The fact that the public has to remain calm while police officers violate our rights is truly terrifying. When our rights are being violated we should be mad as hell and fight like hell - and those we charge with defending those rights should instantly be held accountable for violating them. I really can't understand the whole concept of a tax funded entity (i.e the police) having PRIVATE property. I do understand they must have restricted areas, but the whole grounds private? That is rediculous.
That female cop saying you can't just walk in her private garden is wrong. You can, even though it might be trespassing to go into her private garden, it's a civil matter, and the police wont get involved unless it becomes aggravated trespass. So if the police yard was private, even though it isn't, at worst it'd be a civil matter.

He may be right or not, but the easiest way to keep the public out of sensitive areas is with clearly marked signs and some kind of barrier. No need to look like Colditz castle. I think once you are asked to leave regardless of implied right of access you must comply. Otherwise you risk being trespassed. You can research and challenge the decision/action another time. I glad of all the auditors are testing the system of our society. 👍

Sign next to pavement says Badge Holders Only. So there is no implied right of access: there's a very clear denial of access. End of. The sergeant only told you what the others told you - it's private. Once you know that (even if you missed the sign on the gate and barrier), it is clear you have no right of access. Our taxes pay for lots of things but we don't have a right (implied or otherwise) to access them: forces bases, prisons, schools, Houses of Parliament, government offices. I pay for electricity but I have no right to enter a power station or the company's offices. Even if I own a property, when I lease it to tenants, I have to give notice to access it because it's private to them. Private means private, regardless of who pays for it or who it belongs to.

There's no such thing as "police private property". Police property is an asset of the County Council which is owned by the ratepayers. There is an implied right of access to ALL public property unless prohibited by sign, gate, door or other barrier which revokes that right or a bylaw which may limit or qualify public access

‘’The police” as an organisation is wholly owned and funded by the local authority . Unless there’s a limited company owning the land that they rent it from. I suspect not.

The sergeant only told you what the others told you - it's private. Once you know that (even if you missed the sign on the gate and barrier), it is clear you have no right of access.
Our taxes pay for lots of things but we don't have a right (implied or otherwise) to access them: forces bases, prisons, schools, Houses of Parliament, government offices. I pay for electricity but I have no right to enter a power station or the company's offices. Even if I own a property, when I lease it to tenants, I have to give notice to access it because it's private to them. Private means private, regardless of who pays for it or who it belongs to.

There's no such thing as "police private property". Police property is an asset of the County Council which is owned by the ratepayers. There is an implied right of access to ALL public property unless prohibited by sign, gate, door or other barrier which revokes that right or a bylaw which may limit or qualify public access
