you're so right about the agent stories. Harumasa's agent story brought him out of uninteresting for me and made him one of my favorite characters in the ENTIRE game and he's FREE
Idk why people don’t watch this. The graphics are stunning. The action is beautiful. The characters are hot. I don’t get it at all. Maybe it’s one of those games you just have to play and not watch to get how good it is. I thought I liked HSR because I love persona. However, recently I have become absolutely obsessed with ZZZ. The game is not too hard, but it is still somehow extremely enjoyable. I actually even like the TV stuff they had/still have a little of.
Zenless is amazing because it's clear how passionate the devs are. They listen to feedback and the amount of effort they put into the game like the animations, models, and QOL is crazy.
I really don't like ZZZ, especially at launch w/ the TV thing inclunded. However in the last update, I can really tell that the devs overhauled the game completely and its entirely a new game now. I also commend the devs because they sacrificed their vision of game which is the TV mode for the players. That's some crazy stuff they did for their players. Now, I can comfortably play the game now after I drop it since launch.
I play the game since day one and i enjoyed it and every changes (i loved the tv and i'm glad they did not totally remove it) I hope more people will appreciate this game with this update!
i uninstalled day 1. I did not enjoy it. 1.4 live stream has brought me back. I did not like the initial release characters from 1.0 and 1.1. Miyabi is really freakin cool. The QoL changes has made me more receptive to playing this game again. Thanks for the W video Connor!
I play 2 kuro games and 3 hoyo games (and some other gachas cuz fml) and I always think the fandom war is dumb 😂 Playing both WuWa and ZZZ and enjoying the improvements in both games since release feels good.
True. Zenless dont get a fair judgment. Ppl and especially content creators use bad metric to judge a game because only money interest them so, numbers are more important for them. Compare to genshin and hsr zenless do "bad" revenue (lot still millions), often the half but its because the targeted player is not the same, he is more niche, very more niche than genshin or hsr. I don't understand the criticisms of the combat system, if you like action combat you have no problems with this one or just dont like the balance and just go away. And like in all gacha, the "final form" of the gameplay is not in 1.0. Look now, its really different. Certain ppl complain about how "qte spammy" is the game but at that time enemies was easy to stun and there wasn't any disorder teams. If you are bored of chain mechanics go for anomaly where stun is way longer. Ppl complain about how anomaly is slow dps, no constant big numbers ... its so ridiculous. Anomaly is the most complex (and interesting to me) gameplay in the game. Standard dps team is : take the time to stun, switch to the dps and burst. Anomaly you need to manage characters mechanics along the way of filling anomaly gauges to trigger anomaly right in time to maximize disorder. But casuals rule the world ? Don't want to involve in complex things and want direct easy pleasure ? don't know... It feel again like the usual situation, high expectation lead to high disappointment. Gacha teasers aside (all characters in gacha love the MC, its so cringe), I feel the same about Rover, even if he had the aura of a hero (and a superior being) much more than the traveler.
Two patch cycles later: HP inflation is a problem and we need to talk about it. I'm not going to shit on people for liking something. You like what you like and I genuinely hope you will continue to like it. But if HSR is any indication then the devs may very well pull a bait and switch. The HSR devs started out as "the good guys" only to become just as bad (perhaps even worse) than the "bad guys" of Genshin Impact. Hoyoverse seems to equate difficulty to bigger HP bars. So be prepared for that. HSR was a fata morgana. An illusion. The pretense of good will.
Good point. When HSR got released, I was thrilled and engaged. I liked everything about it, from dialogues to combat and content. Almost 2 years later, and now I won't put it even in my top 3 gachas. Story became worse, even if we don't count storytelling. Powercreep invalidated many great characters, and resulted in endgame becoming obnoxious to do. Even recent SU expansion, which I always loved, was an example of how not to do rogue likes. ZZZ devs show that they're better, and more receptive. I mean, people complained about model censorship, and they fixed it, and gave out a 10 pull. But, it also shows concerning things, like powercreep being absurd already. And it's an action game, so it doesn't even have the "it's a turn based" excuse.
