I accidentally found this play on my local PBS channel over 20 years ago. I was entranced with the acting and the music and the story. Since then I have purchased the original Broadway recording, and the CD and the DVD of the Murphy/She's/Mazzi version. I love it, and these interviews really fleshed out my understanding of the characters. If you can get past the dubbing issues and the horrendous closed captioning of this interview, it is well worth the time to watch it.

Hearing the subtext of especially Marin's Clara helped me have more understanding of the show. I've never felt that as an entire piece it works all that well. I've always had trouble believing the ending.
