Quaranta (40) is Danny's saddest work he has made to date, and it feels like he put a lot of care into making you understand his pain. It also has a few bangers as well.

Not a bad idea
Very good idea
What do you mean by that 🤨

this felt like a more mature version of atrocity exhibition. where that was laughing through the pain, quaranta is danny sitting down and saying 'im not doing well, im struggling.' and i have so much respect for danny to do that. AOTY no question
More than Scaring the Hoes? It’s very close for me.
@@HotStrangeyes
@@HotStrangedefinitely. Scaring the hoes is more fun imo, and that album is straight bad ass but this is one of the most meaningful, open, honest, albums I've ever hear. And it's Danny's best lyrics for me
@@TeaAndBunsMC yeah it’s growing on me more and more as I listen to. It was immediately like a 7.75 but it’s at least an 8.5 right now, maybe a 9.
sprain better
This feels like Danny Brown’s version of Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers but more condensed and both show signs of maturity and introspection of their lives/careers
This is more comparable to Killer Mikes "Mike" album than it is Big Steppers.
Mm&tbs dark mode
Definitely Danny’s most mature and meaningful album to date.
more than atrocity exhibition? damn i need to give this album a listen :D
@@bentokeebs yessir - atrocity exhibition is him laying out all his bad habits and depression, but this album is him being 100% honest about even bigger mistakes, losing his ex, seeing detroit gentrified, and running out of time. Very very mature and the only other time an album has been this open to me was mr morale. I know it's early but I think it's danny at his best.
Final song had me in tears ngl, hit so hard. The album feels so mellow but it sums up where’s he’s at now and wrapping up that XXX era of his life and how he’s beyond it. Reallyyyyyy good, I think I agree I like this more than AE. Also Quelle Chris killed these beats.
This album means more to you than Atrocity Exhibition?
@@andrimatthiasson5718 I think so
There are songs on this album that honestly break my heart. Danny’s maturity on this album is insane
I think there’s a conceptuality behind Tantor, even the cringe sound effects. The start/end of the song implies that this song is “from a separate connection/channel” so to speak, almost like it’s being observed by Danny or the general listeners outside the scope of the album. It could be Danny looking back on his bombastic persona in his music and reflecting on it in later songs
Woah great take. I took it as him on coke or drugs again, the no no no samples could be him coming down and realizing God damn I'm starting to feel again. "Paid for a therapist I still ain't changed"
those headphones look like a saw trap
I think the sound effects on Tantor were chosen with intent. They’re outdated af, it’s like Danny is making fun of himself for being old and making old references. I think it adds charm tbh.
what an album, i wasnt expecting this type of production and lyricism from danny brown however it worked out
I'm sure your expectations really matter. Thank God it worked out in your eyes. Thank God

