- After months of grieving, Katy and Mike Dieckhaus now want to make sure that Evelyn doesn't become another forgotten statistic.
This is heart breaking! This is America's epidemic of lack of Mental Health hospitals! Stop blaming an inanimate object, and start blaming the person/people who pulled the trigger! We will never solve these issues unless we start looking at the main problem!!! My condolences to this family and all the other families out there who are suffering because of the lack of mental health facilities!
I agree with this. Have you ever seen "I almost became a school-shooter" TED talk? The guy talks about how he had acquired a gun illegally and was going to go shoot up a mall or a school but stopped because someone showed him care and compassion.
We can't comprehend what people are going through so we automatically label these people as criminals. The truth is, I think a lot of them just wanted to feel loved and accepted but no one ever gave them the chance or paid them much attention. That kind of societal neglect I'm sure does does much damage to people. That may not be the case for EVERY mass shooter but I have a feeling that might be the case for most of them.

That's the problem... It's not a mental issue... It's a heart issue and a lack of relationship with Jesus in the hearts of those whom have allowed evil into their hearts and lives by not accepting truth and Jesus! It's a demon possessed issue. Not a mental isssue

I find it interesting that the people who want to blame mental health on America’s mass shooting epidemic are the same people who are against universal healthcare. Even for someone who has private insurance, the mental healthcare system in America is under-resourced and cost prohibitive for a lot of people. And the problem isn’t going to change anytime soon with lawmakers like the ones in Tennessee.
My heart is just breaking. Hearing this horrible painful story about this little angel losing her life from a criminal the used his gun to shoot up the school children. And this is totally unexceptable and unbelievable and heart wrenching. It ripped my heart into millions of pieces watching this video. God bless her family and friends my you beautiful daughter rest in peace. And may God heal your hearts of sorrow during this time of need. My thoughts and prayers are being sent your way.

Sadly yes this killer thought she was a man and more seriously Targeted her because she was a white blonde hair Christian. So it had nothing to do with killer attending that same school she was looking and hoping for a large BODY COUNT and was calling these kids CRACKERS and the F word that is insulting. Close to 60% of Americans and 80% of Tennesseeans support more strict gun laws, but our elected politicians are being bought out by gun lobbyists. We need some major change with laws around both guns and lobbying
You realize other countries have people going onto school premises and kidnapping students, or killing them with machetes, hammers, etc.. I’m sure the people of Ukraine wished they had guns prior to the invasion. Some were training with cardboard cut outs in the beginning. Plenty of people don’t have any guns. The ones that have tend to have more than one. A school is a gun free zone. The person really cared about the law.
It id not the guns that are the problem it is this person who did this who was mentally ill. There was NO mention of this first year anniversary of this massacre and we all know why.
