how about a bit more on the studio players at chess? california had the wrecking crew, memphis had stax's house band of booker t, MG's, memphis horns. Seemed like a generic chess session would be willie dixon on bass and session leader, spann or leake on piano, maybe sam lay, freddie below or s p leary on drums and buddy guy or robert junior lockwood on guitar. loved the tour!

grew up in Chicago. 1st studio I ever saw was Chess. 🎉 now I have my own 🎉

You got it that's pretty much the line up although the house band changed over time with different producers.