this album is amazing, 9/10
pitchfork is irrelevant
its crazy how it was a 6 to them ahaha'
How are they still just posting L takes for the traction
I had to look up the Genius page for Tantor to confirm that 5:57 wasn't just Brad spamming his soundboard lol
Maybe Danny is part of the army, HOO HA!
Not related to the album, but I really appreciate the editing here where you give snippets of other tracks you're talking about for comparison. As someone who hasn't heard everything that Brad talks about a lit, I really like that there's a chance to understand the conversations throught the video. Thanks Brad!
Not even a huge Danny Brown fan (got into his music after STH released), but man what an album. His lyricism and tone on this is nothing like I’ve ever heard before, let alone from him. Definitely an AOTY contender, and probably on par with his best.
Quelle Chris also produced EWNESW off of XXX, most underrated Danny song imo
Quelle is also an amazing rapper, one of my favorites.
This entire thing tells the story of how Danny has begun to lose everything due to his reckless behavior. After Jenn's Terrific Vacation, the tone of the album shifts from a more upbeat vibe to reflective and almost mournful. Also, I feel like the sound effects at the end of Tantor might be to indicate the tone deafness of someone who is 40 years old and on the internet (though understanding the fact that those memes are cringe is kind of untone deaf but hey what can you do).
That's just sort of my interpretation of the album.
Putting upbeat songs and then the more depressing and reflective songs midway through, is the main structure of XXX
I think of tantor as danny back on coke. Paid for a therapist but still ain't change. The dial up sound at the beginning, and then thr user disconnected sound are him coming up and coming down. The no no no no sample could be the feeling of oh God I'm coming down and I'm starting to feel again.
@TeaAndBunsMC good breakdown of the song 🔥
@@radhinkabagaskara5595 that's sick
19:57 I need a full album of this
JPEGMAFIA’s been real quite with the autotune since this
Absolutely worth the wait
The thing that I've learned about Jenn's Terrific Vacation, is that a lot more people need to go and listen to Goodie Mob. Cell Therapy is an incredible song and that whole album in general is very very good.
Only brad could turn a danny brown album reaction into shitting on mgk
13:05 the sample is from goodie mob soul food one of the best hip hop albums to come from south it is really really good I highly recommend it trust me you would not be disappointed
Quaranta technically is a prequel to STH so its nice to see that Danny is having fun with it again.
Also Bruiser Wolf kinda reminded me of Grandmaster Flash
Great editing honestly Brad, glad to see you putting out a new video! Hopefully you give the Andre 3000 album a chance too
Be said in the stream that he was gonna be super busy next week and prob wouldn’t be able to get to it u til after
Listened to the album before watching this, and Brad hit the nail on the head. It's an incredibly emotional album and one of Danny's most beautiful projects to date. Glad to hear this change if pace coming from him with the forward vulnerability and reflection. Also spectacular instrumentals and mixing, sounds so full and lush.
I thought it was dope, I think the high energy tracks were better on his earlier albums, but the more laid back tracks on this one are some of the best he has made
These are a vibe. Surprisingly good production and some of these go hard.
Got a christian homie named Big Sinna
One time I wanted to check if im deaf and I went for a test and sat in those black headphones
I think he has a Grood Taste in Music
This album really is Danny brown at his most mature love it
@@The_Mayonnaise_Monkey ay I’ve seen imature plays before. I mean look at em with kamikaze
I listened through the album yesterday in full for the first time. I feel like there were two personalities coming out of Danny in this album and it felt cohesive for the most part. I wish he would blend those vocal styles together in a track, but maybe that's just me. Anyways, you can definitely tell where he was mentally several years ago and while it's definitely dark, he came out with some of the best vulnerable songs to date. I'll keep spinning it, but so far it's an 8/10 for me.
YBP is an absolute 10, god i love that track so much
“Celebrate”??? 😂 bro
Danny always has crazy production. It’s sounds industrial, smooth, and eerie at the same time.
Brad thanks for jumoscaring me with that impact sound
FINALLY A BRAD VIDEO REACTIO N WHERE HE SHARES MY FEELINGS
Quaranta pretty much the deepest album he dive about his neighborhood and his life tho. I mean, after the good but disappointed one with the previous colorful album that include Best Life, 3 Tearz and Dirty Laundry, Danny didn't feeling weird on being happy.
But then, Scaring The Hoes and this album dropped. You can hear again the influence of Atrocity Exhibitions back at him again.
Let's go danny reaction🙏🙏🙏
New Danny Brown? Let's fucking goooOOOOOO
AYYY FIRST ONE!! [*fire emoji*]
Man, I thought we were gonna wait YEARS for another album... but dam here we are half a year later
The sample on Dark Sword Angel is
Cal Tjader - la murga panamena
A jazz musician who primarily used horns, I recognize it from a KRS - one song called C.I.A.
bro i’m in a KFC rn and as soon as you started the album 7 years by lukas graham came on in the store
Thx for reminding me
Great dark sounding album!
Dark Sword Angel feels like Monopoly 2, at least in its production. It immediately reminded me of Monopoly, and I think both songs are bangers
you wont believe it WAS called monopoly 2 in 2020-2021 when he was making it. Its also produced by quelle who did the original monopoly
youre a good man theon
I still keep missing Friday streams, so stupid
YBP feature gives me demon dice vibes when she said "FROM THE LAND OF THE GANGSTERS"
genuinely loved this album, tho i still prefer atrocity exhibition
i agree with brad about tantor, honestly a lot of alchemist beats instantly become sour when he drops some clip from a meme from like 2014
Really interested to see what you think about that new Andre 3000 album
New Blue Sun def isn't actually an instrumental flute album, what I've heard of it I'd say it's much moreso ambient electronic music
There were some songs that really broke my heart for Danny. Just so happy he’s sober and on a path to healing now - no one deserves it more!
Album was amazing by the way
QUARANTA DID
This man really let a PITCHFORK review sway how he feels. Wow. Also, Andre is god tier... don't slander Bradley.
LETS GOOOOOO BRAD ACTUALLY GOT TIDAL
Yo brad you should review "the complete jetzons"
Brad has had to of heard Vaginal Secretions by Necro from the album the Sexorcist. And if you're reading this brad and haven't heard it just do it it's the grossest vulgar song ever
Hey Brad. I don’t know if you’re ever going to see this comment, but there’s this singer I’ve been listening to that I think deserves more attention. Her name’s Annie and she’s a Norwegian pop singer that makes really good music. Her albums Anniemal and Dark Hearts are pretty great and I just wanted to tell you about those albums cause it would be cool to see you react to them. She honestly deserves more attention.
Brad, have you listened to Javelin by Sufjan Stevens yet? There's a good chance it's your pick for album of the year. Before you listen to it, check out the background to the album, it provides a lot of necessary backstory.
"Nobody has time for the new 90-minute Andre 3000 flute album."
To play Devil's Advovate, Brad, you have time to listen to Soundtracks For The Blind, and that album alone is nearly 2 and a half hours.
The album is loopable too.
I wasnt really a huge Bruiser Wolf fan but his feature was fuckin amazing on this. I think YBP is my favorite track, though Celibate, Tantor, Bass Jam and Dark Sword Angel are absolutely some of my other favorites
I missed the stream naurrrr
Was here for the first half and listened to the rest alone. Great album, I recommend 🙏
Danny browns albums are just the 'Mr incredible becoming uncanny' meme'. Its at the end where its just dark.
The moans on Celibate are 🔥
Hahahaha
NOOOO I LOVE TANTOR
Finally someone that don't dislike shakedown
This album is stunning for me, Danny’s low voice makes the music good
yoo brad! you should totally check out BLACK KRAY/ Sickboyrari, or maybe some LIL B. I think you'd be really interested in what you'd find a little bit further in the alternative rap scene.
What is on your head? You got one of those old head neck-brace contraptions?
4:50 Brad hates Tidal, confirmed
Brad, you need to react to Dolly Parton's new star-studded rock album, Rockstar!
How is your least favorite tantor dude. That's one of my favorites
it was like a 75-80/100. that was the lowest score lol
@@BradTasteInMusicOfficial fair, I loved it when it released as a single
good vid i would give the album a 9
Boss up and shakedown is a bar off some song on uknowhatimsayin, I think Combat but not sure
you NEED to react to Will Woods "The Normal Album"
Quelle Chris mentioned 🎉🤞🔥🦅🗣️
Whattt tantor is so good
But, what headphones are they?
daily note: don't share the aux on Celibate ft. MIKE. Thank you Brad

