Iannucci's return to BBC here. Now we just need to see how the Tesco vs. Wal*Mart war would go.
The funny part is that there´s no british supermarkeds in Denmark, but the danish supermarkedbrand NETTO has 175 stores in the UK...and more to come :)
The sad thing is I was in Tokyo earlier this year and a Tesco's opened up over the road!!
Funny thing is, there WAS a time that Tesco was EVERYWHERE. It was the David Tennant of supermarkets
This is really funny. They could make an entire series about Tescos and I would watch it.
that was for you Billy. God bless.
...that means, that business and other companies, are not run by the government, but by regular people, so that different companies and business have competition between each other and that means that you want to do something with your life, pupils are often more concentrated.
This is masterly! Very funny: keep 'em coming.
So good, so well made!
OMFG this was just so brilliant! it made me laugh from the very frist second! xD

The bit about the Tesco slogan is the best bit.
I don't think Doctor who has had a tripod invasion yet, but it would make a good episode.
the danske supermarket *fotex, netto, bilka, salling) is not owned by normal people either. It is owned by maerske who also happen to be the largest shareholders in the Danske Bank.

What about Rema 1000 and Kvickly?
I love how he pronounces Copenhagen in german :P
i had no idea this was going on i really have to start paying more attention to the news
@ROBLOXingHabbo The tesco branch built onto the side of the cliff didn't stand out to you as a bit odd?
this is actually happeneing right now. theres a turf war with the big 4. there was a BBC panorma about it. a new tesco extra is opening across the road from my work which is unnessecary.
I reckon you're absolutely right there.
Its taken from 'Time Trumpet'
That's interesting. Building on land tends to raise the water table...
Great work - very impressive - and with "a bit" of War of the Worlds" ;-)
Greetings from a Dane.
And no, we don't have any Tesco's here .... yet LOL
It's slightly warmer and a lot damper in England and Wales for a start and Scotland would just be a lot damper.
so glad i'm not the only person to think that when I watched it
This is so bloody well made! HAHAHA! I have nothing to add except for more HAHAHA's!
Only Amazon took over from Tesco. And Lidl and Aldi stores became the most popular supermarkets.
@DJEdSaunders Even if it is very cold but at least it's doesn't rain as much.
Hehehehe! I love the Tesco on the side of a cliff. Oh that whole show is hilarious
Hahaha love it. I work at Tesco too. Oh the shame.
@SystemFailure404 i think you misunderstand, the danske supemarket is not owned by the governmentnt but maerske
Apparently Tesco has been waging an economic war against Greece as well. Poor Greece never stood a chance.
Sheer bloody genius!
is that tescos setting up a wink to command and conquer?
okey dont know any of them, but its like a big mall right?
actually tesco coming to denmark might not be such a bad thing. the danske supermarket owns the 3 biggest players and it might inject some competition into the market. i am kinda fed up with looking through the reklamer every week to see whether coke is 25 dkk or 9 for example. bilka, netto and fotex run a monopoly and it is not good for the people.
I'm english and have lived in denmark for 4 years, so i have a reasonable idea.
Now we're being invaded by Lidl
It could be a personal thing - from your team leaders etc. Just a thought.
i live in Denmark and i find it very amusing and good nice 1 :D
there is tesco in the states its called fresh and easy
And so it will go on...and on...until the WHOLE WORLD IS OURS!!!
Tesco, Tesco, uber alles...
@bangladesh461: Try travelling a bit, our systems are still very close to the best.
Funny about Mark Watson's comment, because Tesco ARE making a film now...!
Hey, I WISH we had Tesco in the states. All we have is a dumpy Wal-Mart chain. They smell funny, and the workers are typically underpaid.
Well, I myself think its great, that theres some competition between the supermarkets, its all just business. Also, its great that the prices on fast food and other fat foods, are high, so more people would buy healthy food, plus the prices on vegetables is low. It's a big chain of supermarkets.
2013 June 21st which is actually Prince Williams Birthday
People who are unhappy with Denmark should go to other countries for some time, live there, and then come back and tell us what they think.
It is so annoying having to leave my axe at the door when i go to shop, but there isnt really anything we can do, Tesco just has superoir technology
The users who made the two top rated comments are clearly clones of the same person.... probably voted themselves up!
Denmark is AMAZING!!!! Copenhagen is a really laid-back and fun place to be! Like this if you agree ♥
@timboslayer It's much worse in ASDA and the products are of lower quality as well.
Lawls XD Why wasn't I in Copenhagen when that happened?
awesome!
didn't mean I thought it was crap then, that was meant to be a response to someone saying it reminded them of the plot from half life 2... sort it out youtube
This all seems a strangely accurate prediction!
Denmark will fight and we will win again, just like we won all those other wars that people say we lost.
Well.... In the schools, we learn "Tescoish", which is now our main language.
;D
haha thats so funny! Greeting from denmark :D
Watched this is in Geography...funny stuff..Love Mark Watson.
is that a movie?
The scary thing is, you know it'll happen.
What is this? I don't really understand. Can someone explain?
dont got me wrong,i dont hate Denmark,i actually pretty much love it but nowadays totally changed a lot.i know cause im spending my second year here.during two years i noticed two things, first:the fact that Denmark is kinda "sinking" is because of the too much foreigner.Denmark not able to take that many people.the other, because of the "strangers" danish people is getting closed.when i`m arrived everyone were really friendly.maybe this is the third problem. oh ya am a big fan of c&c
Now were even 8th versus 13th.
Not to rain on your parade, but if you look at the danish international history, the proudly states that Denmark has been founded on year of wars where we lost them all and most of our land has been given to other nations.
loved the line, 1st retail country.. so true]
@itsTempleofSound well less of a wink and more of a blatant reskin of the animation! WIN
I love this video!
It seems some people can't take a joke tho! haha.
And why is everyone going on about Netto!!!