@@alreadyd1d I'm exactly the same when it comes to HSR. I loved it in the beginning. I even tolerated the objectively worse Luofu arc because the Devs put out a statement admitting to the flaws in their writing. Everything seemed to go well and the Devs appeared to be listening. But the story continued to get worse and worse with every new patch. Then the power creep set in and it immediately began skyrocketing the power ceiling into the stratosphere, invalidating nearly the entire 1.X character roster in a single patch. And if the 3.0 beta leaks are any indication they are going to double down on that even harder. I genuinely hope for all the ZZZ enjoyers that things will be different this time around. But now they even upped the power creep in Genshin Impact after years of carefully maintained stability. At this point my pattern recognition alarm is screaming hell and high water. So while I wish you the best, I also recommend you to buckle up and prepare the life boats. I'm about to drop HSR as well and already found a replacement in Reverse 1999 to scratch my turn-based gacha itch. If patch 3.0 does not turn things around for the better I will hop into my life boat and sail towards brighter shores and greener pastures.
everything u wrote hear is BS. HP never was a thing in HSR and u calling it difficulty just mean u are shitty at playing the game. u should have choosen something else and not what is less used in a turn based game jack-ass.
I see where you are coming from and it’s something good to keep an eye out for. Until that switch happens or HP bloat becomes and issues I still want to highlight what is positive about the game. But if the day comes where the laziness creeps in and it becomes HP sponge hell I’ll be right there calling it out.
That is a great argument, and only time will tell if it becomes true. One thing I heard is that ZZZs development team seems to be far younger than their other dev teams and seemingly more willing to do sweeping changes, for HSR I remember hearing that people that worked on Honkai Impact 3rd moved to work on it around the time of Penacony. So far ZZZ seems willing to provide endgame content that deviates from the basic formula of "kill everything withing X time" in favor of other challenges, which is good, but at the same time the powercreep with Miyabi is quite obvious, so we'll see.
The fact that this game still has a reputation of "yapping" and has a boring story in the gacha community is perfect proof that you shouldnt trust the gacha community with anything, they'd harp about wanting good storytelling for months but when it's right in front of them they just ignore it. These guys just don't like reading story. And this henceforth affected a ton of things in the game, with the regard to all the early reviews, and most importantly the reception of the TV mode. The reason a lot of people "didn't mind" the TV mode is that it was a device almost solely there to tell story, to put you in things that they wouldn't be able to portray in normal gameplay, like leading civilians while avoiding trains, doing detective work, avoiding ghosts etc and for those who appreciated the story it was fine. But if you don't care about the story then of course the mode would lose all its charm. This is also why Appergio sucked, it's because most of it didn't have any story to go along with it (the entire plot of the event is like a paragraph long), which goes against the purpose of the mode to begin with. Making Appergio is a sign that the devs don't really get the TV Mode themselves and would rather push it out of the way to pursue a safer story telling approach aka walking simulator with pressing switches. This disappointed me a lot and I wonder if many people feel the same (I doubt so considering how well the update to exploration has been received). You said in the video that this struck you as negative at first, to me honestly it is still negative if you look at the bigger picture. I sincerely hope we get another one of something cool like "The Prophecy" or "Detective Rewind" with the TV-less mode to prove that the game can still deliver that charm.
5:00 Well, after playing 1.4 I think the main story may be heading in the direction of wise and belle becoming the saviours of the world xD. Also you forgot to mention that they removed weekly boss restrictions and weekly bosses are farmable! You don't have to sit there waiting weeks because you forgot to prefarm the weekly materials for your new character. Anyway, I agree with the video specially the part about the storytelling, and I find myself enjoying ZZZ quite a lot despite being quite critical of it at the beginning (criticism that that I still think was justified). Now that they have removed the TVs from the start of the game I can recommend it to anyone who wants to try it.

Sony put over 400 million into Concord. We all know how that turned out. Bigger budget doesn't guarantee more quality. It does guarantee a bigger cost to earn back for Mihoyo, which means they may have to start squeezing your wallet like they are doing in HSR right now. Beware of the inflated HP bar. That's how they will try to push you to spend.
If you have to add a modifier like 'its the best gatcha game' and its not good enough to stand on its own as a game, then its clear its meaningless. I can say I'm the tallest person... In this room. Well this isnt the same as the tallet person period. Same with gacha games, if they were good no one would add the gacha, they only add it because its not a great game, its just a great game...