What’s the name of the headphones ?
this is AOTY btw
AOTY IM TELLING YOUUUU
Hey can someone explain how Brad plays copywrite music without getting his cheeks clapped?
I'd like to do something similar to him but im scared of the big dogs...
Where can i purchase these headphones
These are the Meze Empyreans
@user-dr6kd6uj1c JESUS CHRIST 2500??? Ray J has a wonderful pair of headphones that I use everyday, so I'll look the other way.
If you liked Promises by Floating Points and Pharoah Sanders you’ll like the Andre 3000 album
I’m a little soft on this one. Some cool moments, but feels thin compared the last 3 albums he put out
I'm with you. uknowwhatimsayin was my least favorite but it still had 2 or 3 tracks I kept in rotation. This one even the strong tracks aren't ones I'd play a lot. I really think the production outshines the content/performance on here. Maybe I just prefer energetic Danny.
day one of politely asking Brad to react to FAKE TYPE.'s "FAKE BOX" album. they composed NEZUMI scheme
AOTY
Please, I want a new stream
MORE WEEN!

Brad, you can’t give it a 3 because you don’t think men should be vulnerable.
as a seething spotify hater, damn brad one of the biggest reasons u have to use spotify is that they have lyrics? like u cant look up the lyrics
Sound effects MF Doom vibes
you should review chonny jash's tally hall cover album; either you hate it & yourself and will do it, or you like it and will do it. or you dont do it, i cant make you
Having Tantor as your least favourite is L's. Great reaction, tho.