Of course, the native pronounciation would be even better.
Lol :D thats awesome :) im danish and i really enjoyed it :)
Why does the voiceover keep saying "Tesco's"? It's just "Tesco".
It's ASDA's
This is a common feature of British English, adding a possessive clitic to the names of businesses with retail premises. You could understand it as meaning something like "the shop belonging to the business called Tesco" or a rough equivalent of French "chez Tesco".
ROFLMAO - good one!
Thanks for the warning - We shall fight them on the beaches, on the sea and in the air ;-)
( Dane here )
actually, the war lasted 5 hours and 20 minutes, before the viking warriors drove them back into the sea. :D
@ShowPolitics How dare you make that assumption about me. I did visit an ASDA store a few months ago.
I had the misfortune of going to a Tesco near Watford the other day and it was more like an airport than a shop: soulless, full of zombies who've watched too much ITV, and shitty products that nobody really needs. The car park was big enough to see from space, and must've covered enough green space to endanger several species.

Surely Asda has the most green out of all the major supermarkets??
It was really funny how the mildly bald prince harry commented on the tesco's invasion
"I quite like the danes, couple of my occasional f*ck are danes" lol
2019 Tesco closes stores
No, we say Copenhaygen normally.
i actually think he pronounces it with a british accent.. u know... with the british "a" and not the flat american "a" (aeeey). But ur right.. it does sound like german.
Myabe the sentance didn't make complete sense, but you got the message and look you made a grammatical error!
I'm Danish and I've never even heard about Tesco, hmm.. :S
@catatonicable they say the Devil has the best music. we can now see why - he buys it cheaply from Tesco stores and downloads it cheaper from Tesco online....
(actually, i don't know if you can download music from tescos but its only a matter of months untill...)
hahaha, I couldn't move for laughing for like 5 minutes after watching this on the telly
I guess the Doctor doesn't care about Denmark?
@lemsip Clearly you have not visited your local ASDA store...
